I hate.....

a)constipation. it's cruel to make PG women have it.
b)maternity clothes that I have to constantly pull up or pull down. I have under the bump jeans and over the bump jeans but both fall down. I have one...just ONE top that covers my whole belly. all the rest leave a wide gap between my trousers and top. I simply refuse to believe that I'm that much of an odd shape that nothing fits.
c)thrush....again.
d)numb hips at night.
e)knickers that dig in even though I've purposely bought bigger ones to stop them digging in.
f)eating horrible food to increas my iron levels(and so making the constipation worse)
g)eating horrible food to try and amke the constipation better.
h)And finally, although I'm sure there is 50 other things I could moan about if I only had the brian power to rememeber them....Still having weeks of this to go!

Ok, sympathy now please.

at brian power!!

right .

constipation - boring i know, but lots of fluid !! dried fruit too , apricots, figs & prunes

maternity clothes - I found H&M and Dorothy Perkins did excellent, well priced and well fitting clothes..

thrush - natural yoghurt

numb hips - not a lot to be done except vary sleeping position and use a pillow to support bits of you

knickers- Asda value pants. £5 for 5 pairs, bought them 2 sizes too big and they fitted until i gave birth!!

horrid food - eat red meat, lots of leafy green veg

horrrible food..see above

and the rest - you are pregnant! whinge away!!

((((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))))))

and sympathy..xxxxxxxx

SpaceCadet · 25/11/2006 17:29

never mind..sit down and have a nice glass of gaviscon

no..only joking..the last weeks of pregnancy were hell for me so you have my sympathies..however there advantages..you have a nice shelf to rest your dinner on
you dont need to worry about sucking your stomach in

you will very soon have a gorgeous baby!

cupcakes · 25/11/2006 17:30

I have the constipation too - only since this week though.
I hate the hips thing. I normally sleep on my back but it's impossible at the moment so go from one side to the other and wake up feeling numb on both sides. At least my spd seems better so I'm not srying with the apin every time I turn over.
My sciatica is aching today and I am really tired and want to sleep but ds and dd have been bickering all day.
And the plumber came today to look at the work left to do (which he was supposed to have started two weeks ago) and ummed and ahhed when I asked if he thought he's be finished in three weeks (due date!!) which then caused me to cry for 10 minutes after he left, my mind filled with images of a dug up kitchen floor, no hot water and a new baby. In fact, I'm starting to well up again just thinking about it now. And dh just keeps saying 'it'll be fine' which is NOT reassuring.

can I have some sympathy too please?

cupcakes · 25/11/2006 17:32

And my trousers are a right royal pain too. My lovely formes one are being pushed down by the bump and are too uncomfortable to wear in the evening. I bought some Isabella Oliver soft trousers last week in desperation which are comfy for the evening at least.

lulumama · 25/11/2006 17:34

hugs all round for all the pregnant ladies........(((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))

Scootergirl · 25/11/2006 17:35

Kiwi fruit is great for sorting out the constripation as I remember.
As for knickers... leave them off!

SpaceCadet · 25/11/2006 17:37

on the practical note though..as lulumama said, plenty of fruit, fluids etc, also try taking any iron remedy with a glass of fresh orange as this helps iron absorption.
dorothy perkins do a good range of maternity wear. also as it doesnt get worn a lot, you can get some lovely maternity clothes on ebay.
blooming marvellous do a nice range too, and you can do it all online.
numb hips, try popping a pillow under the side you lie on to cushion your hips, i suffered with the same prob.

lulumama · 25/11/2006 17:38

and i think tea & coffee interfere with iron absorbtion

have you tried spatone....has been recommended on here instead of iron tablets?

nutcracker · 25/11/2006 17:39

I knew this would be you.

Just think of that lovely baby smell and his little chubby fingers and toes.

lulumama · 25/11/2006 17:39

spatone

LadyTophamHatt · 25/11/2006 17:47

I'm also sick to tha back teeth of having the change my knickers 600 times a day.
Panty liners make the thrush worse but if I go withoutt panty liners...well...you know!!

I must have 30 pairs of knickers and ALL of the annoy me!

Oh and another one...
i)Washing up. I get back ache from leaning forward to do it soahve to turn side ways to stop the back ache which mean I have one arm up to the elbow in the sink and the other reaching riiiiight around me.

FFS I hate being PG!

And now...I've got to f*cking cook dinner to make more washing up.

OP posts:
lulumama · 25/11/2006 17:48

use paper plates ! and get fish & chips tonight or something !

SpaceCadet · 25/11/2006 17:50

WASH UP!!!!!
one of the benfits of being heavily pregnant is that you can not get near the sink, thus exusing you from washing up!

taylormama · 25/11/2006 17:52

enjoying your pregnancy then .... i know i waited in vain to bloom etc etc - hey ho 'tis all worth it when you hold your baby (well most of the time he he he). I know what you mean about maternity clothes - i spent months pulling trousers up every 3 seconds - Dotty P's seemed to have the best fit for jeans (i still have nappy brain and my DS is 25 weeks old). As for cooking - sod it, order takeaway and get your feet up. xxxxx

3andnomore · 25/11/2006 17:53

Oh thank you for just reminding me just WHY I don't ever want to be pg again!
I do feel sorry for ya!
For low Iron levels, have you tried Spatone...tis brilliant stuff...it's sachets of really iron rich mineral water that you take in OJ and it works quicker and better then the tablets, as it is easier apsorbed and it doesn't make you constipated!

Podmog, I'm 33 wks with No4.
(actaullY am I 34 weeks....I dunno....I know I'm not 40 weeks)

MV, I'm a size 10-12 when not PG but more a 12-14 in maternity clothes.
I think my problem is that my bump is really really low so under the bump things have no chance of staying up because theeres nothing there to cling to and because its so low the over the bump stuff only comes to my belly button now so doesn't actually reach over the the bump.
I measured my bump earlier and I'm the same size now as I was at virtually full term with Ds3 so I can safely say I'm mahooooosive!

and I get breathless from just walking down the stairs. And I have to sit and recover for ten minutes.
And I can't get comfy on the sofa so end up squished up lying down and then get huge head rush when I attempt to get up.

LadyTophamHatt · 25/11/2006 18:25

Me too cupcakes.

theres thats another one

j)breathlessness when doing anything except sitting down.

That'll teach you to have sex, won't it. I hope you've learnt your lesson young lady.

Never mind, soon it'll be post birth piles, stitches, scremaing baby, sore nipples, babypoo everywhere.... oh happy days. Hahahahaha!

LadyTophamHatt · 25/11/2006 18:55

You know what soupy?
I'd rather have ALL those things right now that still be PG for about 6 weeks.
Having a newborn with all the post brith ailments will be the easy bit.

Bliemy having triplet newborns would be easier than this.

Ohhh, what a happy soul I am today!
