more than a baby in the womb

At what stage of pregnancy can the scan prove that you have more than a baby in the womb?

My understanding is as early as 5/6 weeks sometimes but if you were going to pay to find out I would probably wait until 8/9 weeks.

What else would be in there?

I'm also another one who would like to know what you mean. Do you mean the gender as in the baby will then be referred to as girl or boy therefore, more than a baby?

I found out at 7+4 that I was carrying id twins. But id venture that they (and/or the sacs) can be seen earlier... If you mean that ???

All you people that found out about twins so early, what made them give you the early scan if you don't mind be asking?

just My friend found out she was carrying twins through an early scan as she had a previous miscarriage.

So OP knows there is something else in there, but someone else doesn't believe her....

just I found out at 9 weeks as I hadn't been having periods for a long time then got a BFP so had an early dating scan.
I think a lot of people end up having early scans with twins due to the pain of double implantation and extremely high levels of HCG being confused for ectopic/other problems.
