That your second and subsequent babies weigh more than your first ? Just concerned as my first was 7lb and I'm only tiny myself, worried about a larger baby this time ? Is it true or made up ? Also are labours shorter the second time ?

My second labour was half the length and dc2 1.5lbs heavier than dc1.

My labours were about the same, DS2 was 1oz lighter than DS1.

Dc2 was a shorter labour but also 14oz lighter, Dc1 was the largest I had.

Ist labour 24 hours after 48hrs inducing
2nd labour 4 hours from waters breaking at 37 weeks
both weighed 6lb 9oz

Am pregnant with my first so cannot answer personally, however my older brother was 8lbs 6oz and I was 7lbs 3oz.

My friends DC1 was 9lbs 4oz and DC2 was 9lbs 2oz, both born within days of due date

I'm hoping so, my first was premature and 6lb 9. I've been told subsequent babies are more on time so I'm hoping for a good weight term baby this time!

Dc1 7lb 8oz 39hr labour
Dc2 8lb 4oz 8.5hr labour
Dc3 7lb 4oz 1.5hr labour

Of my three, my first was the biggest and second smallest. All the same gestation.

1st labour : 2 and a half hours and baby weighed 8lb 3oz
2nd labour: 3 hours and baby weighed 10lb.

I am also quite tiny and the midwife was surprised at the size of dc2 but in reality the pain level was pretty much the same as with dc1.

Mine got shorter and shorter until DS2 (DC4), then he had to be induced and was my longest labour at 6 hours. They also got lighter and lighter until DS2, then he was my heaviest at 9 lb 12 oz. He was overdue by 13 days though.

DS1 - 42 hour labour and just over 9lb
DD1 is due in 5 weeks, I'm hoping for a shorter labour but I'm already having growth scans because I'm measuring over 40 weeks already. I'm expecting a whopper!

DS1 - 48 hour labour, 9lb born on due date
DD - no labour, born 38 weeks exactly 8lb 2oz
DS2 - soon to find out!

no my first was my biggest (3.5kg/3.3kg/3kg/3.2kg).

i am only on my first, but from my family births, i can tell you that the labours became much shorter, but the babies stayed about the same size. my SIL was in hospital for 3 days with the first, and the whole thing was over in 3 hours with her third!

DD was born 2 weeks early and weighed 7lb6 oz I had an induced labour which lasted 14 and a half hours

DS was born on his due date and weighed 7lb3 oz labour was roughly 3 hours from start to finish

eagerly awaiting what baby no 3 will be and how long it will take

First labour and first baby were liege and smaller respectively ....
However I do wonder if the time between babies has anything todo with it - have a 4 ear gap this time so curious!

My 1st labour was 16 hours and baby was 8lb 5oz
My 2nd labour was 2 & 1/2 hours and baby was 8lb

So labour got quicker but baby got smaller
I'm pregnant again and worried about the labour time getting quicker, 2nd baby was nearly born in the car! This one actually might be!

Both mine were 7lb 3oz.

First labour was about 3.5 hours. Second labour was so fast DS was born in the street.

There were 2 oz between the weights of my two - dd was 7lb 11oz and ds was 7lb 13oz

DC1 labour was 26 hours, weighed 8lb 13 oz
DC2 labour was 3.5 hours, weighed 8lb 13 oz
Pregnant with dc3 & not sure what to expect!
