As the title says, I was wondering if anyone had been convinced of a date that their baby would arrive on and were you right?

I'm not talking about getting to 40 weeks then having signs and thinking they'll be here the following day but for months having an inkling that they'll arrive on a certain date.

I've been given March 1st as my EDD which is Sunday but for months I can't shake the feeling that she'll be here on the 26th Feb which is tomorrow, so much so that I feel like tomorrow is the due date I've been working towards and March 1st means nothing to me.

With dd1 I had no symptoms whatsoever and she arrived naturally 2 days early, my first twinge was the first contraction.
With this one I've had a few periods of twinges but they always stop and so far I've hardly glanced at the clock as I'm so convinced it's tomorrow!!

I'd be really interested to hear if anyone else had felt the same and been right although I'll probably update this on Friday morning still very much pregnant Grin

28th feb for me. Due on 19th March. Ftm so no idea what I'm talking about. Other than kicks getting quite painful, not had anything to suggest baby is imminent...

Keep me posted!

Sparkly1234 · 25/02/2015 17:33

Hi, I am also due 1st March! I have a feeling it could be the 28th, but not a really strong feeling. Not sure it will happen on Friday as doesn't feel like anything is starting yet.
Have you had any signs yet?

melmo26 · 25/02/2015 18:57

My first two were born on a close relatives birthday, dd1 waters broke 3 days before giving birth but didn't think anything of it, dd2 was due 2 days before my brothers birthday, I remember joking about it being the same day. It was.
Dd3 was due 10 days before dh sis birthday, we thought no way would we go overdue by 10 days. She did.
With dd4 we thought there were no relatives around her date, but when speaking to MIL she told us that DH sister that died when he was young, her bday was the day before the due date, so yeah, I KNEW dd4 was coming on that day.

All 4 of our dd's are born on close relatives

Gunpowder · 25/02/2015 19:01

Was convinced whole way through my pregnancy DD would be 2 days late. I remember telling my mum. Was right! Smile

PolpoPolpo · 25/02/2015 19:10

I think I must be very stubborn.

The due date I was given for DD1 wasn't convenient so I decided to make it three days earlier and wrote it in my diary. She turned up bang on the day I picked.

The due date for baby two felt much more convenient so I put it in my diary as it was. Arrived exactly on time.

It's either:

A. The power of the mind
B. A magic diary
C. Pure bloody coincidence

(The answer is C by the way).

PolpoPolpo · 25/02/2015 19:18

Oh and more importantly good luck with giving birth! Very exciting.

MaelstromOfLunacy · 25/02/2015 19:20

Was due October 26th, was convinced he'd come on October 21st. I ended up being scheduled for an ELCS after discovering very late on that he was breech. ELCS date was October 21st Smile

Dogsmom · 25/02/2015 19:32

This is all sounding very promising, I'm now even more convinced it's tomorrow, I've just put dd1 to bed and when I said goodnight absent mindedly also told her I might not be there in the morning but wouldn't be long.

Signs wise there's nothing significant happening, I had a failed sweep last Thursday and have since lost my plug.
I've been to the loo for 3 days in a row which is unheard of for me and yesterday I simply had to clean from morning until 8pm and felt wide awake until early hours this morning.

Today though nothing at all, I'm remarkably normal and if it wasn't for my bump I'd forget I was pregnant.

M33r and Sparkly it'll be interesting to know if you're both right about Friday.

Baby is due on the 7th July and I'm convinced it will come on the 14th. Partly because it's our wedding anniversary and partly because my brothers birthday was the 11th of the month, mine is the 12th and DD's is the 13th Smile

Sparkly1234 · 25/02/2015 19:43

Yes will have to see what happens on Friday, seems like it could be possible from some of the stories. My grandma, mum and myself all have birthdays on the 28th, all different months though. We are also all the oldest of other siblings, and this is my first baby. I don't know yet if it is a girl or boy either!
Dogsmom you will have to update us if it happens tomorrow, good luck.

Ihateparties · 25/02/2015 19:50

Haaaa... #1 I was sure he'd be late but no specific day. He was. #2 I predicted EDD, was right 7am sharp. #3 I was totally sure, 2 days early I said. Certain. Mentally moved the due date and everything.

14 days later she turned up... Grin

ChickenMe · 25/02/2015 20:34

You must come back and tell us if you are right.
I'm due 04/04 but I have had 28/03 in my head since forever. No idea why but I'm currently in limbo as to whether it will be a scheduled section or not which could make sense. So if we do get that date im gonna freak out!!! It might be wishful thinking tho!!! Do we get a bit pyschic maybe in pregnancy?Confused

Gunpowder · 25/02/2015 20:54

Yeh come back and do a live birth thread! Good luck. Smile

EeekNumber4 · 25/02/2015 21:00

I knew with DD2! She was due 30th Sept but all along I had feeling she would come on 20th. So much so that I got my DH to cancel the gig he was supposed to be playing that day, just in case! And she came of the 20th :)

Ruralninja · 25/02/2015 21:03

I wanted my DD to come on a Sunday so my DH would be there, which meant coming 4 days early. She did!

GwladysFrightandthePups · 25/02/2015 21:13

I've had a feeling for years (since I was a teenager) that I would give birth on a certain date.

I did.

To a surprise baby, conceived when I was on the pill, who was two weeks late.

No idea with the next one though!

ImTakingTheEssence · 25/02/2015 21:14

I had my daughter on mothers day its as if she waited till then. I went in to labour on the friday and had her on sunday.

BananaToast · 25/02/2015 21:22

It's interesting so many of you were right. I'm due 20th April but have said for ages I think he will arrive on the 25th. Will have to wait and see!

helloelo · 25/02/2015 21:36

I was due on the 12th but when I announced it to my dad, I said it would be on the 17th as it is his birthday too. At midnight on the 17th I took a picture of my belly thinking that's it, DS was born 4hrs later. Bingo.

shutupaboutstarwars · 25/02/2015 21:39

Not a due date exactly. But was convinced that ds2 would be a September baby like his sister. Initial edd 13 th october. Scan brought that forward to 6th October. ElCS booked for 1st October. He decided that he was going to be born in the middle of the night at a weekend like the other 2. Born 27th September. And he still weighed 9lb 15....
But I was hoping that if ds1 went overdue that he would be born on our wedding anniversary at 40 + 3, he turned up at 40+6

Jcee · 25/02/2015 21:49

DD was due on Xmas day and I really didn't fancy that so decided she would be born on the 21st December.

DP thought I was deranged but it became my mantra throughout my pregnancy. I went into labour on the 20th but then had a stop start labour and had to have an emcs and DD was born in the early hours on the 22nd. So I was almost right...

yongnian · 25/02/2015 21:57

Yup. Both of them. On their due dates. Second one even more strongly as its also DHs birthday. Even made his birthday meal the day before 'just in case'. Good job too -was in no state to cook at any point the next day!! Grin

weeblueberry · 25/02/2015 22:12

I didn't have an inkling last time but this time I'm fairly confident I'm going to go four days over. It's the same as DD1 so not sure if it's just wishful thinking but its when Id be due based on my dates as opposed to the NHS ones and when I did the detailed due date calculator that was doing the rounds a few weeks ago it put me at 4 days later than EDD too. Smile

knittingirl · 26/02/2015 09:18

With my first, based on when I was pretty certain I ovulated, I thought he was due on 30 August. The 12 week scan gave me a date of 23 August. He arrived on 30 August :)

This time round, I think 17 September. I'm 11 weeks now so we'll see....
