Anyone else? Constant nausea with some days all day sickness, no energy , don't fancy eating anything, don't even want to go out as so tired. 2nd pregnancy I remember it being bad first time around but not this bad. Just want to feel better Sad

I didn't take iron early pregnancy last time, not this time either... still feel like shite. Very glad it has worked for you though toohard

juggling you only need to take it if your iron levels are low on blood tests.

So good to hear I'm not alone! I feel so horrible. This is my second pregnancy and one of the reasons I left it so long between babies (nearly 5 years) was because I knew I would have this again. I know it will be worth it in the end but that doesn't help much at the moment. I am a primary school teacher and feeling terrible at school trying to cope with a class and managing my team. Exactly the same, so hungry the whole time then everything makes me feel sick. Surviving on plain pasta, crisps and crackers. Really don't want to be off work as we have SATS in two weeks. At least work takes my mind off it! Have had to tell my direct colleagues so they understand why I look so ill and am useless! Wish I could fastforward the next 12 weeks (didn't stop until 16 weeks past time and I had 6 weeks off school).

toohardtothinkofaname · 19/05/2015 07:53

Juggling, not so much in the first tri unless levels are low. Since stopping I'm still sick in the morning, straight after I wake up, but no longer feel constant nausea fingers crossed it stays this way!

chopsface · 19/05/2015 10:17

toohard are you having a snack just before bed? It maintains the sugar level over night and stops you feeling so sick first thing. Didn't feel like a snack last night but I regretted that this morning! Must force myself!

djini · 19/05/2015 10:25

Sympathy all round - I'm in the same boat. 8 weeks tomorrow, constant seasickness-like queasiness and exhaustion, plus wrangling an energetic 3yo. Way worse than last time round (or maybe I've conveniently forgotten how miserable the first tri was). Oh, and still having to show up to client meetings and look and sound professional, when all I want to do is lie on the sofa under a duvet watching Netflix and eating Smiths Square crisps. That's an essential foodgroup, right?

cloudjumper · 19/05/2015 13:05

Totally essential, dinji Grin I want crisps now. Or anything salty...

I find what helps me (apart from making sure I eat pretty much every 2 hours) is sipping really cold water (preferably fizzy) and sucking ice cubes.
I also now have water biscuits and a bottle of water next to my bed, which I nibble/sip first thing when I wake up.

Being tired definitely makes it worse - I went to bed much earlier that usual yesterday, and felt so much better this morning. However, then had to sit through a 1.5 hour-long client call, after which I felt really sick again.
I think it's just a matter of time until my colleague next to me clocks what is going on - I am eating all the time! The other day I gobbled down 2 hard boiled eggs at my desk Blush

toohardtothinkofaname · 19/05/2015 14:47

chopsface yeah I had dinner & went straight to bed but that means 12hrs before I wake up so I'll be hungry! Ha.

jugglingmonkey · 20/05/2015 08:56

How is everyone feeling??

Nausea getting worse here, mostly mornings and evenings. Managing to eat though which is a blessing.

Felt so rough this morning that I couldn't be bothered to shower before work...

Hope you're all coping okay this morning (at least the sun is out down here)!

Griffomais · 23/05/2015 15:54

How is everyone feeling - I've been so ill had a day off work last week it all just got too much. I'm now on anti sickness medication started it yesterday and today I feel almost human again I'm beginning to eat little bits & pieces and my exhaustion is lifting. My GP was really great. Please let me know how you're all doing.

Well, after feeling absolutely rotten all week, I felt no sickness at all yesterday and today - and it's totally freaking me out Confused I feel so anxious, have a big knot in my stomach - who would have thought I'd ever wish for nausea?! But I had no sickness with my first 3 miscarriages, and now I automatically associate no sickness = baby has died Sad
I know that there is no link, that every pregnancy is different etc., but I can't help the anxiety.

jugglingmonkey · 23/05/2015 17:02

Don't panic cloud, focus on other symptoms... How are your boobs?!

I had a day off the nausea yesterday but it has returned, yours might just be giving you a break. How far along are you?

bittapitta · 23/05/2015 18:32

Oh cloud it's hard isn't it - I hate feeling sick all the time and when I miraculously don't I worry like hell - my miscarriage was a mmc. Can you get an early reassurance scan? I was thinking of getting one around 9 weeks as my actual scan is at 12+5 and I don't think I can wait that long!

Generally feeling positive but occasionally getting low about how little I'm getting done as I'm doing the bare minimum while I feel ill.

Daffodil3228 · 23/05/2015 18:49

Hello it has been encouraging to read your posts. I'm totally new to this, 1st pregnancy and have been pretty much housebound for 2 weeks. Doc has signed me off for another week and given me some meds but still constant nausea and throwing up. Haven't told everyone yet (my new boss is a bloke and seems not to have twigged yet!) and feel really lonely and rotten. I'm about 9 weeks and the upbeat messages of 'it should go away by about week 16...for most women' on the advice websites is not making me feel better!! I just want to feel well and do stuff again :-( anyway it was good to hear that people here have started to feel better, onwards and upwards!!

NoArmaniNoPunani · 23/05/2015 18:58

I'm 9 weeks with my first pregnancy and feeling terrible - constant nausea and all the foods I usually like taste weird.

BlackeyedPetitsPois · 23/05/2015 19:30

Hi OP. Congratulations and I'm sorry you're suffering (and all you other ladies).

I'm 12 weeks (2nd time round) and feeling wretched still, I'm hoping it'll start to calm down soon. Been off work quite a bit as all I seem to do is so spend my time in the ladies with my head down the loo!

Painful boobs, nausea, vomiting 3-4 times a day, no appetite, plus have a UTI and viral cold and a throat full of razor blades. I just want to give up! But can't.

Hey ho. Onwards.

Hope you all start to feel better very soon Flowers x
