Anti D Injection

Hiya, so I have my Anti D injection tomorrow and was told by a friend that they inject the tummy for it? Is this true as I had no idea? I'm hugely phobic of needles so I want to be mentally prepared. ()

No, I don't think so or at least mine wasn't. They put it in the muscle in my bum cheek!! I assumed that was standard but will have to see with this pregnancy in a couple of weeks.

Had several anti d injections. Never in my tummy.

I've had several too, always in the bum.

Top of thigh/ underneath my bum. Never had it in my stomach.

Mine was in my arm.

I was given a choice of bum or arm, she said bum would be less painful so I opted for that.

Mine was in my upper arm (about 1 month ago in Kent).

Also in my arm...

I've always been given the choice of arm or bum, never stomach!

Mine was in my thigh, I seem to remember being told it had to be in a large muscle.

I had one back of my upper arm!

Your friend might be confusing this with anti clot injections. They are often given in the tummy.

Rabies vaccine is also given in the stomach.

I think your friend is confuddled.

Both times I had it in my arm.

Has to go into a muscle. Thigh or bum here. I opted for latter, thigh can give you a dead leg.

Think your friend is getting mixed up with clexane injections. They go in your tummy
