Omg omg omg it's been 8 years since we started trying for a baby. 6 rounds of fertility treatment failed. I've been feeling AWFUL for past few days. Had bizarre v light bleeding 4/5 days ago. In fit of stupidity/eternal optimism I bought a pregnancy test today (and promised myself this would be the LAST), just taken it to check I can have a drink at new year - and there's a second line!!! It's faint but there IS a second line!! It's only a cheapy asda own brand one. Could it be wrong? Could I be hallucinating? Or is the singular greatest moment of my life???!

Can you post a pic? If the line came up in the time frame it's unlikely to be wrong - have got my fingers crossed for you!

Will take another one in morning and post pic! I don't ovulate but weirdly enough this month I paid for an ovarian assessment as a precursor to private Ivf and when they did the scan my endometrium (?) lining was perfect and there was a big egg about to be released! Dp saw the line and he's waaaay less likely to hallucinate lines than me! Omg I can't believe it! My sister is in labour as we speak so what a start to the year!!!!! Hopefully. Maybe is a mistake. Will try not to let emotions run away with me. Am 40.

But I'm so excited/nervous I can barely string a sentence together! Happy new year everyone!!

I heard the test just cannot say positive if it's not as it needs to have a hormone present for that second line to appear.
