Hi - I would like to get a tens machine to hopefully help with labour. Can anyone recommend a kind which is particularly good? Mama tens? Elle? I am going to buy one rather than hire. Many thanks

I wrote earlier and ipad died!
I used an Elle Tens with my first and I've hired it again this time round as I found it brilliant - I couldn't tell you if it's the best brand as I've not used any others, but on my one experience I would recommend! I also couldn't really tell you if it worked as I've never given birth without it so don't know the pain difference, but the Boost setting certainly gave me something to concentrate on during contractions!

If you decide to hire rather than buy then I have used this company, I didn't choose speedy delivery or anything and it arrived the next day - excellent service and it comes with spare pads to try it out before the actual labour.
I used the Boots hire one last time, also excellent but his company was cheaper for the same product.

I would advise getting one with a landyard, that way you don't have to worry about carrying it - a little thing, but it helped me!

Brilliant - thanks so much PazRaz for the recommendation and tips. Will check out the Elle, it was on my shortlist!

croon, i used a mamatens for my 2 homebirths, and planning on using it again this coming month for DC3. It was very good, and i have no qualms re recommending it, but i did my (full on, probably way too much) research in buying it 6 years ago, and haven't used anything else but this one...
