How much did you pay for your pram?

I know it's a bit of a personal thing but I'm trying to find out how much a typical pram costs and what other people are paying? We've seen some we like at £400, some at £600 and one at £1,000. What were other people happy to pay?

Skiptonlass Also don't babies sleep outside in their buggies in Sweden? That means it's going to get even more use Wink

I'm pg with my first. Got the Mothercare catalogue and realised that if we sold the car, we might have enough for a new travel system thing Shock

Got a bit overwhelmed looking at all the options, and have no confidence I can choose well without knowing what I'll be doing once the baby's born so gave up and spent £10 on a second hand buggy. It's in good nick, works from newborn to 15kg, and should handle the local (rough) terrain well. Have also spend £10 on a second hand sling.

I figure I can spend a month's rent at Mothercare if I need to once the baby's born :)

They do yes!! And you do have to have something very sturdy here for a winter baby if you want to go out walking (see how I justify the silly price....)

£275 for nipper out n about including the car seat adapters. To me this was a lot of money for a pram considering my first car cost £400! I did a lot of research before buying and tbh it seems after £300 you are paying for the brand rather than superior quality

We have a Jane Rider - it was expensive but it's been used constantly for 2 years and is still in good condition. We also have a stroller for flying which was £100 and the frame is buckling, and it's nowhere near as easy to push as the Jane.

I don't like slings, too similar to the third trimester for my liking, I'm looking forward to not having extra weight to carry about! Also have no desire to carry my shopping when I can wheel it around Smile

The problem is you can't be sure exactly what your lifestyle will be like with the baby and what your priorities will be. All I know is if something is faintly annoying in the shop, when you've got a newborn it will be The Biggest Disaster Ever.

We nearly bought a Cosatto - half the price of the Jane and has a 7 year guarantee. Worth a look I think.

Out'n'about double nipper. Paid £300 in 2006 and used it every day for 2 years with my twins. They slept outside in it almost every day. I live in Scotland and bought very good cosy toes. Great pushchair, light to push and went on all terrains including bogs, beaches, cobbles and fields.
Couldn't attach car seats and that never caused me a problem.
Sold it after 3 years for £150
