early pregnancy signs!

Hi,

This is going to sound ridiculous () but I had the coil removed 31st March to try for our second baby (my periods are clockwork every month on the 20th of each month and it was the no hormone coil had and the nurse said I was fertile from removal). Anyway I've been having unprotected sex since. My period is due next Thursday (20th) but today I've had light pink blood well sort of - it was (TMI) on my knickers and when I wiped although none tonight. Had a few pains in my boobs from time to time through out the day too. I remember feeling weird last weekend but I put it down to stress as I'm about to move house! Anyway could it be implantation bleeding? Again TMI but I've only had sex 3 times since?! So I wouldn't say I've been at it all the time! Just wondering what others experienced and if I'm being a baby zilla as it's not like I've had the coil out months/ been trying ages. Thanks ladies

Could possibly be the start but I spotted for around a week maybe a little longer. If you have to use a tampon/towel tomorrow then I'd class that as a flow day

Ah did you? It's been very stop start my spotting too...definitely there Thursday morning then disappeared but returned Thursday night then nothing until Saturday and then Sunday it was brown and then nothing since. Had that spotting earlier but nothing again now! Tbh we all know that if I'm pregnant then I clearly fell the first or second time I had sex post coil removal but surely it's my period. If I don't have to use a tampon say by Friday should I take a test then? I just think a test might be too soon anyway? How many days are you supposed to wait after the period due date? By the way thank you ladies for being so lovely and communicating it's really nice! Xxx

Technically you can do a test the day you miss a period. I took one the day I was due on with DD and got a BFP straight away with this pregnancy I was 6 days late but knew I was pregnant as I had all the symptoms. Was extremely shocked as still had the coil in. I'd definitely take a test Friday if you haven't come on by then

Can't believe you fell pregnant on the coil! Did they have to remove it then straight away? So did you take it when you were 6 days late? Yeh I think I will take it Friday if still spotting like this but if I get full flow then at least I can start start chatting my next cycle...I said I would be relaxed about the approach to falling pregnant too

Just re-read your post! Got it now! with DS it was strange as I stopped taking the pill after my last packet so had the normal bleed in the 7 day break then I was waiting for first natural period (doctor said I wouldn't be fertile until I got this). It never came and I took a test on May 7th and it was positive! But by then the symptoms had fully kicked in! I did do a test 2 weeks prior to that but was negative and it was a First Response too. I never did get that first natural period until post childbirth! Xx

Yes I had to have it removed straight away and have early scans as they thought it might be eptopic. Turns out the coil had moved down and hadn't been protecting me. I took the test on boxing day as I knew I was pregnant by then. Bodies are weird especially when using contraception. Let me know how you get on. Are you meant to be due on today?

Oh god I bet that was quite scary but glad it was easy to remove and sorted. Yeh due today nothing at all this morning no spotting. I'm only thinking it could be on its way because I feel massively bloated...hate that feeling when you breathe right in and it doesn't even make a difference haha. If I'm not pregnant it's annoying waiting for the first full day! Just as I like to know where I'm at with my cycle.

It was more of a shock than anything as we weren't even considering having a baby for another couple of years hence the coil but now I'm 21wks with a little boy I hate feeling bloated too. Yeah it's a waiting game now to see if you come on or not. I'd be tempted to test tomorrow but I'm very impatient

Awww that's so exciting though! It was clearly meant to be yeh I guess it's a waiting game but the whole spotting thing has been weird anyway unless it actually turned into full flow! Guess I could do a test...the only thing is I don't know if it's just too early as surely I can only be maximum 2 weeks pregnant. If my dates were right I ovulated on 3rd April. Coil was removed 31st March...well I think not sure! Xx

I was looking for some advice. The last week in March I began to have some symptoms that I previously never had with my period, feeling sick, weird pains in my abdomen an I had had unprotected sex a few weeks before so i was worried. My period was due the following week so I thought I would wait and see what happens. My period is always like clockwork, I could practically tell you what time it would start on the day it usually starts. It didn't start on the Saturday so I got worried. Sunday morning however, 1 day late it started. The strange thing about this period was it stopped for a whole day 2 days after it started. It wasn't as heavy as it usually was, then came back the next day, slightly heavier then ended the next day. This was unusual for my period.

After this I didn't think anything of it. I went to the doctor and got the pill and started it the following Sunday. Now just like week (Friday) I began to notice signs again. My breasts have definitely gotten bigger, my skin is very dry and redness has appeared under the skin on my face. I have strange pain sensations in my abdomen but I have taken test and all come back negative. By my estimations by now I would be 4 weeks. Surely something would appear on the test?

My only worry was that when my mum was pregnant with me she knew she was pregnant but nothing showed positive until around the 4 month mark.

I'm really worried because i'm in two minds as to whether or not I'm ready for a baby. Any advice?

If you are due on today MrsG then it's possible to get a positive result tomorrow but using the pink dye ones that I was on about. I'd give it a try tomorrow.

Samswish the only thing I can recommend is to do a test with your first urine of the day as hcg levels should be at their highest/most concentrated. If it comes back negative and you've still got symptoms then go to your GP and ask for a blood test

Samswish I would do what Jen says maybe wait a bit longer and do another test then take it from there?

Jen..yeh no period yet so not sure what's going on! Don't know whether to wait until I have other symptoms other than missing period to test? I would have thought first response or clear blue would pick it up by now but then again if pregnant I can only be about 2 weeks at the very most xx

I would test with first response over clearblue. If it were me I'd test tomorrow but that's because I'm rubbish at waiting they date a pregnancy from the first day of your last period so would be slightly more than 2wks I think

I'm just trying to work out the maths...sorry for this information sharing (!) but maybe you can help haha. So coil out 31st March. Ovulated 3rd April (based on the first day of my last period) had sex that day and also the following Wednesday and Sunday...Well those were the days pre spotting anyway. Yeh I'm thinking about this too much I've got a bit of backache still bloated so I do think the period is en route! Xx

Did you take a test or see your doctor? Was the first day of your last period the 20th of March? If so, that would count as first day of pregnancy although you dont conceive until a couple of weeks after the first day of last period.

Ffion I haven't done either! My last period was 20th March and the spotting started 14th April and period due today but nothing so far. Was going to take a test at the weekend or maybe leave it until next weds if no period?

Are you definitely sure you ovulated 3rd April? I used to ovulate on day 15 before having DD but since having her I'm not sure as my periods are different (Obviously not tracking it as we weren't trying) if the date of your last period was 20th March then you could well be pregnant or your body could be just adjusting to no coil either way I'd take a test

I don't know if I ovulated then I just worked it out on an ovulation calculator putting in the first day of my last period the 20th of March...took a test this morning and negative! So no period but no pregnancy....now I'm worried! As the coil was no hormone the nurse said taking it out wouldn't affect my cycle? But my cycle is definitely not right spotting on and off for the week pre period date but then no period!

If I still don't get a period I can test again next week but I think as its negative I know I'm not as because my period is missed the test would pick it up!

I feel even more stressed now though as I wanted to chart my cycle but can't with no bleed...never mind I can't let it get me down as that's no way to be. Just got to go with the flow....xxx

Stress can effect your cycle so try not to stress (I know it's hard) also a test might not necessarily pick it up. My friend got pregnant the same time as me (baby's born 2 days apart) and her test was negative for a further 3weeks

Oh god don't say that Jen! Haha...it could be stress but I don't feel overly stressed I've been asleep by 930 every night this week! So I've been sleeping fine haha.

Could the copper coil removal have anything to do with affecting my cycle? The nurse who removed it said it won't that I should expect my period at the same time but I'm not so sure now!

I'm trying to go with the flow but no period makes it hard to work out anything but that serves me right for trying to get pregnant! I should have been relaxed from the onset but once I get something in my mind...

I spoke to the nurse who removed my coil and she says if you're pregnant the test I did wouldn't show up until 3 weeks at least anyway and lets say you ovulated around 3/4 April and are pregnant its way too soon so test next week if no period. Xx

Ah thanks! Well took a cheap test today it was strongly negative but then I saw a very faint positive line or is this the shadow or something??
