Do I need to say goodbye to my mini? Any mini drivers with prams out there?

I am delighted that I'm pregnant its 10 years since my son and I honestly never thought it would happen again. However I now have a dilemma, I'm not the most confident of drivers and after years of big cars I finally got myself a mini convertable (which I love and I can park)
But from what I've seen I've got no chance of fitting a pram/buggy in the boot or back seat.
Has anyone had a similar problem and found a solution. Or am I destined to get another big car. Any help appreciated

I had a mini with a Bugaboo bee, it wasn't a convertible though.

You may have more trouble finding a suitable car seat tbh.

I don't know about a Mini convertible but we have a Mini Countryman and we can do 2 adults, 3 kids and the dog in the car with an umbrella fold stroller in the boot. I'm not sure that's answered your question as such but there are other Mini alternatives.

Cockbollocks did you fit the bugaboo in the boot or backseat? I know I can get a car seat in the front and in the back, so I was hoping to put babba in the front with me. With the pram in the back. Luckily my OH has pretty big car which I can pinch on major days out (although he hasn't agreed to this yet, he is a big fella who looks daft in my car but hey ho )

Pigeonpost. I defo would consider another mini. I love them I live in a village and they are great to park. It just needs to be one I can fit babba, son and a pram in (I know I'm not asking for much ha ha )

I had a Mini One with baby twins and got 2 car seats in the back seat and a side by side collapsable buggy in the boot somehow! Had to give it back after maternity leave as i didn't go back but I don't recall it being a problem.

Worth a look in mothercare as they sell a mini pram might fit in your mini??

Bugaboo is probably your best bet. The chameleon fits into a mini (not sure if convertible though) as does the bee.
If you are going to be having baby in the front seat obviously make sure that you have the airbags disabled, but also double check that having them switched off doesn't invalidate your insurance. It's rare but something to look into.

I've got a baby jogger zip and the fold is tiny so would probably fit. I've not had newborn in my but might be worth checking that. The baby jogger mini is also not a bad size fold wise and is a great buggy. You can fit a carrycot onto it.

I have a Mini & I've gone for the Mothercare Roam, the frame fits in the boot & pram/seat fits in the rear foot wells with the car seat in the back. But I'm not sure if it will fit in the convertible Mini boot. Alternatively, my SIL has the maxi cosi streety & that fits incredibly easily in the Mini's boot.

Baby zen do two small prams that are suitable from birth and fold down extremely small.

But expensive!

The iCandy Cherry fitted easily in our boot. I think the Raspberry they sell now is even smaller.

I have a vauxhall Adam and it has teeny tiny boot! My DS is 5 and the first time I put him in his seat in the back he asked if he was sitting in the boot

Here I am preg with DS2.....plan is to put chassy in the boot, yes I have to remove all wheels to get it in (mothercare orb) both kids in back (it only has 2 seats) and then carrycot will have to go on the passenger seat! If I'm ever going anywhere with DR we will have to go in his car (skoda octavia)

Hi there, take a look at the micralite buggies with bassinets, they are very lightweight. A Quinny Zapp would definitely fit in too (they fit in lockers on planes!) and I think you can get a different model with a bassinet for when they are tiny. I would rethink having a baby in the front seat though. It is much safer to have them in the back.

We fit the bee in the boot but had to take out the parcel shelf.

I also had 2 children in the back.

Baby zen yoyo 0+. Folds to hand luggage size. Plenty of room left

Maybe just agree that whoever has the baby has the bigger car?

I manage to fit a buggy that comes apart and an enormous bag of baby stuff in the boot of a convertible Fiat 500. It's do-able, definitely.

In a mini convertible, if I remember rightly it just needs to go quite flat to slide in. I'm sure you can find something.

I remember going to the mini garage and asking the salesman to see if the chair would fit!

The Easywalker Mini is MADE for a mini!! We have one and it fits in the boot of our Fiat 500 with the carrycot with room for a changing bag and two shopping bags! It's awesome! It takes a car seat to make a travel system should you want that. We looked at the Bugaboo Bee but this was sturdier and less "buggy like". I really wanted a proper pram with a carrycot and luckily I now have one.

We got ours from Mothercare as it was on half price sale.

Icandy raspberry should fit I have a Kia picanto which has a tiny boot and can get the strawberry in and raspberry is quite a bit smaller

Baby jogger city mini fits in the footwell of my back seat if I pop the wheels off and they come off v easily.

I have a Mini Cooper and am expecting DC1 in 7 weeks! We have gone for the icandy peach 3. It fits fine in the boot with the parcel shelf taken out. One the baby is in the stroller rather than the carry cot it will go in with the parcel shelf.

Car seat presents more of a problem, it does fit in the back but it's a real pain to get it in and out in my 3 door. I'm planning on having the baby in the front with the air bag turned off.

Friends had a Toyota IQ which they got carseat and buggy in - they had a mamas and papas one which was suitable from birth. Imagine a lie flat buggy will be easier than a full bassinet?

Don't forget, if you're just going to race around the shops then you can just clip the car seat on to a travel system so only need the base or invest in a good quality sling for longer days out?

Best car seat to get is an extended rear facing that swivels for 3 door cars.

Liked the Cybex sirona. Then you can swivel it forward, strap baby in then swivel it backwards for travelling
