Other than the obvious engagement, nesting, the Strong Braxton Hicks, the show etc.......are there any clues that you have experienced that Labour could be just around the corner.....

Only I am full term now, baby is NOT engaged, I have had no show, baby is more active than ever, (is even turning from cephalic position!)I certainly am NOT nesting, and feel the same as I did at 30 weeks!!!!

I think I'll start on the curries and nipple tweaking!

AARAGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

My baby is now 3 days late, my in-laws have just arrived for the bank holiday even though they were asked not to come until baby arrived!!!!....(but they thought they would come yesterday as my husband is bound to be tired having to do all the work......!!!!), Sky sports is currently on at full volume with the B*** football, about 3 newspapers are all over the floor, my MIL has wound my 3 year old up to a completely hyper state. ....and I am not speaking to DH as 'THEY ARE HIS PARENTS!!!'

My blood pressure was too low on Weds at my check up, its not now!! Get me into labour and out of here!

batey · 01/06/2002 12:36

You poor thing. It must be a parent thing as my dad scatters papers all over the floor too, and my mum HAS to take her handbag wherever she goes in the house, so both dds are constantly tripping over their stuff. There is another thread with many hints on how to get labour going, I think it's "2nd labour stopped, how to get it going again" . Why dont you go out for a walk on your own to get some space, a long walk got my 2nd baby going, that and cleaning the kitchen floor! Keep us posted!

Oh Eve you did make me laugh. Hope things get better, perhaps the baby doesnt want to come out and meet all that commotion. Good luck and fingers crossed.

jasper · 01/06/2002 21:50

Eve what a nightmare.
Could you fake some kind of a fit?
good luck!!

jasper · 01/06/2002 21:53

...and if you have not done it already, go on strike. Pretend you have serious leg pains and can't walk. Don't do any housework , not even making tea. Stay in the bedroom demanding exotic snacks.

pupuce · 02/06/2002 08:15

I think Jasper's idea is excellent - retreat to your room with a good book and tell them to manage the house. At least they (PIL) will be there fro soemthing now

batey · 05/06/2002 19:32

Eve, how was the rest of the w/end. Any joy yet?!
Talking to dh yet?!

No action yet...now 7 days overdue, and very very fed up! Had an ante-natal this morning and midwife did a 'sweep'. Shw warned me things could happen tonight, but so far not even a slight twinge or even a Braxton Hicks.

In-laws left on Monday after I lost my temper. My DS got into bed with me at 3am, I didn't get back to sleep until 5am, then DS woke at 6am wanting stories. At 9am I told DH I was completely shattered and going back to bed, then my FIL switched on the football with full volume and MIL was playing 'Monsters' with DS who was screaming at the top of his voice. I stood at the top of the stairs and roared ...'would someone in this house please let me have 5 minutes peace to have some sleep'

So I got silence, I went to bed, was dropping of when MIL decided she needed a bath, in the bathroom next to my bedroom, in and out about 4 times, running the bath, and then switched on the pump (its a noisy spa bath)!!! End of sleep!!

At that point I got up, dressed and walked out of the house in tears ( I was so tired). They had gone by the time I got back!!

DH is quite relieved they have gone as well, he finds them quite hard work as well.
