ok, tomorrow i'll be 40 weeks (this is my first baby) and im getting more and more worried about going out incase my waters decided to flood morrisons or something lol. bit silly really, i know, but im starting to annoy myself with how much i seem to be worrying that i'll be out and about when my waters break.

so, i was just wondering...where were you when your waters broke, did you have any warning at all, and how was the situation dealt with??

cheers all

I was in bed with DS1, it's how labour started - twas a trickle.

And next to the bed in the hospital with DS2 - they went 15 minutes or a bit less before he was born - twas a gush and required galoshes for the medical staff.

In hospital both times.

DD - the midwife broke them (with that horrible implement that looks like a big crochet hook!!)

DS - while pushing

I was more worried that mine would break whilst in bed and ruin our new expensive mattress!

I felt some 'leakage' when having a wee when i was having contractions at home. Only when they went whilst lying on the hospital bed did i realise just how much water there could be! I was glad it was their bed not mine!
