Hi all, been trying for a baby now for 8 months and it has been trying. I know people try longer but it doesnt make me feel better. I have tried EVERYTHING..... the cutting down on wine, cigs, junk food, dieting, tracking, ovalation sticks, the 'not stressing', having sex every day, every other day, legs up, you name it i have done it. Last 2 months my periods have been late so after getting over excited my periods have come. I try not to talk to people about it as dont want to sound mad & like the crazy women i have become. But again this month i am 2 week late so i took a cheap test, surprise surprise it was a negative. Never mind i thought as usual i will fill my calender up activities i couldnt do if pregnant. However today i went to empty the bin and found the test.... with a sigh i went to put it in the big black bag and as i did there were 2 pink lines!!! I thought nope its me going crazy then i made the mistake of googling (i am like a google addict of tricks and tips and advice) and it said it is possible its a positive. Dont really want to ask anyone and this website has been a great support over the months as i have reading about people in the same boat as me.
Is there any chance i could be? Not getting my hopes but not sure what to think o do so any help would be great xxx

applesvpears · 10/01/2016 19:43

I did 6 in total and my first few were pretty much like that ! Congratulations! I couldn't believe it and when I went to the maternity unit the next day (type 1 diabetic so pretty much told to come in NOW) and I expected them to do an 'official' test. But they said the home tests are so reliable they don't need to. They kept saying "you ARE pregnant!!!" Amazing Smile

impatientwomen00 · 10/01/2016 19:54

Aaawwww thanks you everyone, i keep wanting to drive to my mums and show her but my partner seems to think we may be best waiting till we have seen a doctor? You spend so much time wanting it to happen and when it does happen you dont believe it!!! Typical lol

fohamy12 · 10/01/2016 20:01

Sorry impatient I read yourfirst post incorrectly, didn't realise your BFP was on a FRER , I thought it was negative and Tesco one positive, sorry.

That said that's definitely a BFP , congratulations to you both x

unimaginativename13 · 10/01/2016 20:02

Tell him nonsense! A doctor just does a piss test.....you've already done one!

KwickNC · 10/01/2016 20:04

Some doctors don't even do preggo tests anymore!

Congrats though Flowers

impatientwomen00 · 10/01/2016 21:08

Oh god how am i going to get through work tommorrow now!! Hahaha

unimaginativename13 · 10/01/2016 21:09

Most doctors don't even see you!

Madnson · 10/01/2016 21:11

My doc never did a test both times.

No need you have the hormone in your body and the test has shown that! He will book you in with midwife who will do some paperwork and give you a date for your first scan Smile

Huge congratulations ThanksThanksThanks

impatientwomen00 · 10/01/2016 21:12

Really? Oh i have so much to learn!! Might give them a call in morning for some advice?

impatientwomen00 · 10/01/2016 21:13

Oh my god 'book me in for a scan' seems so unreal!! Lol thanks so much for all your help and advice x

Madnson · 10/01/2016 21:14

Also when I tested for my son. It was a negative (in boots bathroom!) not sure why but put lid back on test and put it in my coat pocket. Got back to car and felt the stick in my pocket picked it out at a great big positive was there! Smile he's now 2 Star

KwickNC · 10/01/2016 21:14

You're best calling the booking in service at the hospital you want to give birth in for advice.

lucymootoo · 10/01/2016 21:15

Congrats!! Maybe get one of the clear blue ones that say "pregnant" instead of a line. My Dr didn't do a pregnancy test just straight referral to midwife and was seen at 12 weeks- a long wait. Then I had scan at 14 weeks .. I didn't quite believe it until then

impatientwomen00 · 10/01/2016 21:15

Aaawww bless thats a lovely story very happy for you, that negative is a massive kick in the teeth isnt it! To everyone around me i have been 'normal' and laid back about it all but secretly i was like FFS
