How much did you pay for your pram?

I know it's a bit of a personal thing but I'm trying to find out how much a typical pram costs and what other people are paying? We've seen some we like at £400, some at £600 and one at £1,000. What were other people happy to pay?

Old model Uppababy Vista, around £625 iirc. Fantastic pram, well worth it for me.

Got ours in the sale reduced from £350 to £275. Graco Travel system! Didn't feel comfortable spending some of the prices we saw.

applecore0317 · 04/05/2015 19:54

Reduced to £175 not 275

Bought the Oyster 2 today. £369 in John Lewis. Paid £209 as we had £160 JL giftcards from our wedding. Really pleased as I wanted one to go with the Maxi-cosi Cabriofix with Isofix base that my sister gave us.
Can't wait til the little man arrives in August!

We got a baby jogger citi select which was $Usd1000. The frame was twisted by SAS and they denied responsibility. I now fly with a $12 maclaren which is $425 new. I find myself using the cheap stroller all the time.

I would def consider going 2nd hand. I wish I had gotten my stupidly expensive citi select 2nd hand as I would have saved $700.

Sorry for double post!

£250 for an ex display mamas and papas Zoom including carrycot which clips to the frame for when they're small.

Dd1 is now two and was using it daily until dd2 arrived a few weeks ago and now she's in it.

We were tempted to spend more but am glad we didn't, we've been more than happy with it, it's a 3 wheeler so turns on a sixpence which is very handy in shops, it's very lightweight and folds nice and flat.

About £400 for a 0+ Babyzen Yoyo that the inlaws bought for us. We were living in a first floor flat at the time so needed something light that could be easily folded and carried up the stairs. Then we bought an Out and About Nipper when we moved house as there was more opportunity for off–road walks. We got a deal from Pramworld which included a footmuff and shopping basket. Think we paid £180 for it.

£250 for a 2nd hand Bugaboo Bee off ebay. Hoping/planning on having two quite close together so didn't want to buy new as hopefully we'll need to upgrade to a double fairly soon!

Purpleball · 04/05/2015 20:12

Planning a Silver Cross Pioneer from their outlet shop where a slightly scuffed one is £200 cheaper at £450 instead of £650

Car seat is £130 plus base £125

I have looked at others but I can't find one I like more and we will hopefully have another after this one (currently 20 weeks with dc1)

TerrifiedMothertobe · 04/05/2015 20:15

£1000 for a bugaboo chameleon. Amazing pram, worth every penny. Done us for two biys and has had heavy use and overseas travel. Will probably give to my brother and sister in law ... If they are ever in need.

VenusVanDamme · 04/05/2015 20:18

£650 for the silver cross pioneer and colour pack. Think we got the car seat for £120. It's used every day dog walking so has been worth it.

StoneBaby · 04/05/2015 20:28

Paid £150 for a new gracco which came with the baby car seat.

NightsOfGethsemane · 04/05/2015 20:35

We bought a travel system for around £600 - it included pushchair, car seat and carrycot.

We used it for about a year before retiring it. Being able to put the car seat on the chassis was very useful but we hardly used the carrycot and the pushchair bit was mahoosive and heavy.

We then bought a BJCM stroller which has been used for 2 kids over 5 years and is fabulous. If I ever have another baby I will use this from birth and buy the car seat adapters for it to make a travel system.

Racheyg · 04/05/2015 20:43

with ds1 we brought a uppababy vista for about 625.00, I am due ds2 in 3 weeks and we have brought a second hand icandy peach blossom for 300.00 on ebay. Reason for changing was the old uppababy vista toddler seat attachment has been discontinued so we needed a double travel system.

SophyStantonLacy · 04/05/2015 20:49

We were given a (new) Maclaren which was about £200 for DC1, used it for DC2 as well. Have been given a second hand Phil & Teds that has done 2 kids already for DC3, but if we hadn't been given that was looking to spend around £100 on a second hand Mountain Buggy off Ebay.

SycamoreMum · 04/05/2015 20:50

I paid £1150 roughly for the Quinny Moodd with a Maxi Cosi Pebble, foldable carry cot, parasol, footmuff, cup holder Grin the salesman saw me coming! However its been an absolute delight to use and is loved by my DD who now uses it as a pushchair. I've actually sold on several pieces so I'm getting some money back.

ch1134 · 04/05/2015 20:51

Quinny Buzz £450 on sale.
I wouldn't get it again as the shopping basket and hood are terrible, you can't adjust the seat position with baby in it, and it can't convert to a double.
Having said that, it drives like a dream, outperforms any other I've seen on all terrain and is pretty easy to get up and down. And I've used it every day for 16 months so far, so it wasn't a rip off.
Knowing what I know now, I think an uppababy vista from ebay would've been better for us going on all our country walks.

ToodlesMcToodles · 04/05/2015 20:52

Bugaboo chameleon which I think was around £850, including car seat. Fm and DSis halved it between them. I sold it 3years later for £400. I absolutely loved that pram, used carrycot for DS to sleep in as a baby and as a buggy till he was walking everywhere so felt we got our money's worth.
The money we got when we sold bought his big boy bed and room stuff.

We got the orb when it had £100 off, with car seat, pram and adapters it came to £410, (also used vouchers from mothercare mag)
I was amazed how expensive they are to be honest, my dds are 11 and 6 and theirs were half the price x

JaniceJoplin · 04/05/2015 20:57

I had the bugaboo donkey at a whooping £920 including 20% discount, but we sold it a year later for £850Smile.
