I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.

There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos/
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk/
If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy

I would like to thank Everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

I'm
16 weeks two days. I see no end in sight yet. Even five minutes without feeling sick is a blessing but it's not very often. Every hour is all about surviving it.
I hope yours calms down a lot sooner for you.

spandau1980 · 05/10/2015 20:56

16 weeks and still.like this ??
Oh lord help us x xx
Wish human pregnancy was like cats we d all be done in 9 weeks

Gingerlady123 · 05/10/2015 21:00

I hope it's better for you. Hopefully your feel a lot better very soon :)
That would be amazing. These weeks have gone so slowly for me.

spandau1980 · 05/10/2015 21:06

It's horrific isn't it
And quiet traumatic
It's like losing yourself
I pray that in a few days you ll be sick free xxx
I pray to get to where you are ... still sane ;)

Skiptonlass · 05/10/2015 22:03

Hi ladies!

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to you all for the support I've had on this thread.

I had my little boy this morning via section and I thiiiiink the sickness is on the wane! I was sick first thing and then had a very weird sick and dizzy sell after delivery (but I think that was down to my blood sugar being through the floor or the massive amount of drugs i had today.)

A million thanks to you all - I can't quite believe I got through this pregnancy but I did. To everyone still suffering, I can only say my genuine sympathies and to take it one day at a time. It is all worth it !

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 05/10/2015 22:04

Ah congratulations skipton fab news!! Flowers x

Melleebacca · 05/10/2015 22:09

Hi all- sorry to hear you're all doing so poorly.
Spandau - things to help constipation - licorice, water, Lactulose, prunes. It's hell to be clogged up, even worse with piles!
Lemons - welcome, so sorry to hear you're feeling unwell already. I was nauseous from 4 and a half weeks, vomiting from 5w5d and was off work from 6w5d till 23w. This is my first. One of the symptoms of HG is that it starts earlier than normal MS.
Ginger - I was on metachlorpromide first off, and it worked for 3 days before I hurled it up, then I've been on ondansetron since. My GP gave me like 250 pills of metachlorpromide so I'm pretty sure it can be used for longer than 5 days. Also, you will know you're dehydrated when you only pee once in 24hrs. I survived for weeks on about 700ml of water a day, when I usually can easily drink the recommended 2L

I have been feeling crazy nauseous the last two days, barely got out of bed yesterday, so back on the ondansetron for awhile. Managed to survive 10 days without it. So looking forward to the pink castle! Have been gathering ingredients to make all the foods that I've been missing in the last 9 months so I'm going on a baking and freezing spree next week!

Melleebacca · 05/10/2015 22:11

Congrats skipton! All the best for you and your little bundle! Flowers

MotherofPearl · 05/10/2015 22:17

Just wanted to say big congratulations to Skipton! Flowers
Mellee, hopefully you're not far behind? I look forward to hearing your news.
Hope Spandau, Ginger, Icant, Reebok and everyone else gets a good rest tonight, and maybe a more bearable day tomorrow. I saw a trailer on TV tonight for a programme about men who join the SAS and how tough they are. Said to DP 'Ha. I'd like to see them survive 9 months of HG. That's tough.' Night all.

shoopshoopsong · 05/10/2015 22:41

Congratulations Skipton that's really wonderful news so happy for you and thanks for sharing the happiness with us!

MoP that's great comment about SAS.. My DH is trying really hard not to complain about the little cold he has for fear of being headbutt end by me. Oh and glad the coffee cooler worked for you too! Weirdly my nearest Costa is at the hospital so really does feel like medicine !

bugista · 05/10/2015 22:43

Congratulations Skipton that's amazing!! Hope the nausea goes for good. Enjoy every second with your gorgeous new bundle.

Sorry everyone else is suffering, it's a trial like no other! Am so glad we have this place to get support xx

TwoDrifters · 05/10/2015 23:45

Skipton that's wonderful! Hope you're planning some amazing meals to celebrate once the sickness has fully gone.

Congratulations on your gorgeous baby boy too! Grin Star

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 06/10/2015 07:54

Morning MoP bad night here, DS was up 3/4 times with bad dreams I think. I had a horrible nightmare which woke me and couldn't get back to sleep then as was too scared and the sickness started up.
Can't barely keep my eyes open! Still signed off sick so once I've dropped DS at nursery I'm going to have a snooze in the hope that helps.
Hope you all had a good night mop, ginger, reebok, lucinda, spandau and everyone else! Here's to another day!

Reebok · 06/10/2015 09:03

Congrats Skipton! That's wonderful news. Enjoy cuddles with baby.

Had a rough night. Keep tossing and turning and body aches so struggle to sleep. Sciatic pains have kicked in again. Shattered and I know being tired aggravates sickness so expecting another crappy day. Dreamt I was hg free with a lovely bump. It was wonderful.

Sorry your day has already been rough Icant. Get some rest!

Spandau if you are severely constipated to the point your poop (sorry tmi) is actually stuck in your bottom then having things with fibre or lactolouse etc will not help. You need an enema ASAP. Get oh to buy you one today.

Waves to everyone else!

spandau1980 · 06/10/2015 09:12

Congrats Skipton xx

Reebok do you have horrific stomach ache if as stomach so empty
??
Just thrown again ... can't keep anything down again
Ondanstron helped i was still sick 2/3 times a day
But stopped it sat .
Been non stop everything input in is coming up
Frightened I'll need hospital seems worse with this preg as cant keep anything in ??
Can't look after myself properly washing my hair and showering makes me puke cleaning teeth puke walking puke
How do ppl keep going like this ??xxx

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 06/10/2015 09:27

It sounds like you'll need hospital :( it's amazing how quickly you feel so much better though - iv fluids and anti sickness is a miricle and helps get on top of things. Had a couple of admissions , but now I'm home it's started back up again :/
Really hope you get sorted - and don't leave it too long spandau.
Oh no sorry about your bad night reebok sounds like a nice dream though!
I'm off to nap - though forgot I've got about 6 deliveries today so hopefully they come close together or it will be an interrupted nap!

Reebok · 06/10/2015 09:32

I get a burning in my chest from reflux and ache in my tummy when I need to vomit. Spandau you are dehydrated!!! Get to the hospital. Let oh complain and deal with the kids. You will make yourself worse without help. The hospital will also be able to sort the constipation so you can get back on ondansetron. Please go today.

Icant that's the thing with admissions you feel wonderful when you're there but at home without the drips it starts again. It's worth going though as things only get worse if you don't.

eallison88 · 06/10/2015 09:46

spandau ignore trying to brush your teeth; try and find a mouthwash (possibly a fruity child's one?).

Skipton that's lovely, lovely news. Enjoy all the food and the cuddles with your bundle of loveliness!

Ems10000 · 06/10/2015 10:05

Huge congratulations skipton lovely news! Sorry to hear everyone is suffering so badly spandau the hospital is the best place for you. I'm feeling very fed up, sickness is back, can't sleep and I have rib flare. Hope everyone has a better day and gets plenty of rest x

BarmeeMarmee · 06/10/2015 10:07

Congratulations Skipton that's great news!

Sorry everyone is having such a rough time.

Spandau rather than stopping the ondansetron you need to keep taking it and then deal with the constipation as Reebok says.

I did think I'd turned a corner (now approaching 18weeks) but the last few days I've been feeling horrendous again. Not being too sick but just feeling horrific and so so drained.

On the plus side I've won my fight with HR - they've agreed not to dock my pay for being off with HG Grin.

spandau1980 · 06/10/2015 10:08

He doesn't seem bothered just says for me to calm down or you ll be alright attitude

Gingerlady123 · 06/10/2015 10:28

Congratulations skipton- hope you and baby are well.
Spandau- your oh needs to be told. I'd love to see him cope with what your going through, ask him how your meant to keep hydrated if you can't even keep water down? Tell him your going to the hospital with or without his support and he will just have to suck it up. Sorry if that sounds harsh but it's so upsetting that his not properly supporting you.

Me - having my first good day of this pregnancy. So surprised. No major nausea as of yet. Fingers crossed ive finally got to the so called "sixteen week" and it stops here. I don't hold out hope though, felt so rough yesterday.
Hope everyone else's day gets better

lemonslemonslemons · 06/10/2015 12:38

Hi everyone!

I just threw up again at work. One of my colleagues was drying her hands so thankfully didn't hear me. I am as far away from the toilets as you can get though so have to run there and then try to get through a magnetic door which never wants to open for me! I am only 4+2 so god knows how I'll cope when I get worse!!

Gingerlady123 · 06/10/2015 13:04

Lemons- it's horrible at work isn't it when you think people might hear you. Hope your ok now. You may be further along than you think when you have your scan? Have you seen your doctor yet?

I spoke to soon, vomiting now. Twice at work. Horrible. I get so nervous that someone will walk in. Someone did a few weeks ago.

LucindaE · 06/10/2015 13:04

Hello, everyone. I am so sorry I was so long away, yesterday I couldn't get on at all, I had to getta Mario the Computer Man to see to my PC and debugga it, a virus must have got past kaspersky security, but all is sorted out. My screen was covered in ads, and it was obvoiusly a scam, asking for my personal details to have the ads removed.
Welcome to new people. I'm going to read through the bit I missed, but saw we have a lemon and a ginger, and happy news from SkiptonLass
