am i or arent i???tested with an ebay test

hi everyone!!

i had a mc in april and again in october last year(2006-seems funny to be calling it last year!!).weve been ttc again and i tested on sunday (af not due until tomorrow) and got a faint pink line on an ebay test.

now,im not sure how accurate the ebay tests are,they say you can test early with them,but im still not convinced!

i dont feel right im myself,feel abit odd (like theres something not right but cant put my finger on it!!cant describe it any other way!)my boobs have been hurting aswell!

i dont want to get my hopes up,but i was just wondering if anyone has felt this odd!!and i know af isnt due until tomorrow,but should i believe ebay test?

Even with cheap tests I don't think you can get a false positive - the hormone needs to be there to create the line - so any sort of line must be good news I'd say !!!

in my head i know you cant get a false possitive,but i think im just too scared to start believing it!!

told dh that if af doesnt come tomorrow will wait until weekend and buy a clearblue digital one!if i can wait that long!!

as long as the line is in the correct place and has been read within the correct time period it is positive

Buffy if you have had a faint pink line clear blue digital will work now. I had an extremeley faint line with this baby and also a negative when I asked the chemist to confirm it. Bought a CB digital took it home and it was PREGNANT in big black letters.

i sat watching the strip after id done it!!

i did notice that 15 mins later the line had gone.

but it was definately there when i first tested!

am really trying not to get my hopes up,but i just feel really strange,not normal.and i havent even been drinking over xmas and new year so cant put it down to that!!

did you test before af was due?

Used ebay tests 5 days before af was due. Faint, but positive. Kept testing with the same brand (15for£4 or something ridiculous) and by the time af was due, line was much darker and stayed for longer.

Currently 21wks.

I swear the only probs with tests I had was the cheapy ones like early bird (the chemist used) and was negative.

Do you have a tescos near?? I also used one of their tests before the chemist did one and it had a faint line but was deffo there.

i havent tried the tescos ones.used earlybird when was pg with ds2,got a neg with that but tested a week later and was pos.

thats reassuring that you felt odd aswell!i cant describe how i feel,i just feel so strange!!dh says im def pg as i got upset last night when he jokingly said that i had been sat doing nothing all day.i took him seriously although he was grinning his head off.i hadnt done nothing ,yesterday i did 7 wash loads,and cleaned every room in the house!

showofhands,i got the 10 for £3 ebay ones.used most of them in septmeber,but had two left.tested thursday,was neg (obviously far too early but dh was excited!) and then tested sunday.

was looking at the ovulation ones,but hopefully wont need them now!

Oh and I only tested because I had a 'weird' feeling, just didn't feel quite right like I might be dreaming.

I really hope this is it for you and you'll soon be as fat as I am.

Do you know talking about that feeling well with dd2 EXH and I were casually trying for a baby and for some reason again I just knew I was pregnant, The feeling I just can't explain at all but I was that convinced I was PG I tested about 3 times every day for a week (very expensive [shock} and all I got were Negatives (I wasn't late or anything, no sore boobs but again I just knew and one night after being round a friends I did a clear blue and it was positive and all I said to my friend who was with me was " TOLD YA" LOL

Think it's instinct TBH and possible moods lol

last week i said to dh that i felt pg,even though af isnt due until tomorrow.maybe it is instinct!

but the way i feel,its so strange,i just feel like i want to cry,laugh,be sick,jump up and down and sleep all at the same time!!i just know taht there is something not right,its just weird!!

sounds unreliable, but if it did show up first, go buy a normal one from chemist now theyre back open and have another goo..good luck

forgot to mention that 2 weeks ago,i had a little bleed,well,more of a smudgey bit of blood really.was wondering if it was ovulation bleed (can you bleed when you ovulate?) or an implantation bleed.

Why do people think ebay tests do not work?? I had some and tested positive 5 days early, when I read the info they were actually better than the shop bought ones, as they were more sensitive... personally I would never spend money on a clearblue one ever again!

Agree with smellymelly- they are actually very reliable. They're just cheap because they're minus all the packaging. And often they can be more sensitive than the shop-bought ones, so can pick up hcg ealier.

Buffy, I know the feeling, it's just weird like you need to do something and now, but you're not sure what and everything just seems surreal. Bleeding was probably implantation.

i think its because of them being cheap,you think cheap doesnt mean reliable!

but also because of the mc's,i dont wnat to get my hopes up!even though its looking like i probably am pg,im scared to believe it incase i mc again.(if taht makes sense!)

i thought straight away that the bleed was implantation bleed,but a friedn of mine (who i have moaned about on mn before-she said my mc in april was my own fault-nice person.she had just had a baby,and turned out she had pnd) anyway,she said that you bleed when you ovulate,which i honestly can say i have never noticed before.shes pissed off with me again because we are ttc,dont know why she cant just be happy for me.

Buffy, just let your "friend's" comments wash over you. If she can't be happy for you then it's because of her own insecurities.

I can sympathise with your concerns. I had a m/c in June before conceiving again in August. I then started bleeding at 7wks and was convinced the same was happening again. It was terrifying and I still to this day don't let myself believe I am actually pregnant. Got my 20wk scan tomorrow so hopefully that will quell a few fears, but I think paranoia, especially when you know what it's like for it to go wrong, is all part of the joys of pregnancy.

Like I said I will keep an eye on your threads and can't wait for a birth announcement later in the year.
