At what stage of pregnancy can the scan prove that you have more than a baby in the womb?

Well, if she's claiming there's something other than a baby, hopelessly, I wouldn't blame them...

Thank you for the replies. I have been very, very ill. Am 9 weeks and I just wondered how people ended up with an early scan.

Jedi1 · 17/08/2015 22:05

Just - I went for an early private reassurance scan, couldn't hold out until 12 weeksGrin

honeysucklejasmine · 17/08/2015 22:09

I paid for mine. Smile

your name change failed...

Justwhy · 17/08/2015 22:14

Off to google private scans...

Do you mean more than one baby Op ?

Genuinely cannot think of anything else that would be in there ?

Cab anything else be inside the womb ? I mean other than placenta ?

I suppose cysts and other growths but that would definitely show up at any ultrasound ? Confused

If you have any symptoms that could be a serious mimic of pregnancy e.g. an ectopic or any symptoms of a miscarriage your GP can organize an NHS emergency scan.

If it's more for reassurance you can look into a private scan.

I hope you are better from your illness now.

hopelesslydevotedtoGu · 17/08/2015 22:36

Are you wanting to check baby's wellbeing, or do you think something else is in there too?

RightHandRed · 17/08/2015 22:40

If there is an medical concern about your pregnancy - high HCG for example or pain and bleeding, then the NHS will offer you an early scan to check the pregnancy is progressing as it should.

If you are just anxious and want reassurance then you can pay for a scan at a private clinic. I had a private scan at 8 weeks with both of my pregnancies.

I've been poorly with one pg and everything was fine. Could barely stand up for 9 months though.

In another pg I felt very well, most unusual for me in pg and that one wasn't so successful. By all means, arrange a reassurance scan but if it's sickness, that's usually a good sign Smile

Sorry, I am not the OP. Just piggybacked her thread. Will stop now!

Doublebubblebubble · 17/08/2015 23:39

just I had my scan because I had a bleed (red spotting) at the epau. (the bleeding was caused by me being a fudging idiot and folding down my dd's bugging and lifting it onto the luggage bit of the bus... I also think that you just know... You know lol x

mayaknew · 19/08/2015 20:24

MaryEllen1 · 20/08/2015 13:18
