EPU scan results questions?

Bit of history.
Last period was 6th june. cycles between 35-44 days long.
Positive pregnancy test 6th july.
Bleeding between 9th july-16th july. First wipe was red everything after was brown and only when wiping.
Today epu scan results. Yolk sac found and gestational sac found. No heartbeat or embryo yet. Re scan in a week. At most they put me around the six week mark maybe earlier due to slightly longer cycles. What do people think? positive sign that i could be still pregnant?

The ladies where very positive and and say they think im just a bit to early to see much else yet

I had a scan around same time as you and there was no heartbeat, rescanned 2 weeks later and there it was! So fingers crossed for you.

They said they could find no cause for my spotting but i do have one 3cm cyst on my right ovary they want to keep an eye on. my left one is clear.

Was this scan internal or external?

external.

I had a scan at 6 weeks which was internal so could see a lot more. It may be due to an external scan it is harder to see, but I'm not completely sure, but I've heard of a lot of people being dated behind what they were on an external scan.

Perhaps you are around 5 weeks and not quite 6 weeks just yet?

some online calculators put me at 6 weeks and a couple days some about 5 weeks 5 days
maybe its because i had an external to.

Hi I have had an early scan this week and no yolk sac/Fetal pole but still dated at 5 weeks ( and some days) due to size of gestational sac - 11mm mine was. Maybe they used same way to date?

I think if you are 5 weeks and 5 days it's likely you won't see a fetal pole yet as when I was around that stage I did a bit of research online and found a few people didn't but when they went for a rescan they seen the fetal pole with the heartbeat.

My scan was at 6 weeks 1 day and I seen a fetal pole and a heartbeat but it turns out the measurements were wrong and I was about 6 weeks 6 days as a later scan confirmed, so had I had that scan a week earlier I probably wouldn't have seen anything.

Early scan at 5+4, no heart beats, two sacs (twins) one at 10mm and one at 9mm. Similar bleeding. They never identified a cause, but after a very long 2 week wait, saw 2 heartbeats at 7.4. Good luck

I had a scan at about 5 weeks with dd like u they saw yoke sack etc but no heart beat. Went back a week later and all was well. She's 4 now!

Thanks my sac is measuring 15mm with just a yolk sac inside. So scared.

Hi Emma. I'm 7 weeks tomo and having weekly scans at EPU (long story). My scan last week at 5 weeks 6 days showed a teeny tiny fetal pole (3mm) but no heartbeat yet. Yesterday heartbeat jumping away on screen. Also I'd say they only saw the fetal pole last week as it was an internal scan and on the external they tried they could see barely anything. Even yday the external scan before internal didn't show much at all. Internal scans are the standard in early pregnancy.

So I'd say there's definitely still hope, because you could be a bit earlier than you though and because an external scan won't show everything at this stage. Did they offer to try an internal? I know it's not the most pleasant thing but might be best for possible reassurance next week, if they offer then? Or even if you have to ask them?

They didnt offer an internal no but they could visibly see the sac and yolk sac which is very positive.
It sounds very positive and i am very positive but still scared obviously. also the lady who did the scan asked me to put my scan photo in my bag in the waiting room as some ladies their had a mc which signalled she thought i was all ok.
I reckon if they had done an internal they could of possibly seen a fetal pole.
I reckon i should ask next week. :)

Sickness has set in today . vomiting as well. wish i hadnt of wished for pregnancy symptoms to start now lol. gone right of my food. the only thing that sounds good is toast/baguettes etc.

Sounds very positive to me, if you have long cycles then it's very likely you're 5-6 weeks so wouldn't see much, I had internal scan at 5+2 and just saw sac, 7+2 saw heartbeat x

PS - don't panic if you still don't see a heartbeat next week, could still be too early, some people don't see it til 7+ weeks and you could still only be nearly 7 xx

As I got my bfp on July 6th that means if I'm six weeks today which the NHs says I am, I got my bfp on 3 weeks 2 days is that possible to get it so early.
Worried I'm actually further along and have a blighted ovum.

I got my positive test on exactly 3 wks 2 days - it is possible. Just hang on in there

Also was going to add - I tested so early because I 'knew' I was pregnant. I will never ever ever again test so early. Much better not to know until you're well overdue I reckon - cut at least a few weeks off the worrying time! I've been under review since 4 weeks with the hospital for long and boring reasons but my consultant told me that scanning before 7 weeks is totally not to be encouraged unless it's absolutely necessary as causes so much undue stress...so it's obviously really common - usual even - not to see what you'd like to see before that point.

Do you think I'm worrying over nothing and the yolk sac being their is a start?

Your right- if we ever ttc again I'm not testing early like this time. It really causes a lot of stress. I got scanned early because of bleeding x

If assume a 28 day cycle then I got a Bfp just a bit after you and a result on digital test at 3+6
