I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.

There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos/
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk/
If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

spandau You deserve a medal; and they were all Hyperemesis pregnancies, my goodness.I'm sorry about your losses. It is hard enough to have a miscarriage without Hyperemesis. I can't remember the name of the drug, sadly, but wouldn't it be nice if they had a safe in pregnancy version which could routinely be prescribed to combat the feeling of misery that goes with Hyperemesis...
MotherofPearl I am glad you feel a bit better today.
Ican't As others say, don't stay away because you are down; this thread is all about people being able to have a good moan.
Gingerlady123 Seven times is a fair amount. I hope that is unusual, or Mother Hen thinks you shouldn't be going in to work with those *** people at all tomorrow.
I think I forgot to wish Reebok good luck with her trip and family party. She deserves a break.

Thanks ladies I appreciate it.
My sick note runs out on 2nd does that mean I'm back tomorrow (2nd) or 3rd? It says from 21/10/15-02/11/15 so panicking I'm back tomorrow

Gingerlady123 · 01/11/2015 17:30

Thank you lucinda, it is very unusual. I've had a couple days this week at 2-3 times and some days none.
It did ease a lot from week 18 but back to this again today. Just hoping fluids stay down tonight though

Ems10000 · 01/11/2015 17:40

icant the dates are inclusive on a sick note so you would be due back the day after it ends. I wouldn't push it though, get another if you need or ask for a phased return as going back may really take it out of you and make you feel worse. reebok I hope you enjoy your day and everyone is looking after you! spandau you are one strong lady, i hope this passes for you soon. With regards to HG and mental health I think the two go hand in hand as it is so draining and isolating. I honestly don't know what I would have done without being able to post on here.

spandau1980 · 01/11/2015 17:55

Back tomorrow I think? Call asap to moz and get signed off again xx

spandau1980 · 01/11/2015 18:16

Ems10000 this board is amazing
Ppl who understand and it's easy to chat too ...
Makes you feel better to know ur not alone.. even tho u don't wish this on anyone :/

eallison88 · 01/11/2015 18:18

Inclusive dates, so back to work on 3rd. If you're not ready, speak to docs tomorrow.

icant come moan here, it's what the board is for.

My son projectile vomited just before we my dad's yesterday... convered me, the wicker chair I was sat on, and the floor and wall behind me. It was coming out of his nose. And I tried to catch it in the muslin I was holding... This did nothing but deflect the vomit so it went on the rug behind us. Pretty spectacular!

spandau1980 · 01/11/2015 19:04

My twins were awful lol...
No muslin cloths
We used TOWELS :)

Reebok · 01/11/2015 20:32

Well I made it through the day guys only to vomit twice on the way home and once more when I got in. I think I kind of held it in today to be honest as didn't want to spoilt the party. Everyone was lovely and looked after dd for me while I basically sat there. Feeling like utter crap now and like I've gone back a step...wondering why the hell I bothered leaving my home? What's the point if I'm just going to be sick? Haven't caught up on thread yet so hope everyone survived today. X

shoopshoopsong · 01/11/2015 20:46

Well done for going Reebok make sure you take it easy tonight and tomorrow

spandau1980 · 01/11/2015 21:05

Iv thrown up twice this evening in quick succession ..
Going backwards here not forwards .. Grrr 13 weeks +3 may as well be week 10 again

Reebok well done but I think the hormones gotta come out at some point and once over exerted and tired ..POW

Another day of vomiting amd feeling sick ALL day to look forward to guys !!! Sleep well :/ see you on the other side Halloween Confused

eallison88 · 01/11/2015 21:50

reebok try not to be too disheartened. It's unlikely you'll have a backwards step, you're just very tired having used a lot of energy (even if it feels like you just sat there). Can you habe a quiet few days in bed to recover and replenish energy?

spandau fingers crossed it's just a short blip! Also, towels might be a good idea, we're just had the same thing again. This time he was lying in his moses basket, so managed yo coat the whole thing - but vommed atsuch an angle to propell it beyond the confines of tye basket onto the wall and floor. I might just cover everything in a 2 metre radius of him in towels when it hits 6 pm! And here was me thinking vomiting would be out of my life once I gave birth!!!

shoopshoopsong · 01/11/2015 22:05

It's a whole new kind of vomit isn't it ealli still catching you off guard though! Towel covered house seems sensible.

Spandau I had a big blip I can't remember if it was 13 or 14 weeks but now 19 tomorrow although it's still horrible, it hasn't been as bad as it was then.. So hopefully you'll improve soon too

spandau1980 · 02/11/2015 02:48

It's 2 45 and just woke up feeling panicky
Dehydrated and reflux again
Feel. I can't breath ...
Empty stomach but won't be eating :(
Water n ice helping...
Can't even get a good night's sleep any more ...
You ll look back at this eallison m laugh ... I do but at time it's stressful.
Shoop I hope ur right I NEED to start feeling better too many ppl need me back to some sort of normal xx

Reebok · 02/11/2015 08:19

I was up being sick all night and have woken up feeling rotten. Haven't been sick through the night in a while. Feel like bawling like a baby and back to snapping at dd. Oh wouldn't drop her off as he had to leave for work earlier today. Gotten me pissed off as I'm going to struggle to drop her off feeling like this. It's crazy...one day away from my comfort zone of home and I'm sick as a dog again. Burning acid, nausea, vomiting. I hate this. 14+3 today.

I think I remember having a really tough 13 weeks with dd spandau...it happened again this time and then some odd ones at 14 weeks so here's hoping all it is this time. 15 weeks was a little better and gone by 16 weeks.

spandau1980 · 02/11/2015 09:08

I'm 6 days behind you .. crying and vomiting too reebok.
Hard to imagine that maybe maybe maybe by week 16 it will have VANISHED

Thrown up already .. me and OH had massive row tgis am ...

Whoop whoop x

Corabell · 02/11/2015 09:28

Hello everyone. So sorry for everyone who is suffering. I've been getting worse for the passed couple of days and I am vomiting most of what I eat or drink (though I retain it for about an hour at a time). I'm taking cyclizine and stemitil after being at out of hours on Saturday night but the vomiting is breaking through. I have my booking appointment today and I don't even feel I can drag myself in there :(

eallison88 · 02/11/2015 10:50

corabell it'd be good if you can get to docs and get some stronger meds.

reebok is completely understandable that you've had a bad night, you pushed yourself further than you have for a while. How did school drop off go? I hope you're now in bed/on the sofa watching crap telly and dosing. Fingers crossed this is just one bad day.

Corabell · 02/11/2015 11:14

It's just the midwives though. First time round the midwife told me sickness "was side effect of pregnancy" and totally brushed me off. I am at a different surgery now though.

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 02/11/2015 11:16

Been re admitted, sickness terrible, weeing blood, bp 152/110 (normally low) pulse 127 and swollen ankles so signs my kidneys failing. +++ketones in wee, feeling very sorry for myself

LucindaE · 02/11/2015 12:50

Ican't You poor thing, that sounds awful. Does lupus affect kidneys?
At least your getting some proper treatment in hospital. Hope you get a lot better soon. Obviously, it is out of the question for you to return to work. for a while.
Corabell I am angry at that show of ignorance from the midwives at your old surgery. I'm glad you've changed. It doesn't sound like your c urrent meds are helping a lot, so bossy Mother Hen suggests as others do seeing he doctor about an alternative.
Reebok and spandau poor both of you. Sorry OH's being less than helpful. Reebok I'm happy the party went well and sorry you had a bad journey back.Hopefully, the after effects will be less tomorrow.
spandau Really longing for a good day for you.
shoop I am so glad things are a bit better overall.
eallison What do they say at the surgery about poor baby's projectile vomiting? Do they say it will wear off? It must be quite nerve wracking.
Apologies to anyone rudely overlooked. Back soon.

Afternoon all. At work so quick reply and will reply properly later.
After vomiting Seven times yesterday I kept down two litres of fluid during the evening and night so pleased with that as it means my body probably isn't dehydrated right now and managed 750ml so far today but feeling very sick and wondering if it's going to come up soon.
To scared to take Phenergan now as 20 weeks and don't want to harm baby and not sure if can still take I have loads left over as never took full dosage.
I can't- hope your ok now. Your in the best place
Spandau and reebok- sorry your suffering :(
Sorry if I overlooked anyone
