Just wandering how many of you actually enjoyed being pregnant & blooming! I just felt like a beached whale & even though I didnt have any sickness or anything I didnt really enjoy it at all and its putting me off having another baby. Nine whole months of being boring! is it just me or do others feel the same?

I loved it absolutely. I was never happier and I am so envious of other pregnant women now. I know that so many other women don't enjoy it and feel poorly. I was sick but I was just so excited that I was oblivious!

hotandbothered · 09/11/2006 20:53

I hated the sickness /permanently knackered/beached whale bit but loved feeling special and that I was doing something very clever! It brought me and dh closer too which can only be good!

I didn't

ohnelly · 09/11/2006 20:55

I really loved it. Just felt great being JUSTIFIABLY fat, and got to buy new clothes, and everyone said I looked great/ glowing/ lovely all the time. Had more energy than I do usually. Would happily be a surrogate mum if I didn't have to give birth!

lulumama · 09/11/2006 20:55

absolutely loved it...despite the sickness and the aches & pains and all the other little niggles......loved how my body looked...loved how i felt......so womanly and abundant!!! yep...adored it.....every pukey minute!! felt so clever & special...like, look at me i'm growing another person!

AitchTwoOh · 09/11/2006 20:56

loved every minute of it, but then i was lucky and apart from being very closely monitored for high BP wasn't particularly unwell after the first trimester. i hope to be able to get pregnant again in the future so fingers crossed it'll be the same next time... i am so jealous of other ladies with bumps to rub.

I had a sometimes difficult pg with bleeding in the early weeks and cervical thinning later on, but was fortunate not to have any sickness, and the tiredness I had wasn't debilitating, so in general I enjoyed being pg. ds was born in May so I didn't have to suffer through summer heat heavily pg. I loved my bump and the changes in my body.

mamijacacalys · 09/11/2006 20:58

Did not have any sickness or other probs with either of mine (DS 4 and DD 4 months) and had similar pregnancies - worked full time throughout, felt generally fine and scoffed for Wales!!

Worst part was right at the end when felt like Jabba the Hutt, partic with DD as she was born in the July heatwave this year (phew!) but wasn't too bothered as had perfect excuse to put feet up and watch World Cup/Wimbledon/etc!

Both times, a few months after they were born, I looked at my non-pregnant self in the mirror and felt a fleeting sadness that I was no longer pregnant (emphasise 'fleeting'). My mum agreed that she too felt this each time (she had 3) and reckoned it was perfectly natural (to do with primitive feelings re womanhood and fecundity???).

Would I do it again? Possibly? But two are definitely enough at the moment!!

foundintranslation · 09/11/2006 20:59

(I say enjoyed... I did spend a long period of my pg worried sick (had had a mc 3 months before), and was impatient for ds to come)

DontlookatmeImscary · 09/11/2006 21:01

I loved being pregnant.I was lucky that I wasn't unwell though. And once I began to feel the baby move. Best feeling ever.

Pidge · 09/11/2006 21:03

Absolutely hated the first few months - was sick round the clock both times, and utterly miserable.

But quite enjoyed it from 5 months on - cycling at 8 months pregnant last time, swimming 50 lengths a day at 9 months and walking loads. Felt really fit and active and particularly second time I enjoyed that 'in limbo' period before the baby arrives ... the calm before the storm!

It's luck of the draw though isn't it, how your body reacts during the whole thing.

ohnelly · 09/11/2006 21:04

You know how you feel when youve just eaten a massive snday lunch and cant move? Felt like that permanently! I think I had quite a lot of water because they broke before I had any contractions and my bump looked instantly smaller and I could breathe again!

me

lucy5 · 09/11/2006 21:05

I did with my first. I have hated nearly everyday with this one. Thank god it's my second as I deffo wouldn't have had another one.

Posey · 09/11/2006 21:05

Loved it first time. Bloomed!
2nd time just found it uncomfortable and irritating.

hulababy · 09/11/2006 21:06

After the initial sicness, I did enjoy being pregnant.

juuule · 09/11/2006 21:23

Me Well once I got past the 12-14week stage and the fear of m/c was unlikely.

Coolmama · 09/11/2006 21:25

me too

HelloMamaMoonCup · 09/11/2006 21:28

I loved being pregnant too. Was very lucky to only have fleeting nausea at the beginning, and generally felt fab and womanly, with bigger boobs than I have EVER had in my life Also had a great birth experience, although it did get a bit tiresome at the end of the pregnancy when even my maternity clothes didn't fit anymore! That was not a good feeling at all. I was literally the size of a house.

castlesintheair · 09/11/2006 21:30

Loved the first two. This one is getting boring, esp with being ill on & off.

3andnomore · 09/11/2006 21:31

Loved my first 2 pg's...not so keen on my 3, pg, even though it was as planned as the others,,,but having a lil Toddler to run after did make things more difficult, especially as ms is a VERY active child, lol!
