Scan pictures - costs

Have just had the date through for my dating scan and the letter says they will charge £5 per picture printed. Is this quite standard now? When we had printed pictures with DS 4 years ago they printed 4 pictures per scan and just asked for a donation, so found £5 per picture a bit steep!

It's £3 here and the sonographer normally slips in a few extra photos and tells you just to buy the one token...

There's no way I would have bought the tokens in advance having had an early miscarriage. Midwives were fine with me buying token afterwards and giving it to them when they brought my notes back to the waiting room.

It's a suggested donation of £5 (doesn't say per picture or what) hat you can pay at reception on the way out it if you want. They handed me about 6 pictures after 20 week scan but I would have been happy with just the one. I don't mind paying at all, I gave them £10 as I didn't ask for or need so many pictures and just assumed it was not priced per photo...

I'm in liverpool. We got given two free photos and then it was £2 for any subsequent ones plus a cardboard sleeve to put them in. The money goes towards the hospital charity fund.

Think yourselves lucky. My trust has recently introduced yet another money spinner for them- now you don't even get a scan picture, you get a code which you have to enter online on a special website and the code shows you all your scan pics, each picture costs £10 and then you have to work out how to download it and how to print it off. It's a complete rip off and despite 4 scans so far I have one digital image saved on the iPad but no hard copies at all Sad

It's rubbish because not everyone has a pc/smartphone or the knowledge of how to download it etc so lots of people must be missing out on having their baby's scan pictures.

Ours is £2 each which goes to hospital charity. Again, we get asked in the scan room but didn't have to buy tokens until after the scan (they hand them over at the desk, not in the room)

The scans I had at early pregnancy and with the consultant, I received my scan pics for free so I've got a bit of a collection now!
