Omg omg omg it's been 8 years since we started trying for a baby. 6 rounds of fertility treatment failed. I've been feeling AWFUL for past few days. Had bizarre v light bleeding 4/5 days ago. In fit of stupidity/eternal optimism I bought a pregnancy test today (and promised myself this would be the LAST), just taken it to check I can have a drink at new year - and there's a second line!!! It's faint but there IS a second line!! It's only a cheapy asda own brand one. Could it be wrong? Could I be hallucinating? Or is the singular greatest moment of my life???!

Ps - I know the lines are v faint (stronger in real life than in pic) but realistically know I might be imagining things :/ there's been a LOT of disappointment over the years, I will take it x

I had positives like that for my first born, he's currently sitting next to me on the sofa talking about Paw Patrol

Notrevealingmyidentity · 01/01/2016 15:24

Go and get a digi one but I see the lines too !

I've said this before on here but I was a shock baby in the days before fertility treatment existed. 21 years of marriage it took.

Notrevealingmyidentity · 01/01/2016 15:24

So it does happen.

Sunnydays321 · 01/01/2016 15:48

Oooohhh I see lines too!

Huge congratulations.

Ipushedmygrannyaffabus · 01/01/2016 16:25

I'm lying here in bed cos I feel wonderfully diabolically sick crying with joy, appreciation at all the lovely comments, and the most overwhelming relief that, at long long last, it's over. The tears, the heartache, the waiting, the hoping, the disappointments, the soul destroying jealousy you hide when friends had baby after baby, the wondering WHAT you have done wrong to deserve this. And happiness that my new little niece, born this morning, will have a playmate!

Please please keep your fingers crossed for me! And thank you again for sharing my joy. Miracles absolutely DO happen - even to me it seems!!!

Congrats! One tip: when you go to the GP to confirm it, do a blood test to check your progesterone.

Since you've a history of not ovulating, you may also have a history of low progesterone. Now it was obviously high enough to work this month, but now it needs to keep rising! If it isn't you can be prescribed progesterone suppositories (mmmm.....lovely) but you have to know if you need em first if you know what I mean!

Devora · 01/01/2016 16:37

All fingers crossed for you, OP! It took me years to conceive, too - I can hardly breathe, reading your posts!
