Anyone else having 12 week scan this week?

Mine is on Wednesday and I'm really nervous about it. Possibly more than I was with dd partly because at 42 I think this is probably the final chance. Everywhere I look seems to be stories of mmc at first scan. Logically I know the odds are in my favour but I'm even worrying that by worrying I could cause a problem!!

Just wondering if anyone else is at the same stage.

Hey, yes I've got mine on Thurs - scared, excited and can't wait all at the same time! It's my first so I still don't believe I'm actually pregnant :)

Have you seen the October baby bus thread on the ante-natal club page? Lots of us there all going through the same stuff :)

crispiecrunchie · 23/03/2015 21:08

Thanks mini maybe I should pop over there! Scared and excited too. I don't think I will believe I can get on a bus until after the scan!

Private scan at 11 wks as nhs one is miles off and I'm anxious! This is not pfb even yet I'm worse!

crispiecrunchie · 23/03/2015 22:01

I know I'll be 12 plus 4 and it has taken forever to come round! Not my first either. I'll be worried again within days even if the scan is fine!!

Wednesday for me. Feel anxious despite already having had 5 scans!! Was initially pregnant with twins but lost one. Now feel scared there will be something wrong with this one. Baby no 3 and age 38.

crispiecrunchie · 24/03/2015 07:25

Wow five!!! so sorry to hear about the loss of one twin. At least mine is in the morning so will know what's happening by tomorrow lunch

Hello everyone! Yes I'm having mine on friday, I'll be 12+5. I have already had a scan at 7 weeks to check all ok (it was!) as I unfortunately had a suspected ectopic pregnancy and miscarriage last oct. I was dead nervous about it so very relieved when all ok. But... couldn't see a great deal as baby was so tiny, so really hoping to see a baby type shape in there this time! Good luck everyone, we have chance on our side now Smile (although I do keep torturing myself about everything that could still go wrong- stop it stop it stop it!).

crispiecrunchie · 24/03/2015 20:09

Hey plonkie I am 12+3 tomorrow for my scan so we must have same due date?? 4 October? I know the odds are totally on our favour. I had a miscarriage at seven eels in September but decided against an early scan this time. Saving for harmony test if I come back high risk for anything instead. I feel a bit more positive today. Dp keeps reminding me we were exactly as nervous first time round!

crispiecrunchie · 24/03/2015 21:23

Hey happily! Not long for you to wait then. It's taken so long I can't believe I'm nearly there!

Crispiecrunchie, yes, wow 4th oct is due date and we must have had the miscarriages at very similar time too. Just shows its sooo common, makes me feel more normal! So, updates people- please give me all the details of your scans! I'm worried we might not see much on mine as I'm quite the chubster :-( xx

crispiecrunchie · 25/03/2015 17:27

Well scan went absolutely fine. We ended up in there for 45 minutes so she could getthe measurements. Nuchal was 2.6 which I think is a bit high. We were considering the harmony anyway though. I nearly burst into tears at the start I was so nervous!

Chchchchanging · 25/03/2015 19:30

Should say that was private
2 weeks till nhs and nuchal fold
Fingers crossed for a healthy check in
Hope everyone is getting on ok

OMGBabyNo3 · 25/03/2015 21:17

Yay crispie! Mine was all good too. Nuchal 1.5mm and bloods 'good for my age'!!. I'll take that. So relieved it went ok.

HappilyMrsR · 25/03/2015 22:03

Great to hear your good news everyone. V anxious about Friday and not sure quite what to expect - I have an underlying health issue which concerns me a little so not sure if my appt will be with a consultant or longer than average, or... Guess I'll know in a few days time! How long has the last 7 weeks dragged?!

crispiecrunchie · 26/03/2015 07:43

Unfortunately we don't get the blood test results for a fortnight. scan anxiety now nuchal anxiety! Having harmony on Monday anyway. Good luck to those on Friday. Update us! I assume it's just the sonographer you see but they will ask for another opinion if necessary. My due date is forward a day to 3 October

Hi girls!! Thank you for this thread!! my Week 12 scan will be next Wednesday. I had yesterday the screening test . So is it correct that usually you have the combined result the day of your nuchal scan?? I try not to worry but the concern is there due to my age, so we are considering the harmony test as well.
I will keep following all of you and congratulations OMG and good luck with the harmony crispi. Good luck for all you girls Smile

crispiecrunchie · 26/03/2015 12:58

Hello gc. I think it depends where you are. I'm central Scotland and we wait at least two weeks but they take blood the same day as the scan maybe that's why. People on here seem to get to get results the same day often!. Harmony is two weeks so I have an anxious fortnight. Slightly higher nuchal and I'm 42! Ill let you know how the harmony is. Next week will be here before you know it.

gcerron · 26/03/2015 18:38

Thank you crispi I am in London, I hope I can also have my result next Wednesday at my nuchal scan. Ohhh and I am 41 that's why I am expecting high risk and considering doing the harmony test. I am glad that you are just slghtly high, it gives me some hope as well!! Smile good luck and yes keep us updated please!!

crispiecrunchie · 26/03/2015 19:14

I was 40 with dd and got 6000:1 so age is definitely only one of many factors! Higher age and nuchal will put the risk up a bit this time. Just hope it's not by too much. Harmony is500 but will be worth it.

OP posts:
gcerron · 26/03/2015 20:10

Precisely! I will call the clinic it seems that here it's £450 but as you said it worth plus it has 95% of precision in comparison with the cvs of NHS that has 85% according the mw who did my first appointment. Plus harmony test is not an invasive test and detects others chromosomes disorders and those are the main reason that made us going for the harmony test.

crispiecrunchie · 26/03/2015 20:40

Same reasons as us. The good result wee Got with Dd was nhs and I didn't really know about the harmony so didn't consider it. The risk of mc puts me off especially as we lean towards continuing with the pregnancy provided it's not a severe life limiting issue. We won't know for sure till we are in that position though
