I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.

There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos/
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk/
If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Reebok I am glad that comment gave you a laugh, anyway; there's nothing like a laugh as a boost. Good advice.
EMS That is great advice. Grin about polite request from DD. Youngsters are so much more resilient, as you say, than we realise; their minds are flexible,so they can adapt; no pre-conceived ideas. While I didn't go for it twice myself, from all I've seen on these threads, youngsters get over a period of comparative neglect as quickly as yours, generally.
I thought it was a good joke you made, Melleebacca and about sums it up.
Waves to Marvellous Meerka Your story is very apt.
Someone mentioned how difficult it is, to talk; and it is, because that involves opening the throat, and might bring on vomiting. Besides, one's voice sounds weak and strange. It's horrible having to talk. I've never forgotten that, as with a bad migraine it's just the same.
Purple Amblingaong and I hope Ican't is managing at work and everyone is just about surviving today. spandau I'm sure you don't look as if you've been dug up, and that you'll soon start regenerating...

In tears, been sent home from work as in just no use. Been sick about 20x already, I honestly feel like death and like my kidneys are just getting worse. Got a GP appt with another one this afternoon to try sort a phased return to work.
DP is off work tomorrow and Friday so may go to hosp in the morning as nothing is staying down at all, my head and eyes are fuzzy.
I'm going to be rude and just say a massive hi to everyone as can't see much on this shitty phone, I hope your all as well as can be ?
When will this end :(

Reebok · 14/10/2015 12:21

Hi all, hope everyone is coping.

Icant you poor thing! As your dp is off tomorrow, can he take you this evening after work? 20 vomits is not good! You really need help ASAP. Been worrying about you.

How is everyone managing today? So far so good for me...I'm 11+3 according to the last scan and 12+4 according to midwife...managing with low level nausea today. Even craving fatty foods like fried chicken which I never eat! Odd what our bodies crave in pregnancy. Fingers crossed today is the start of good days.

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 14/10/2015 12:41

He's on a 2pm-2am shift :( just so deflated. In bed with a bucket.
Oooh I'll keep my fingers crossed it'll last good for you reebok you deserve it at last! X

Reebok · 14/10/2015 12:49

Thanks for your kind words. Ah I see. Well please get him to take you tomorrow morning. Sending you gentle hugs.

Has anyone tried aloe vera juice? Read online it helps constipation and nausea. Had a few sips and it's taking away the yucky taste in my mouth.

bugista · 14/10/2015 13:14

I'm really glad your work sent you home icant, you are in NO fit state. Hope you managed to see the GP/get something sorted - let us know how you get on.

Reebok that's encouraging that you're feeling like eating, fingers crossed indeed. It was around 12 weeks that I started to have 'better' days.

Lucinda & Shoop apologies, I gave you the wrong EDD for Shoop! Kept getting March and May mixed up, sorry about that. Shoop and I are nearly EDD twins at end March.

I'm wfh today, vommed this morning and then really thought I was going to see my breakfast again but thankfully not. Finding working even from home quite tough but doing my best!

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 14/10/2015 14:01

Oh no bugista :(

Just had a phone call from DS nursery he's very poorly (and he's rarely ever poorly) so no rest for me!
I'm useless when he's poorly as he never is? I just panic? I've Drs after, do I need to make him an appt now too? :(

MotherofPearl · 14/10/2015 15:40

Oh goodness Icant, I really wish there was something concrete I could do to help. Sounds like you're really in crisis mode. Could you try contacting the Pregancy Sickness Support people through their website? I believe that they do have volunteers who can help. Hope your little boy is OK and that you can be admitted asap.
Bugista and Shoop, hope you're not doing too much, even if you are working from home. As and when I go back to work it will mainly be from home, but will have to go in 1-2 days a week. My work is a 2 hour commute away, mainly by train, so can't imagine how I will cope!
Reebok, I'm so glad to hear that you're having a better day. As you say, hopefully it's a sign of better things to come.
I'm very nauseous this afternoon but have only had 1 vom so far today, so I guess that's OK. When will the spitting end? It's really getting me down.

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 14/10/2015 15:49

Thank you MoP I keep meaning to ring them but don't agh I must do it!
Took DS to shop to get calpol and still temp not coming down and the poor thing has special needs so can't tell me what's up :(
Aw no the spitting and nausea is horrible - it just feels never ending doesn't it!

Corabell · 14/10/2015 16:53

Well the dry retching started this morning so I'm on the cyclizine properly now to try to pre-emptively deal with this. I feel like a zombie on it just now which I don't remember from the first pregnancy but I hope the drowsiness wears off - fortunately I'm not at work this week so I don't need to drive. I don't have the all consuming nausea but I'm sure it will arrive by the end of the week.

Sorry to read of your suffering. To the previous poster who is a teacher please stay off if you can! It's SUCH a physically demanding job at the best of times and it's not like you can hide at your desk quietly working.

Reebok · 14/10/2015 17:03

The spitting is horrible isn't it Mop and phlegm too? Makes me retch more! Hope it calms down for you soon.

Bugista and shoop I second Mops message...try not to work too hard as you will relapse.

Icant I feel awful for you...you poor thing. Hope ds is better soon. How old is he? Are there any family or friends who can help out today?

Corabell glad you're on meds...hope it kicks in for you soon but if it doesn't work like it didn't for me, don't be afraid to ask for something stronger. I'm on ondansetron this time and while the nausea is still constant I vomit a lot less. I'm the teacher....trying not to go back but I have a feeling my boss will push me to after half term by putting my pay down like she did last hg pregnancy. We have bills and dds nursery fees to pay so can't afford a loss in wages. Trying not to think about it just yet and am focussing on getting rest.

spandau1980 · 14/10/2015 17:04

I can't
Can you speak to your health visitor
You have to get the care you need or you could end up losing your baby ...
Seriously worried sick about you :(
Your oh WILL HAVE to come back!
Can't you stay with relatives .. temp docs with them ? You and your son.
You cannot go on like this hun xx

Meerka · 14/10/2015 17:49

agreed, icant you're really really in need of help

corabell some people find the cyclizine doziness wears off after 2-3 days. If not, there are other meds

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 14/10/2015 18:06

DS is 2.5 , Dr couldn't find a cause he's just cuddling up to me think I'll put him to bed soon and get some sleep so tomorrow comes quicker, I've been signed off for another week and promise I'll go to the hospital tomorrow as I've a few days where childcare will be sorted.
Thank you all for your kind words.
Oh only been in his job 6 weeks (after endless job searching for over 18months) and he's had a few times off already which is why he's so reluctant to now :(
cora if the drowsiness doesn't wear off its worth changing meds?
Thank you all I feel so bad coming on here and just ranting to you all the time.
I couldn't get through this without you lovely ladies Flowers x

spandau1980 · 14/10/2015 19:07

I can't
YOU come first
I understand about job I understand about oh not wanting to
But YOU have to come first
If this was cancer or chemo or a car crash he d have too you d have too
I really worry about you alone with out proper hydration and a kidney infection ect
GET TO HOSPITAL TOMORROW AND STAY TIL INFECTION UNDER CONTROL ...PLEASE FlowersFlowers

Reebok · 14/10/2015 19:24

Icant I agree with spandau. Please go to the hospital and get admitted tomorrow morning....do not get pushed into being sent home. You need to stay a while and oh is going to just have to deal with it. I'm sure his bosses will understand if he explains your in hospital. Sorry if we sound pushy. We are all just very worried about your health and do not want you to deteriorate further. Sending you gentle hugs and Flowers

My day got worse. These headaches are getting bad and make me feel so sick and weak. I'm wondering if it's because doctor increased my dosage last week to 4mg, 8mg, 4mg...suppose it's worth it to feel better in other ways...just that I can't stand the light at all today. Feel like a vampire! Well the day is over for me...in bed already...now if only I could shut off from the pain in my head and sleep before I vomit again.

LucindaE · 14/10/2015 19:47

I can't Just dashing on to say I so agree with Reebok. It sounds as if you need admitting. You are definitely not up to working. It's tough on your OH, I know, and on the poor unwell LO, but you seem too ill to delay.

OP posts:
ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 14/10/2015 19:57

I promise I will tomorrow ladies
:)

reebok that majorly sucks :( I hope tommorow it starts good and ends good for you.

Thank you all I am stubborn and need telling off Flowers

Reebok · 15/10/2015 10:00

Morning all, hope you're all having an ok morning.

Icant hope you have managed to get to the hospital. Let us know how you get on.

Had an awful night. The left side of my back, shoulder blade and front up to my breast bone killed. It was so painful. Turned out to be trapped wind. Has anyone experienced this before?? Here's hoping for a better day today.

LucindaE · 15/10/2015 11:00

ICan't I hope you have been admitted? The fuzzy head and eyes are surely a sign of severe dehydration. You would have collapsed if you had tried to keep going any more. Just read on recent posts and I see that we are all unanimous in urging admission.
Corabell Sorry that the dry retching has started. As Meerka says, people do seem to get accustomed to cyclizine so that the zombie feeling wears off.
Reebok Poor you. I am sorry to hear that; I do vaguely remember that; maybe one gets it gasping for breath when having a bad retching fit? I't's very horrible. How is OH behaving now?
EMS I loved that story about your DD's matter of fact request when you were in mid puke.
I too, hope bugista and shoop aren't working too hard from home.
spandau I forgot to comment on how when I was offline with problems with Windows 10, you had dreadful drains problems, and at one time, no loo. I hope that, and the rats, have been remedied properly?
Apologies to anyone rudely ignored.

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 15/10/2015 12:55

Ds is really poorly so I haven't yet :( his temp isn't coming down and now he's got a swollen eye, I feel rough but I don't feel it as much as worried about him if that makes sense?
He's got Drs at 4:40. I'm a bit of a worrier, he's never poorly but had pneumonia as a baby where we nearly lost him so I panic!

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 15/10/2015 12:57

His poor eye! Just randomly appeared :(

Please, do take it as easy as you can though icant. We're kind of worried about you.
