Hiya, so I have my Anti D injection tomorrow and was told by a friend that they inject the tummy for it? Is this true as I had no idea? I'm hugely phobic of needles so I want to be mentally prepared. (Blush)

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
FellOutOfBedTwice · 17/05/2016 16:16

No, I don't think so or at least mine wasn't. They put it in the muscle in my bum cheek!! I assumed that was standard but will have to see with this pregnancy in a couple of weeks.

Wolfiefan · 17/05/2016 16:18

Had several anti d injections. Never in my tummy.

jellycat · 17/05/2016 16:19

I've had several too, always in the bum.

spiney · 17/05/2016 16:19

Top of thigh/ underneath my bum. Never had it in my stomach.

LuckySantangelo1 · 17/05/2016 16:20

Mine went in my thigh

thehisuix · 17/05/2016 16:23

Hmm weird.. no idea why I was told that?! Angry Thanks for the replies!

Mine was in my arm.

Dixiechick17 · 17/05/2016 16:29

I was given a choice of bum or arm, she said bum would be less painful so I opted for that.

seven201 · 17/05/2016 16:29

Mine was in my upper arm (about 1 month ago in Kent).

Julieb85 · 17/05/2016 16:34

Also in my arm...

rubberducker · 17/05/2016 16:40

I've always been given the choice of arm or bum, never stomach!

hugoagogo · 17/05/2016 16:43

Mine was in my thigh, I seem to remember being told it had to be in a large muscle.

yorkshireteaa · 17/05/2016 16:58

I had one back of my upper arm!

Lilliana · 17/05/2016 17:05

Bum/thigh too

Clickncollect · 17/05/2016 17:11

Bum for me too - didn't even feel it as midwife chatted away.

OhtoblazeswithElvira · 17/05/2016 17:12

Arm and bum Smile

MistressMerryWeather · 17/05/2016 17:21

Upper arm here.

mayhew · 17/05/2016 17:21

Your friend might be confusing this with anti clot injections. They are often given in the tummy.

MistressMerryWeather · 17/05/2016 17:24

Rabies vaccine is also given in the stomach. Wink

I think your friend is confuddled.

TheCrumpettyTree · 17/05/2016 20:42

Both times I had it in my arm.

cheapredwine · 17/05/2016 20:43

Has to go into a muscle. Thigh or bum here. I opted for latter, thigh can give you a dead leg.

justdontevenfuckingstart · 17/05/2016 20:44

Another bum here.

CatsCantFlyFast · 17/05/2016 20:46

All mine into my arm

Baileycakes · 17/05/2016 20:47

Mine was in my arm for both my pregnancies

jb007 · 17/05/2016 20:49

Think your friend is getting mixed up with clexane injections. They go in your tummy
