A bit embarrassed to ask but three weeks ago i had a tiny bit of bleeding after orgasm through external masturbation. i saw midwife who said cervix was closed and found heartbeat and all was fine at 20 week scan and i have a fundal placenta. but i have been having strong urges and to scared to masturbate again even though before hand i had done it several times and not bled at all.

I really wouldn't worry about it, if it were me Blush.

I would like to think your midwife would have warned you if any, err, activities, were off limits.

Speaking as someone whose husband went right off sex during a very long pregnancy, I think you need to do what you have to do Blush .

really embarrassed but i bled again after for a couple of wipes. im sure i have a weak cervix or something bad will happen

Also I've noticed after doing it I sting a little down their when wiping and for the first wee after and that's it.
I have a Doppler and just used it and heartbeat is still their nice and clear

Not to vigorous haha don't worry neither would I.
Timed heartbeat at 144 sounds just like horses galloping so she's alive in their.
I wonder if it's something external causing the blood . It was pink and just for two wipes. I had bleeding at four weeks for seven days and then this happened after orgasm twice now once about nine weeks and once seventeen weeks. Scared I have an incompetent cervix I know placenta is really high so it can't be that.

its a bit stingy down their still. im thinking this must be something external happening.
urine being tested at doctors today as they testing for dehydration due to vomiting i assume theyll check for infection as well?

They probably won't test for an infection they will test for what they've been told to. If you're concerned speak to your midwife. Did you discuss your anxiety with her as without wishing to sound harsh it doesn't sound like you are feeling anymore confident or relaxed in your pregnancy yet?

You don't sound harsh :) your right I'm no more relaxed I'm just sitting waiting for the worst to happen. I just can't picture a happy healthy baby at the end of all this. I don't believe good stuff happens to me.
I haven't spoken to her and I'm a bit scared to if I'm honest

as far as i understand (and can tell) it all changes down there - many women report that their genitals are swolen/engorged, discharge is different, then there's piles, varicous veins on the labia etc...

i'm no expert, but you probably dont need to be too worried. maybe take it extra gentle on yourself Wink and mention it to your mw next time you see her.

Please please tell your MW how you are feeling, i enjoyed my pregnancy ok except when i was grossly overdue and you deserve the same.

So scared today. Triage won't see me and doctor won't check me over as I'm not bleeding now and if it's a problem they say they can't do anything anyway to just sit it out. :(
I'm terrified. Terrified my cervix is opening and I'll loose my baby early.
I can't cope with this fear. My midwife hasnt called back and I don't know what to do.

Ginger the bleeding could easily be from something completely harmless such as a cervical erosion. I had light bleeding at 27 weeks and it turned out to be this. It's totally harmless and it can trigger off bleeding after sex or masturbation.

Thank you. The blood is old blood as well. But I'm so scared as if I do have this I won't find out unless I loose the baby and no one is prepared to check me over. I'm left with this awful anxiety. It could be harmless but what if it's not? What if this is my cervix opening early. I can't shake the thought from my head and I've had tears flow several times today. I can feel baby moving and I hate the thought I could loose her. I can't stand this

I am not a medical professional at all (NOT AT ALL) but i dont think your cervix would dilate without cramps.

Please please can u go a walk in pregnancy clinic? Your anxiety is worrying me.

Thanks,with an incompetent cervix I've read the cervix opens painlessly which is why no one ever knows until the last minute.
I've googled for one in my area but can't find one and the epu here is only for 18 weeks and under I'm 21 tommorow.
I have suffered anxiety for years about various things. I'm hurting my baby aren't I being like this. I feel like such a failure as a mum :(

you are not hurting your baby and you are not a bad mum!

if you continue to feel extremely anxious perhaps you should head to A&E?
I know it's not ideal, but they might be able to get you a scan to at least reassure you until you can talk to your midwife/gp about things.

My oh has suggested a and e but I feel silly.
Midwife app is 3rd December.
We have just felt her kick me several times lol.

No I havnt but they don't check until you have a early loss which is a horrible thought I have to loose her before they consider it

You might find that if you speak to your midwife about your anxiety they can refer you for a cervical scan to put your mind at rest. It's a normally different scan to the 'usual' they scan vaginally if they can to get a clearer picture. They can't tell just by feel and a tummy scan doesn't give them a clear enough picture usually. They won't scan your cervix automatically with bleeding as bleeding is very common and has so many causes whilst an incompetent or short cervix is comparatively unusual.

You've diagnosed yourself with something rare via Google and now you're panicking.. Well done Hmm It sounds like you've scraped yourself and at worse it will be cervical erosion, you can ask your GP for an internal check up if you're still worried, . mine was very reassuring when I had an unexpected bleed. All ended fine. Light bleeding in pregnancy happens. NHS website is useful. Stop googling.
