I hate.....

a)constipation. it's cruel to make PG women have it.
b)maternity clothes that I have to constantly pull up or pull down. I have under the bump jeans and over the bump jeans but both fall down. I have one...just ONE top that covers my whole belly. all the rest leave a wide gap between my trousers and top. I simply refuse to believe that I'm that much of an odd shape that nothing fits.
c)thrush....again.
d)numb hips at night.
e)knickers that dig in even though I've purposely bought bigger ones to stop them digging in.
f)eating horrible food to increas my iron levels(and so making the constipation worse)
g)eating horrible food to try and amke the constipation better.
h)And finally, although I'm sure there is 50 other things I could moan about if I only had the brian power to rememeber them....Still having weeks of this to go!

Ok, sympathy now please.

Bugger the washing up. Put your feet up - if you still can! - and have lots of chocolate and crisps!

LTH ... any reason why you are trying to boost your iron levels? I only ask because it isn't a 'given' that pg women have low iron .... doctors seem to chuck it at you just because you are pregnant .... too much iron isn't a good thing and like you say it can make you constipated.
Have you had a blood test to check it? If it is low then obviously you need to boost it but you don't need to if it isn't low.
My iron levels were excellent when pregnant ... with no boosting needed.

I'm having a homebirth ghosty, so my iron levels have to be at a certain level for some reason. I had to do this when I had Ds3 at home too (but didn't have the constipation)
MW said they aren't miles off the correct level but should be abit higher.

I've got dried apricots in the cupboard, which the MW recommmended but quite honestly, they are RANK!

MV, you'll be needing it yourself before long won't you??

LTH, I soak the dried apricots in orange juice over night in the fridge, then wizz them with the blender and put them on ice cream. Much nicer and they last a week if you do loads.

Or I also take lactulose which def helps with constipation.

M&S do long tops (and I need the long tops being tall). Thats if you can be bothered to buy anything at this stage. Also saw someone suggest wearing mens vests under your clothes. That way at least your bump is warm!

Im afraid I have no sympathy left though as keeping it all for myself being 33 weeks preg too and having all the same symptoms (although not with no. 4 so maybe I will spare some sympathy for you)!!

Oh hello you. Constipation - thought I'd seen the back of that with the first trimester, but no. Prunes (vanilla prunes from Sainsburys are actually nice). For me, not eating bread/pasta also does the trick. Risked lasagne last weekend and regretted it all week. Clothes - weird bump band thing from harryduley.co.uk that someone else recommended. Know it's a bit late to be buying new stuff, but still nearly two months of exposed belly (in December!) persuaded me, and you can apparently wear them to keep your tummy warm while BFing.

For those of you wanting a homebirth and worried about iron levels see:

?You can't have a home birth, because....?

I had to fight to get my homebirth because of low iron levels but I got there in the end.
