I've had it bad since 5 weeks, now 9+3. Please tell me there is light at the end of the tunnel! No need to post if you had it for the whole pregnancy!

ooh, you poor thing, i didn't really get actual sickness, but I used to feel very sick especially when i saw or smelt meat, ( I am no a veggie) I couldnt go to supermarkets etc, very strange.
I think it tends to go on most people around the first 10-12 weeks

evenhope · 09/11/2006 18:36

Still got it, 21+4

cinnamongreyhound · 09/11/2006 18:40

13 weeks exactly! I was really not sure at first but after a few days without it I started to believe it was gone. Have been fine ever since am 18 weeks tomorrow.

time4tea · 09/11/2006 19:39

20 weeks pretty much feeling sick all day. if its any consolation, the euphoria when it is over keeps you chipper for weeks. I found the sea-sickness bands on wrists helpful, plus keeping to a bland but reasonably nutritious diet of plain yogurt, fruit compote and muesli/other breakfast cereals was ok. other people swear by ginger etc. but it didn't help me much.

good luck

lulumama · 09/11/2006 19:40

have you tried:

anti sickness wrist bands ( accupressure)

ginger ale. ginger biscuits

dry crackers or toast

eating little & often

and eating before you get out of bd..get DH to bring you some tea & dry toast...even if you throw up..it is easier to throw up food than bile in my experiences...!

earthtomummy · 09/11/2006 19:50

Acupucture is supposed to be quite good. Just make sure you go to a well-qualified one who has experience of pg. women.

twinkle5 · 09/11/2006 20:05

I have tried most things! It's worse in afternoon and evening, so am at least enjoying my jam on toast for brekkie. I can only eat bland food- I had a kids lasagne from m&s for lunch- I swear it didn't taste of anything! Ginger biscuits give me heartburn. might try the travel bands.....

I need more people to say "it stopped at 11wks and I felt great from then on"

Kidstrack · 09/11/2006 20:07

mine stopped at 16weeks then started again at 30weeks

pesha · 09/11/2006 20:35

Im still being sick and im 17 wks tomorrow but it is so much better than it was and is now bearable and not really that much of a problem. I started being sick at 6-7 weeks and it did get really bad from about 10 - 14wks but has been getting better since then. I saw my dr though as it was unbearable and he gave me medication for it which really worked for a couple of weeks till my sickness peaked but might be worth seeing your doctor if its really making you miserable. There afew different drugs they can try and my dr said they're much happier about giving medication to pg women than they were a few years ago. Dont think i would have coped without it!

Donbean · 09/11/2006 20:40

URGH sympathies, i was 17 weeks when it stopped.
Awful awful awful.

estobi1 · 09/11/2006 20:50

About 13 weeks and then it completely disappeared and I felt wonderful until the last 2 weeks (just because I was heavy). Hopefully you will feel better and get the glow soon. xx

maggiesmama · 09/11/2006 20:53

i puked the whole way through. sorry! but think is pretty unusual

i was sick every day for 9 month and in hospital for 9 month as well ahhhhh

Pidge · 09/11/2006 21:07

kellieowen - how awful.

For me, the sickness subsided at 13 weeks first time round, not till 19 weeks second time (was in a huge trough of despond thinking it would never go).

twinkle5 - you have my sympathy, I am normally bright and breezy and optimistic but those ghastly first few months both times sunk me into despair.

marymillington · 09/11/2006 21:08

threw up every day for seven months with number 1
stopped throwing up every day at four months with this 'un
the only thing that kept my nausea at bay was pear-drops.

kellieowen · 09/11/2006 21:10

it was awful its put me off for life i carried on being sick till april this year the docs said they cant find out whats wrong

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 09/11/2006 21:43

22 weeks.I was hospitilsed twice and put on drip.I went on to have a very healthy little girl so it has no bearing on pregnancy.

Hope it doesnt last.I know how awful it is

twinkle5 · 09/11/2006 21:48

oh dear, this isn't very reassuring

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 09/11/2006 22:10

my condition was called hyperemesis.its not traditional 'morning sickness' that stops around 12 weeks.

I hope yours stops at 12 {or sooner} but IF it doesnt, you will get through it and it will all be worth it in the end

good luck!

Mine finished at the 4 month mark. At first I couldn't believe that I was feeling fine, kept expecting to be sick, so probably about a week went by before I started to believe it!

One of my best friends was sick until the 8th month. In the end she got acupuncture, and it stopped. She had tried all other non chemical treatments and nothing else worked. So if it doesn't pass around the 3 - 4 month mark (which is when the chemicals which they think cause the morning sickness stop being produced in your body in those quantities) then I would recommend giving that a go!

hulababy · 10/11/2006 08:32

I stopped being sick around 16 weeks, and the nauseous had passed by 17/18 weeks.

DebbsyandBibby · 10/11/2006 09:05

mine finished when i got to 20 weeks brought preggie pops they were fab i was known as kojak at work as it was morn, noon and nite and i always had 1 in my mouth motherbliss.com sell them. Good luck.

puppydavies · 10/11/2006 09:48

i just turned 11 weeks and mine has definitely been better over the last couple of days. could be because i'm coming down with a cold though, perhaps my body thinks it would be too unfair to inflict both on me at once
