Arrived at 11 am yesterday. Pessary in by noon. They won't even look at my under carriage until 24hrs after pessary going in, but have to stay overnight on 4 hour obs. Best case scenario they can break my waters in the morning, otherwise a 6 HR wait then another pessary then another 6hr wait to see if that works which takes me to 11 PM.
Poor girl in the next bay has been chucking up all night. I really feel for her she is so young and frightened (obvs no sleep for me tho).
I have watched waaaaay too much telly. What happened to splat waters break ... three pushes.... baby's here! It is not slow mo in the movies!

I completely get that shit happens on a labour unit and that women in labour and emergencies must take priority. What is not on is the complete lack of communication. That they can control. They shall now have to face the wrath of belleende.

Bring on the wrath! You might find it gets things moving. Can't get much worse anyway and will be cathartic at the very least.

LadyStark · 26/06/2015 17:42

You poor thing OP, sounds very similar to my induction with DD. I started on the Wednesday and had her on the Sunday (via EMCS).

I discharged myself on the Friday night as I needed sleep and knew that baby wasn't making an appears anytime soon. If you can go home and rest then I would recommend it, made all the difference to my mental state.

Good luck!

SweepTheHalls · 26/06/2015 17:42

Woo hoo! Let wrath commence!

Belleende · 26/06/2015 20:32

Progress! In the birthing suite and have bagged the really nice one with birth pool and lots to keep labour active. Still going to be a wait until they break my waters but I have been told once in here there is no kicking me out. I didn't even have to bring on the wrath. Really glad as I think I need all my strength for the next 24 hours.

yay so pleased for you belle! Grin

longestlurkerever · 26/06/2015 21:37

hurrah! Get some rest but hope it's not too long until it all kicks off.

Earthbound · 26/06/2015 21:41

Hurrah! Hope this move swiftly for you from now on. Good luck!

bakingtins · 26/06/2015 22:10

Good luck belle hope this is action stations for you now!

TheWoollybacksWife · 26/06/2015 22:18

Good luck Belle - hope you are either resting up ready for it all kicking off or in full blown labour now.

My induction with DD2 was anything but boring. After having the pessary they sent DH home as nothing was happening, hooked me up to a monitor and drew the curtains for privacy. All going to plan until the fire alarm went off and the maternity unit was evacuated - apart from me, still hooked up to the monitor in privacy. I was escorted out of the building in labour by uniformed firemen.

Hobbes8 · 26/06/2015 22:36

Handcuff yourself to something!

Good luck and take drugs. That's my one bit of advice from an induction almost 4 years ago.
X

chachaboom · 26/06/2015 22:59

Dh wasted a week of paternity leave waiting on my induction, same situation as you with regard to pessaries and no room on the labour ward. The lack of sleep and the single ward telly on ITV all day was the worst Confused .
Now you're in the suite you'll hopefully be wheeled out all happy with a baby tomorrow fingers crossed. x

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 27/06/2015 01:31

Did I miss why they won't break your waters? What's that all about then?

Belleende · 27/06/2015 03:07

Can I tell u a secret ladies. Waters still haven't been broken. We are effectively now just in a more expensive waiting room (which we are now preventing other women and from accessing) . They don't have the capacity in the unit to do anything with me. I think come morning I shall go home and come back when in established labour. Tee hee hee.

My waters broke in the toilet while I was trying to poo... just sayin'. Wink

Belleende · 27/06/2015 03:53

Oh goodness you are STILL waiting?! I have been following this thread for days!! You must have the patience of a saint!! Good luck OP I really hope you get going soon.

icklekid · 27/06/2015 05:23

Also been following glad you now have a lovely room. Sounds like their system for rooms also needs a look into as well as basic communication. Really feel for you. Hoping today they can get things started for you!

Belleende · 27/06/2015 05:38

It's all ok. I have decided just to not give birth. I like being pregnant. Right now my baby is silent, 100% portable, eats what I eat, sleeps when I sleep, and excretes with no fuss. Also, people smile at me in the street and make me feel special. Why should I replace bump with a baby that will keep me awake, require feeding through my scabby nipples, require nappies to be changed up to ten times a day and seems to require a vast array of specialist equipment to get from a to b. Also, once bump becomes baby, instead of smiling sweetly at me and making me feel special, strangers will actively avoid me and squawking child. So I am keeping bump. The waddle is a small price to pay

belle you're a frickin legend.... ive just read a couple of your posts inc the last one out to dh and we are both giggling and hoping i have such a good attitude when I get down to it!

JugglingLife · 27/06/2015 06:47

Bloody bloody hells bells, I can not believe you are still there. And your last post was quite right. Babies are super selfish once they come out, far more sensible to remain upduffed and dignified.

Ilovenannyplum · 27/06/2015 06:49

OP despite the fact that your probably v fed up now, your posts are v funny.
Good luck! 27 June seems a good day to be born Wink

HelenF350 · 27/06/2015 08:16

Oh Belle, I can't believe you are still waiting! I really hope they break your waters soon. How frustrating!

bakingtins · 27/06/2015 11:46

Quite right. forever after you will only be "mini belle's Mummy". enjoy it while you can. Wink

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 27/06/2015 14:19

How's it going Belle? Still pg? Or has this baby decided to vacate the premises yet? (NB DS1 went to 40+16 before he was induced out)
