Thinking of you both Ginger and Metal

Yay to those with good news.

Am do chuffed for you Longest enjoy your snuggles with Beth

I've struggled today. So exhausted I could cry. Had to bail out of a VIP bar launch tonight and that is so not like me.

Also, is preggo rage a thing? I was vile to DP tonight I was tired, exhausted, grumpy and wanted to watch Scandal on catch up ( after bailing out of bar launch) and DP didn't want to watch and started messing about with the Virgin box why do that? Grrrr

Anyway I was vile.

And now I feel awful and I feel guilty for feeling shit and exhausted

I feel like I've been through so much, am tired, emotional and have to go through the indignities of shoving something up my bum. All I wanted to do was watch Scandal!!!!!!

What the actual fuck is wrong with me?

broodylicious · 05/06/2015 22:00

Exactly metal, that's what I was trying to say the other day to you about the consultant who'd had someone in their office with a 1:1 chance of ds and the baby was born without it! A risk is a risk, not a certainty.

ginger, it is such a difficult time for you right now. I can completely understand your fears - you go through months of wanting a baby, then you get pregnant, miscarry, pregnant again and then have worries about baby's health. The way we look at our lo and our high risk of ds is exactly how you've described it...that baby will be truly loved and there's nothing we won't do for him or her. It's a powerful thing is love. Can get you through anything.

Brummie - you know what's wrong with you (or what's right) - you're pregnant! Perfectly normal and acceptable to have the rage, I think.

I would rather have that right now, than what I have, which is the pregnancy meloncholy. I am so sick of worrying about this pregnancy (and I am only 8+4). I feel completely doomed, then I feel awful for dooming my baby before it has had a chance, then I feel I absolutely must remain positive for this to work out, then I realise it is all futile because I can't do a damn thing about it. Somebody shoot me now!

Today I have absolutely no breast tenderness whatsoever, not even a tiny bit (though this did happen yesterday and by the time I went to bed and took off my bra, they were tender again, but still less than usual), and I don't feel very sick. One minute I am sure I've had a mmc, the next I am sure it will be alright.

I am so tired of over thinking everything and not sleeping. And so tired of myself, really.

Does anyone have suggestions of how to get through the first trimester without ending up in a straight jacket?

So sorry for this selfish post. I know many of you are having a difficult time, so please just ignore me.

Ginger, it sounds to me like you will be a wonderful mother to your little boy Flowers

cavamonster · 06/06/2015 05:28

Yay congratulations longest and beautiful name!!

gum the first trimester is horrible, and I was in a very similar mind set as you. There is obviously no definite way, but things I did was surround myself with other things to keep me busy in the day, stayed away from Google, I also had regular accupuncture and used a great app Headspace - which helped clear my mind at night. Just try to focus on one day at a time. Don't expect to much from yourself,

gingerbreadmam · 06/06/2015 06:57

thanks everyone youre really helping kp my spirits up and are a safe haven for me to talk about the unthinkable which is what i need at the moment.

ImnotawitchImyourwife · 06/06/2015 07:19

Hugs for you Gum Flowers

The first trimester is such a horrible waiting game and it's so hard to stop yourself from constant symptom spotting. I second what cava said, try to stay away from Google (easier said than done I know) and take things one day at a time. And don't ever worry about moaning here, that's what this thread is for. If moaning helps you stay that little bit more sane then moan away!

If it helps I've had fewer classic pregnancy symptoms this time than in any of my previous pregnancies. My morning sickness lasted all of three days and I've had hardly any breast tenderness to speak of. I'm currently twice as far along as I've got with any of my previous seven. Symptoms don't necessarily mean things are going well (I felt dreadful in the weeks before my MMC was discovered) and a lack of them doesn't necessarily mean things are going wrong (I'm lying here feeling my little bean wriggling away as I type)

Hoping the next few weeks go as smoothly and quickly for you as possible.

Here's some more Flowers for you too Ginger. So glad you're finding some comfort here.

Hugs and Thanks Ginger, just wanted to say I am thinking of you. I think you are coping so well with this but of course you are going to be upset. As someone else said though, you will love this baby so much when he arrives. I really hope next week goes ok.

Brummie I have been all about the pregnancy rage this time, poor DH has got it in the neck countless times!

gingerbreadmam · 06/06/2015 09:04

thank you everyone Thanks

Metalhead · 06/06/2015 09:10

gum I know exactly how you feel, I was the same before my scan, and now it's just like Groundhog Day because we still can't relax and have more waiting to do until we get the Harmony test done. I too am thoroughly sick of all the worrying! On top of that I still feel pretty awful physically every night, and it's getting hard to hide the bump/bloat...

Gr33dyeggs · 06/06/2015 09:24

Hello again! The thread disappeared from my list...
Anyway, welcome newbies and brummie (We've been on a couple of threads).
gingerbread glad you're feeling a little more positive, must be a massive shock.
longest CONGRATS!
imnot the bleeding sounds scary but great you got to hear a heartbeat.
Also sorry to hear of high risk results for some.

Well I'm 19+1 today. Scan Monday 15th. Scared and excited in equal measure! I'm getting lots of movement and have been using the angelsounds quickly for reassurance when scooby has had a quiet spell.
Nausea has returned never really left but I think I just need to eat more frequently. If all goes well with the scan I'm getting a snuzpod. It will be our only purchase as we are re using everything else from ds.
Happy weekend - the sun's shining here! I'm off to join your FB group!

Brummiegirl15 · 06/06/2015 09:31

Aahhh Gr33dy lovely to see you!!!!! Yes I finally managed to get back here for attempt number. 4 - I'm 5+1

See you on the fb page!!!!

Oh my word, I'm now in the top ten! Eeek. This shiz is getting real!

Gumblossom · 06/06/2015 10:57

Wow! Look at how many babies have arrived safely! How wonderful!

Thanks so much for the list, thesmallbear.Star

Feeling like a complete silly-billy right now because I feel quite sick again Hmm

I think I need to go into a coma for 4 more weeks!

Thank you so much for all the reassuring comments.Having this support is amazing, as there's not a lot in RL and pregnancy after miscarriage is a complete headf*#k (pardon me)

Meant to say earlier: Congratulations Longest Flowers

I can't believe I'm third in the queue Shock I remember when I was right at the bottom of the list!

I had such a bad nights sleep. Needed to get up for a wee about 10 times, than I kept getting thirsty so had to fetch myself water, then I was hungry so made myself toast, then the horrible taste in my mouth was keeping me awake. Oh well, not long to go now. And not complaining really, so happy I've made it this far Smile

Massive congratulations longest :)

smallbear don't feel bad for complaining! I've been struggling with lack of sleep. Turning over every hour as my hips hurt so much, going to the toilet every few hours, having to have a drink. Wake up feeling more tired.
It will all be worth it :) 15 weeks to go.

Things always seem far worse at night, don't they? I know it's the time when I think "arrrrrrrgh, I need this baby out now!!!" I've got really bad restless legs and feet this time so struggle to get to and stay asleep with that going on. I had SPD last time and so I'm defo not complaining too much because that was pure agony! Indigestion and acid is bloody horrid this time. Always when I lie down in bed. Gaviscon tablets get rid pretty quickly but still Confused

I've bought a tiny love rocker today. Would've been an extravagance but it's second hand and just £20 so I don't feel too guilty. Hospital bags both packed too now. Feeling like im ready..... Although I have horrid feeling baby is actually lying transverse so am going to look at exercises that will get the munchkin heading the right way out!

brummie definitely nothing wrong with you. You're just pregnant Smile I can be a right mardy cow. Always to dh.

ginger you are going to be such a wonderful mummy to your little boy. He'll be perfect and you'll overcome any obstacles as they come along.

Well we've been to see In the Night Garden Live today up in London town. We're all exhausted and i'm as sick as a dog now from all the effort it took me. Can't believe how emotional I was when it started. I love my ds so much it hurts sometimes. Really hope he will become the awesome big bro I always hoped he would. Maybe not for the big family I use to naively dream of. I don't know if I can keep doing this if this time doesn't work.

Reassurance scan in the morning... One day at a time hey.

Big weekend wave at everyone. Hope you managed to get some vit d if the sun was shining today!
