Great news commander that baby is measuring within normal! must have been a huge relief for you both.

Welcome to the newbies and sorry to hear about those of you going through rough times.

I have my 20 week scan this afternoon (cue why I'm awake just now), we are not going to find out the sex but I'll no doubt be trying to guess from the picture afterwards all being well. Feel like I'm in a battle with myself over trying to be positive about the scan but then worrying if I'm positive something bad will happen.

On another note did anyone get big quite quickly then slow down or if My bumps big now will I just keep growing? I'm not bothered either way I'll happily get as big as baby wants me to be but just curious because it's first time.

Need to post more so not always an essay?!Grin

Cariad2014 · 17/04/2015 06:49

With apologies for not reading back (I promise I will). Just wondering if I can join. I certainly seem to remember a number of you.

Stats are as follows: Cariad2014, dc1, EDD 16 December
Had a cp at 4+5 in June 2014 followed by a ruptured ectopic and tube removal in September 2014. Currently 5 weeks, 2 days.

Scan at 5 weeks confirmed there was a gestational sac and a yolk sac in my uterus. Assuming I get that far, I'll be going back for a follow up scan in two weeks' time.

Thepurplegiraffe · 17/04/2015 07:35

Yeh Cariad great to see you here and congratulations! Fantastic news you got your bfp and even better than the scan was positive.

Cava after weeks of not growing much I suddenly feel like it's all happening at once. I haven't gone much above pre pregnancy weight and now in the last few weeks the weight is piling on and I feel pretty big. Hope it slows down a bit or I will be huge!

Littlelady33 · 17/04/2015 07:53

Welcome cariad and congrats. Cava I wasn't looking pregnant at all until about wk 22 and since then the bump has been getting really quite huge! When women in particular ask when I'm due they're often visibly surprised that I've still got about 3 months to go! I think that because I'm a very small build its a bit exaggerated but my mother did warn me that this would happen - big bumps and big old babies in our family. I'm really enjoying it tbh although wish I hadn't splashed out on maternity gear at five months as it clearly won't last the course! Smile

Treaclepie19 · 17/04/2015 08:31

Welcome and congrats again cariad :)

Good luck cava, enjoy seeing your little one :)

Thinking of you, fifi Flowers

Torturing myself now worrying about IUGR now. This is just ridiculous; I wish my brain would shut up for a bit.

Boozle80 · 17/04/2015 09:39

Woohoo Cariad awesome to see you here!
Cava I looked massive from the bfp and was is mat clothes from about ten weeks - I seem to be slowing down a bit now but it may just be slightly less obvious to me! I've been told to expect this one to be a whopper though. My dd was 10lb which I thought was big enough but we'll wait and see - as you say, I really don't mind one bit as long as it all goes ok! I've found knee length tunics work quite well as maternity tops!

Boozle80 · 17/04/2015 09:41

Fifi I hope everything goes as well as it can for you today, I'll be thinking of you

I didn't need the ERPC after all. Pretty much everything came away yesterday. Looking forwards to a nice relaxing weekend before starting TTC again! Thank you so much everyone for your kindness and support xx

longestlurkerever · 17/04/2015 13:25

Flowers Fifi. Hope to see you back here soon. Boozle I hope you get reassurance. Like you say, sounds like overcaution but I realise how worrying it must be when they say things like that.

cavamonster · 17/04/2015 14:07

fifi hope you indulge yourself this weekend and get huge hugs from your ds.

sunbathing that comment cracked me up sorry! See I've been big from the start but it just shows no bounds of stopping...I'm only little so I'm scared I just turn into a bump with a head and feet Grin nah tbh I couldn't care less if I turned purple and the bump came out the back if the baby is ok Smile

Remind me- 20 week scan I don't have to do the water guzzling before do I?
Nerves really kicking in now!

Treaclepie19 · 17/04/2015 14:32

Fifi, there are no words. Thinking of you xxx

I've been big from the start but I think it was mainly bloat. I don't seem to have changed for ages, if anything I'm smaller but I think it's cus the bloat is gone and now it's just bump.
At least I know baby is still wriggling around :)

When is your scan cava? Mine isn't til the 11th May when ill be 21+2.

Sorry to keep posting, i feel a bit odd today.
It's a year ago today we found out I was pregnant with the baby we lost.
I've healed a lot and being pregnant again is definitely helping and I'm over the moon but I can't help thinking about it.
I'm determined to have a good birthday this year also as last year I was in hospital so they could check the bleeding.
I sort of hadn't expected all these memories to still get to me now I'm pregnant.

Sorry for the moan ladies x

There's a heart beat! A teeny 3mm smudge on the screen with a flicker of a heart beat visible. I'm absolutely stunned and still in shock Grin

The sonographer said it measures 5 and a half weeks and there's nothing to worry about. I'm so relieved. Well, I was relieved for about a minute and then utter fear kicked in!!! Amazing.

Still having mild cramp/twinges but she said not to worry, maybe just growth or movement or something.

Thanks for your help Sunbathing and Boozle x

cherrylola · 17/04/2015 18:29

Needless to say I'm keeping everything crossed for the foreseeable future!

SuzyBean · 17/04/2015 18:29

Joseph Rowan was born on Tuesday evening after a fairly quick labour. He's 7lb 8 and gorgeous.
It was all very eventful as my 5 yr old DS contracted chicken pox 2 days before my due date and it transpires that I'm not immune. Anyway despite lots of blood test and antibody injections and being known as 'the chicken pox lady' at my hospital we are all fine.

fifi I had two mc in a row and at 39 I thought I had missed the boat and it would never happen. I remember being so sad at my 5 yr olds bday ly as he should have already had a little brother and I was worried about the age gap. There was no particular reasons for my mcs, I was just 'unlucky'. For me it was third time lucky and I hope it is for you too. X

longestlurkerever · 17/04/2015 19:03

Congratulations suzy Grin.

And cherry too. Great news.

treacle being pregnant doesn't take away all the pain does it? I still struggled a bit at my friend's baby shower which was around my due date and I had a well established bump by then.
