Do girls make you sicker than boys?

I had a great pregnancy with DS but was much more nauseous with DD. My friend wasn't sick with her DS and she's preg with #2 and doesn't feel sick. She really wants a girl and is thinking the fact she isn't sick means she's having another boy. Has anyone else had one of each but been equally as sick??

Nope not for me have dd and have another dd due in jan never had any sickness. Had m/c in feb had nausea and found out after that it was a boy!

have 2 dd's and 3rd dd due any day, never had any sickness. Do have heartburn from conception until birth, but both my dd's were born with shoulder length hair!!

I have one of each and am PG with DS2. I was definately sicker with DD and also craved sweet things more.

I wasn't sick at all with DD.

Apparently each pregnancy generates different levels of hormones and, if you've got high levels churning away - irrespective of the baby's sex - you're going to feel horrendous. I was sick and sobbed continually for 9 months with dd

MissD - Shoulder length hair Ive never seen that, do you have any pics. They must have been gorgeous.

The heartburn one was true for me too with DS and DD. The nice thing is DD has kept her lovely dark hair and she's 6 months now so hoping it's here to stay! DS had lost his hair he was born with by now.

I definitely feel a lot queasier with this girl than I did with DS.

missd · 22/11/2006 18:47

LieselVonTrapp probably somewhere, I'll have to look through my stuff. DD2's hair fell out on the top of her head and she looked like Max Wall for while -was v.funny

really sick with ds1 and ds2 but having a great pregnancy this time round and it's a girl so in my case, no not true at all

laneydaye · 22/11/2006 18:57

Lots of sickness with ds and dd so ?

PeachyClair · 22/11/2006 19:02

Hospitalised with ds1 and on a drip by 7 weeks

Guess what

I believe not (And my Mum had three of us girls without a single spew)

Hi - ds made me feel awful for 14 weeks, with dd1 I felt REALLY sick for 2 weeks then only mildly off. Dd2 however made me vomit 3 times a day and I swore I might kill myself! I think it's a blond thing as ds and dd2 were blonde (vomit, vomit) and dd1 was black haired - v mild!! That's my theory and I'm sticking to it! lol
