Hello this thread is purely for off loading purposes as I've no one in rl.
Today I went to a walk in early pregnancy clinic as im preg I thought five weeks ish and having major cramps. They were so marvelous. Did me a scan which showed gestational sac and egg sac all looking good. They've made me an appointment for 2 weeks to check for heartbeat. Thank god for nhs.
I'm in a tricky situation with this pregnancy as im 44, my husband left a while ago and I have also had gynaecological cancer .
Ex h wants abortion. Best friend thinks I should terminate. But..something is telling me to stop and just be for now..i see my cancer consultant this week for a post op check up so I shall ask his advice.
Thanks for listening and again I would say the nhs is amazing. Even though I've had no bleeding they did everything they could to make me feel totally relaxed (wwas worried I might be time wasting)
Thanks for reading x

That's lovely Sandgrown thank you.
I feel very alone with it all right now and I will be on my own every step of the way.
Just the logistics of appointments, birth , everything seems scary.
I'm not sleeping well so I'm sure this is affecting my mood.
I have a job and rent a nice ish house! So that's ok.
But I will have to do all of this on my own . No babysitters or helpers!
And I don't want dd age 8 to suffer. Although she would love a baby sister or brother!
Still not told anyone in rl. Going to go to gp this week.

Oh , medically my cancer doc said nothing to worry about. I may need assistance at birth but he will be there for me . He's so lovely.

Congratulations pnutter!

I have no words of wisdom for you, but I want to send you my best. And to say you aren't totally alone because you have us to talk to Flowers

pnutter · 16/03/2015 00:46

Thanks Silver :-)

im sure your DD will be fine. my mum had 8 years between DC3 and 4 she said it was easier as older one is able to amuse themselves for a while then yoh can concentrate on baby.
glad medically things are seeming good.

VikingLady · 16/03/2015 08:57

Your DD might be excited, and want to come with you to appointments!

And an Ex only has a valid opinion if he is the father AND he made sure he used a condom. And even then, it's still your body = your choice in the end. Pg is an occupational hazard of sex!

pnutter · 16/03/2015 09:47

Funnily enough she kissed my tummy this morning and said hello in there!

She would be a very good big sister

I have stopped all contact with ex

pnutter, with 2 DC you are well aware and experienced of the work involved so is wont come as any shock, probably a welcome, positive, happy if hard work adventure to re-discover again!!

If your husband left a while ago he would be saying that- so would not take anything he says as too much to consider. How sad your best friend could give such a forthright opinion on this too.
I think it sounds like you are wanting to keep baby, and if you decide too, think after your recent battles it really would be something exciting to look forwards too.

pnutter · 18/03/2015 09:55

Me again...im so fed up (sorry)
Saw gp yesterday who said because of my age and because i was taking anti depressants she feels the pregnancy might not be viable. It may have been a mmc. I know shes talking rubbish because of my strong symptoms. But it put me on such a downer.

Also i feel sick 24/7 and im not sleeping very well at night

I have a scan monday

OP posts:
fattymcfatfat · 18/03/2015 11:14

how can the gp be so sure? if you feel pregnant still then chances are you are still pregnant!

just try to relax until Monday Smile

pnutter · 18/03/2015 11:42

Thanks fatty (i feel rude calling you that)
I am seriously exhausted and feel very pregnant so i really cant see how the gp can know? Xray vision?

OP posts:
fattymcfatfat · 18/03/2015 11:54

dont worry about it, I am a fatty Wink

if she has xray vision then I need to see her, she can tell me how loose my spine is then!

What a ball sack! She sounds like a dick.
Everything crossed for your scan pnutter I've got my 12wk scan on the 30th. It cant come fast enough!

pnutter · 18/03/2015 12:16

Thanks all..nothing like a positive mental attitude from a doctor :-)

OP posts:
PacificDogwood · 18/03/2015 18:44

Well, I can give you positive mental attitude from this dr (and geriatric mother Grin) - nobody can possibly know what the outcome of any pregnancy is going to be.
Yes, your risks might be a bit higher, but risks are just that; risks, not certainties.

Gawd, the next few days must be very long for you.
Hope you've got stuff on to keep yourself busy and distracted.
Smile

DinoSnores · 18/03/2015 19:17

Congratulations! Your posts here make it very clear to me that you want to have this baby!

Hope Monday's scan goes well! Flowers

(Remember that there is very, very little you can to cause or prevent a miscarriage. After losing a baby later on in one pregnancy, I spent my next pregnancies repeating every day, "Today, I am pregnant!")

Snowflake15 · 18/03/2015 19:21

Pnutter that gp sounds like an idiot! When's your next scan? You sound like a lovely lady I have no doubt you can do this, even if it is alone! Ex h's loss

ChewyGiraffe · 19/03/2015 00:13

Just wanted to add my congratulations. What a strange comment from your GP! You sound like you want this baby and you can indeed do it as a single parent - with your older kids, you know what to expect after all. I do hope your scan on Monday goes well.

How adorable that your DD kissed your tummy and said hello in there! And how weird (in a good way) too! Had you told her about your pregnancy? I couldn't see anywhere that you had told her, but maybe I missed it?

SilverShins · 19/03/2015 06:07

What a bonkers doctor! I can't see a need for them to have said that. Pecker up pnutter Smile

pnutter · 19/03/2015 09:31

Thanks all of you! My pecker is back up. I havent told dd but she has always longed for a younger sibling she is such a loving girl. She will be awesome.
Still feel preg! X
