Last night I discovered this upon wiping at around 10:30pm
Since then when wiping I have a small amount of brown discharge. This morning it is still their. I have checked internally and the blood looks like very old blood.
I found out I was pregnant Monday confirmed all week by home preg tests .
My period was due at the earliest tomorrow which would of made this cycle 35 days and my last six cycles have been 44 42 38 41 37 35 so could be even later than that I'm not sure. So I don't see how this can be breakthrough bleeding as even though ive only tracked the last six cycles i dont think ive ever has a 33/34 day cycle. Scared of a chemical as I found out so early.
Had an argument with the bf about it as his not concerned at all.
What shall I do? I've taken the day off work, I took the day off yesterday to go to the doctors and now this.
I can't keep taking days off.

Do remember there is absolutely nothing you could have done to cause this. It's just one of those awful things in pregnancy that is out of your control.
Until you start to try to conceive or fall pregant you have no idea of the rollercoaster ride you're on.
Sadly sometimes things do go wrong and frustratingly there is nothing you can do to prevent it. But still the majority of the time pregnancies do work out.
Please be kind to yourself and know that you're in very good company with a lot of women who have similar experiences and we are all here checking in to see how you are.
Big hugs. X

Thanks everyone.
Just praying everything is ok seems unlikely though at the moment.
Any thoughts on breakthrough bleeding my cycles vary between 35-44 days and my period was due anytime saturday to mon 20th and this started thursday before period due so i think it is miscarriage

took a test earlier and the line took longer to get stronger than yesterday as well

I know it's easy to say but please for your own sake don't re-test, check mucus or anything like that. You're incredibly stressed and your brain will start convincing itself that something's different, something's wrong, the worst is happening. Be kind to yourself, try some mindfulness to keep calm. I was in tears all the time and got myself so worked up I reversed into a street light in my brand new car! Get yourself an enormous slab of chocolate and eat the whole thing. The outcome of this is already determined and you can get through it no matter which way it goes.

Emmalbae · 12/07/2015 15:01

Thanks.
The only way to console my self is that this proves one day I will have a living child no matter what, ( I was convinced I didn't ovulate ) no matter what.
Obviously I do.
I've just remembered about the rest of my Ben and jerries in the freezer ;)
Thanks again. Ill keep my fingers crossed though,

How did it turn out for you? Did the baby make it ?

I still have a 50 per cent chance as 50 per cent of women who bleed have live births.

LamppostInWinter · 12/07/2015 15:59

Absolutely, you've conceived once and even if God forbid things don't turn out well you can do it again.

My baby was absolutely fine :)

Emmalbae · 12/07/2015 15:59

I'm glad for you,
Thanks :)

I have been pregnant twice and both times around when my period was due had some light red/brown bleeding for 2-3 days, barely stained a pad, much lighter than a period. I think it is just normal for me.

First pregnancy ended in a 5 week miscarriage, second pregnancy I am now 27 weeks. Had more brown and pink bleeding around 8 weeks in this pregnancy so I think I just bleed around the time my period is due. I have PCOS and also thought I didn't ovulate, I think my hormonal imbalances may well be linked to the bleeding.

Also officially resting isn't meant to do anything but with this pregnancy I was so anxious I took a couple of weeks off with the 7-8 week bleeding and it settled. DD has Trisomy 18 and 95% of babies with this condition miscarry in the first 12 weeks so I wonder now if my resting helped her make it.

Emmalbae · 12/07/2015 16:47

Im glad you have your little girl now.
im sorry for your loss xx
can this be breakthrough bleeding if it started thursday night and my period was due saturday- mon 20th?

I had the same type of bleeding at around 4 weeks (had done an early test with a strong line). It lasted for about 5 days and I also had backache and quite strong period cramps.

I was sent for an early scan. It turned out that I was pregnant with twins. The pregnancy progressed normally. Good luck Flowers

Emmalbae · 12/07/2015 16:58

I do have twins in my family lol x glad it went well for you

Any more news today Emma? Hope it's all ok

Emmalbae · 13/07/2015 15:48

Seen midwife In person.
Scan at the EPu Thursday 23rd.
She didn't send any positivity my way either. Said implantation was a chance but when I mentioned this started four days after my bfp screwed her nose up and said 'oh dear'
As if I don't feel bad enough.
More blood today it's different though its mucus tinged with lots of tan light brown blood. Some on pad so it's increasing.
I can't cope . I'm constantly in tears. I had to take a break from work and went to the toilet to cry. Told my boss as i need more time off and he was very comforting about the most comfort I've had and from all of you and my boyfriend.

Oh you poor thing SadThanksBrew

I bled throughout my pregnancy , from 5 weeks right through until ds was born. It's sooo stressful, I still remember the feeling of panic. x

tbtc · 13/07/2015 16:06

For every story of a woman having bleeding (red, brown, spotting, heavier) and it ending with a successful pregnancy, there is a story of a woman having bleeding and it ended up in miscarriage.

The health care professionals would be wrong to either get your hopes up or gently explain that it's likely to be bad news, as it's simply too early to tell.

Early pregnancy is such an anxious time. I bled (mainly brown but some red) with DS1. I didn't bleed at all with DS2 and then got myself worked up about missed miscarriage.

I think it can be hard when we're so used to being in control of our bodies - taking charge of contraception and our own fertility.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 13/07/2015 16:08

My experiences of health professionals were very black and white and matter of fact, no sympathy at all. They dish out the medical advice, sympathy comes from family and friends ime.

Emmalbae · 13/07/2015 16:17

Thanks guys.
Next Thursday seems a lifetime away. Fingers crossed I'm in the 50% that deliver healthy babies.
The more it goes on for I feel my chances of it not being miscarriage are decreasing am I right to think this?
I agree they can't say either way but they never say 'try to relax' or anything helpful to calm anyone down either.
I'm glad your children turned out ok.
I've been told to book my birth online 'just incase' she said. Not a supportive way to say it. She may be right but a bit of consideration wouldn't go a miss sometimes. 3 I've seen now and they've all been the same.
Thank goodness for my boyfriend. All I want is a hug. I feel bad for him his been so great trying to cheer me up and being strong but I know his worried as well.
Thanks everyone for your words :)

Book your birth?Confused

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 13/07/2015 16:29

I've just googled. I'm way behind the times, there was no such thing when I had dsGrin

tbtc · 13/07/2015 16:32

But if they say "try to relax" at a time when you feel completely unable to, then many women feel that them not relaxing might contribute towards miscarriage. It's best if they just get on with the medical side of things, tell you the facts and let your family, friends and MN support you.

What does 'book your birth online' mean?

dinodiva · 13/07/2015 16:35

It's such a horrible thing to go through.
I started having some spotting the day after I got my BFP (exactly 28 days after my previous period) and it lasted 6-7 days, getting lighter and browner over the course of the week. I had a bit again at 8 weeks for about 3-4 days and then a tiny spot at 11 weeks. I'm now 30 weeks.
I've had friends who didn't know they were pregnant as they were having bleeding at the same time they would normally have a period. I think it's fairly common that you can have spotting when you may have been having a period previously.
As other posters have said, it's impossible at this stage to know what is going to happen. It is important though to look after yourself and just take it one day at a time. Flowers

Emmalbae · 13/07/2015 16:47

Because its self refer to the hospital I want to hopefully have baby at I can do it online my self :)

Thanks. The bleeding has got heavier today. It's slightly on my pad today and like this when I wipe. It started out a lot darker brown.I was due on my period Saturday any day through to mon 20th as I have irregular cycles and this started Thursday any chance it can be a period. I got my bfp Monday 6th so maybe I had an even shorter cycle this time?
Dino- so glad your still pregnant.
Tbtc- I didn't think of it like that. Maybe your right. :)

Also I vomited this morning. First time this pregnancy and my tests are still getting stronger every day if my hcg was decreasing would this happen .

Test today and test I took last Monday to show the difference

Hope everything clears up soon emma.. ny bleeding was alot worse than that and little bean is still healthy!
Im not saying this to worry you but pregnancy tests can still show a positive result even if you have had a mc, it cab take 3 weeks for the hormones to come out of you system the midwife told me. . Thats why i was retested by then 4 weeks after my inital bleed..
is it just blood like that or have you ever passed clots of tissue/blood?
Take care xx
