I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.

There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos/
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk/
If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!prescribinginfosub

I would like to thank Everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

MeerkaMany sympathies - sorry to hear that. Get better soon; it brings back awful memories Shock. On a grotesque subject, as there's no tmi here, I have met people who could vomit quietly and genteely. However did they do it? I am NOT of their number, never have got the knack.

Meerka sorry you've caught a bug :( must be awful in this weather! Hope you are feeling better soon!

Lucinda I am normally of the horribly loud and disgusting noises club but this morning in the public loos I somehow managed to quietly vomit!! (other than coughing) Well... I think I did anyhow, certainly not as loud as my usual grand display!

eallison88 · 01/07/2015 10:07

Pre HG I was a silent vomiter. This skill was lost in the throes of HG. Now it's a mix. Occasionally now I manage a silent vom, but it's difficult and I worry that it just sounds like I've got diarrhea instead... I think I'd rather people know I was vomiting than think that!!!

Anyone else finding the heat is making everything worse?! Vomiting, spd, swollen feet (or foot in my case), general grumpiness?! Been sick three times already this morning, not been this bad for weeks if not a month or two. Ondansetron is doing nothing :( or is doing something and I dread to think how shite I'd feel if didn't have it...!

Amyyy27 · 01/07/2015 10:12

eallison that made me giggle I certainly hadn't thought of it that way!! Yes to the heat making things worse :( No swollen feet yet but terrible SPD after it had eased a lot last week, sickness worse and extremely grumpy!

LucindaE · 01/07/2015 12:05

eallison I see your point; like amy couldn't help but grin.
New thread, everyone, running out of space.

mirabel yes we are pretty much the same! What's your due date? Mine is 22nd feb I think.

I stupidly drove the GP with DS to get more cyclizine for holiday. Almost vomited and fainted in the Gps. Blood pressure of 90/50 which isn't bad for me and keystones are +1 - she offered to switch to another anti sickness (didn't say which) but gave me a choice. Didn't know what to say so said I would stick with it for a bit seeing as I've only been on them a few days. She also said to get my keystones checked tomorrow, but at the risk of missing my flight on Friday, I think I'll wait until Monday when we are in Norway. Rather be in hospital there.

mygreeneyedboy · 01/07/2015 17:34

Oh and the other part of the story was that I felt so ill I didn't want to drive back. My mum had to drive to get us even though she has a deadline at her work Confused

Mygreeneyedboy Just checking back nobody has been left behind on the old thread, which is nearly full

You poor thing, that doesn't sound good. I'm glad the GP is prepared to try different meds. All luck for your holiday, when are you due to go?
