Anyone else? Constant nausea with some days all day sickness, no energy , don't fancy eating anything, don't even want to go out as so tired. 2nd pregnancy I remember it being bad first time around but not this bad. Just want to feel better Sad

Hey Griffomais

Sorry you're feeling low. I'm 7wks & feeling similar to you & have thought all week about how I might not be able to do this, how I long to feel 'normal' again & my plans for daily walks lasted 1 day as I prefer to snooze on the sofa.

Try not to be too hard on yourself. It's a tough time & your body is working extra hard to create an extra life. Treat yourself by doing whatever the hell makes you happy & never feel like you have to apologise for it.

We'll both get past this bit soon Flowers

OTheHugeManatee · 16/05/2015 12:16

Sympathy - I'm 6wks and not sicky exactly but zero energy or appetite. And hating, just hating, having to go to work when normally I love my job Confused

Really missing going running but equally just can't face it.

Sofa and quiet time is the only solution Smile

Griffomais · 16/05/2015 12:18

Thanks Too that has made me feel a bit better just knowing someone else feels similar. I find early pregnancy a lonely time. My DH works away and is 5 days into a 3 week trip so I'm finding it hard trying to use my 18 month old DD when feeling so low. As you say it'll pass soon enough. I really hope you are ok - it's tough growing a life isn't it Smile

Hi OThe is this your first? I hope you feel better soon - I hate having no appetite or energy it's just horrible isn't it.

OTheHugeManatee · 16/05/2015 13:28

Griffo yes this is my first so it's all new! To me right now it feels a lot like having all the components of a hangover except the headache - no energy, short temper, delicate stomach, brain fade, foul taste in the mouth and waking up early. Yuck.

Completely agree, lonely is the word, which is strange as actually we're busy growing a whole new human so it should feel like more company, not less! But apart from the midwife, DH and (long story) our accountants, no-one knows. I keep wanting to 'come out' but just don't know if it's too soon to tell people.

toohardtothinkofaname · 16/05/2015 18:47

Griffomais, it's bloody knackering! Just had to send partner off to cinema on his own as I can't face being out of the house but we'd already bought the tickets.

Ya know what else sucks? Feeling sick because you're so hungry but then not being able to face anything/manage more than a few mouthfuls!

It's great having somewhere to offload without someone just trying to silver line everything Smile

jugglingmonkey · 16/05/2015 19:23

I hear you. All I can face eating is stodgy crap or sweet stuff and I feel horrendous for it. 7.5weeks here so I'm hoping this is the worst of it and it might slowly get better.

Also my second, first was definitely not this bad either.

I've no energy, no motivation, and a trying toddler to entertain. Bleurrgghhh.

Have you found anything to ease the nausea?

I find ginger and lemon tea helps a bit, as does lots of water (and toast)!

bittapitta · 16/05/2015 19:28

Thank you for this thread, I'm in exactly the same boat - preg with number 2, 7 weeks, nausea, tiredness, feeling low because I can't bring myself to do anything (exercise, outings). I want to get the date for my booking in appointment fixed so I can tell the midwife how low I feel but no one to turn to yet.

chopsface · 16/05/2015 19:30

Hi griff I feel your pain! I'm 9 weeks tomorrow and the nausea started at about 5+5 for me. I've only been actually sick once but the nausea is morning until night. It feels like I need to eat all the time but I don't know what I fancy and I get different cravings and aversions week to week. All I could eat in week 6 was crackers and crisps, this week the thought of crisps makes me feel ill-er!

We have just been up to my parents to tell them our news and my mum asked how I'd been feeling. Dh answered "she's been alright actually"!!! WHAT?! I said actually I have been feeling bloody awful and I tell you I feel bloody awful every day but you don't u understand! I've described it many times as an all day hangover mixed in with flu and its awful but because I don't have my head down the toilet its like he doesn't think there is anything wrong :-( Anyone else have this problem with their significant other?

mrsfazruns · 16/05/2015 19:44

Oh I'm so glad I'm not the only one!! Had plans to clean the house top to toe and do the shopping and have dinner with a friend today ..... Instead IVE laid on the sofa watching crap TV wondering when I will feel normal again!!! X

BabyBNumberThree · 16/05/2015 20:04

I'm 9 weeks tomorrow with dc no.3 and I've been sick daily for the past 3 weeks. nausea last all day so I sympathise. but I know it will pass eventually xx

jugglingmonkey · 17/05/2015 16:08

Hope you're feeling a bit better, Griffo?

I'm sipping a strawberry milkshake, keeping nausea at bay. Next doors BBQ is wafting over and making me feel awful!

Karelia81 · 17/05/2015 19:08

Chopsface, my oh suggested my nausea was some sort of placebo effect from reading MN...err, OK. Then I was actually sick, just on one occasion, and suddenly he was very understanding ('well I can smell it but it must be worse for you'.., yes actually it's got stuck in my nose and I had to sniff it back or blow it out, neither is nice! haha).

Griffomais · 17/05/2015 19:20

Hey everyone - totally laughing about how our DH/DPs think we are over/reacting. In a rage last week I snapped at my DH that I wished he were pregnant then he'd know all about it lol. I just feel awful today I'm managing to stop vomiting but I cannot shake the 24/7 nausea it's just horrible / trying to eat little and often but it's a challenge. How is everyone else doing today?

bittapitta · 17/05/2015 19:52

I'm feeling miserable. Constant nausea and tiredness. My DH is being amazing and doing the lion's share of looking after the toddler this weekend but I have so many things on my To Do list that are not getting done Sad no energy or motivation

chopsface · 17/05/2015 20:03

Feeling pretty grotty since I woke up griff! 8pm and I've suddenly perked up. Dh is actually being lovely today and did dinner microwaved jacket spuds and did a cute thing where he put his hand on my tummy and said "stop making mummy feel sick" omg! Heart melted! All is forgiven!

cloudjumper · 17/05/2015 20:05

I'm the same. 8 weeks tomorrow, and for the last 2 weeks, I've been feeling horrendous - constant nausea and sooo tired, no energy at all. Had to stop all exercise, currently just trying to get through one day at a time. It's my second as well.
Just wishing the next 4 weeks away...

jugglingmonkey · 18/05/2015 10:48

4 more weeks to go... Not too long in the grand scheme of things, and then we get a lovely scan too!

Had an early scan at the weekend and feel comfortable telling work now so at least my boss will understand why I'm a bit off at the moment!

cloudjumper · 18/05/2015 12:48

Well, I feel so awful today I didn't even make it into work. Got up, got showered and dressed and then realised that there is no way I could sit in traffic for an hour and get through a day in the office. I feel as if I've been run over by a truck.

juggling I also had a reassurance scan yesterday - all looking good so far, and I think the relief about that is part of why I am feeling so rubbish today, I have been much more anxious than I admitted to myself, and now I have crashed.
Hoping it'll all be better tomorrow...

Griffomais · 18/05/2015 14:08

Sorry to hear everyone is still feeling bad - great news on reassurance scans. I made it into work at 8am and had to leave again at 9.45am felt absolutely awful. Combination of not sleeping last night, not eating anything since yesterday lunch time and generally feeling like I've got the worst hangover. Thank goodness my parents were here they have looked after DD all day and have just taken her for a walk as she wouldn't go for her usual nap. Just managed a slice of toast and sipping Lucozade. Take care everyone.

It's totally the sh*ttest part of pregnancy - I'm 9+3 with DC3, but at least this time I'm not living with the in-laws during building work! That was DC2, and I was sick about twice a day there! Much nicer being in my own house this time round!

My coping strategy this time is going back to bed for 1.5 hours after packing kids off to nursery, then going in about 2 hours late, but I imagine a lot of employers will frown on that - I figure 5 hours of work is better than me calling in sick for the whole day, or going on time, and getting nothing done...

bittapitta · 18/05/2015 15:00

Is anyone else worried about the weight they are putting on trying to cope? I was borderline healthy/overweight and now the combination of no exercise and constant snacking will surely mean I'm overweight (by BMI) for the Booking In Appointment and I really don't want that. It's getting me down.

Griffomais · 18/05/2015 15:25

I've lost 11lbs so far mainly down to not being able to eat just want to get into 2nd trimester and feeling well again.

Hey Griffomais & everyone.

I might be speaking too soon but think I've sussed my ms. My seven seas vitamins have iron in so I've stopped taking it & take folic, B6 & vit D separately. This morning I woke up after 12hr sleep & felt best I've felt all week (I was sick after caught a whiff of last night's tea but at least it wasn't constant). Hoping tomorrow morning is even better.

Have you guys tried cutting out the iron until you need it in last 2 trimesters?

jugglingmonkey · 18/05/2015 20:59

I've heard of this... Do we not need the iron yet then??
