Just that really! Starting to think about nursery furniture and wondered if you used one?

I am a FTM so can't say from experience whether i would or wouldn't use a chair, but we had a sofa bed in the room that is now the nursery and we just kept it in there cause friends told me if you are feeding in the night you will need somewhere to sit, and it is nice to have somewhere to sit if you are reading them a bed time story :D

Zsazsabinks · 08/02/2015 19:12

I never did because I never got round to buying one, after two children. I have a friend who had one and absolutely LOVED it.

I would say that it's by no means an essential but it might be a nice thing to have if you wanted.

TheOriginalWinkly · 08/02/2015 19:13

DD hasn't slept in her nursery once at 7 months old (ffs). I've always fed her on the sofa in the living room, or sitting or lying in my bed.

sydenhamhiller · 08/02/2015 19:14

No. Have 3 and not with any. But with DC1 I found feeding him sitting on edge of bed verrrrrrrry uncomfortable, and as in flat would take him thru to living room.
With dc2 and 3, I bought a 2nd hand Poang that lived in the room until they moved from cot --> bed: nice to have somewhere to sit and feed and read stories.
Slightly regretting selling chair to make space now I perch on toddler bed...

I did and I absolutely loved it so glad I brought it. All the night feeds where I could have somewhere comfie to sit upright and not worry about falling asleep out my feet up and massive pockets in the side to hide all the good sweets

BreeVDKamp · 08/02/2015 19:16

I have had one about a week from Mothercare and it is the comfiest thing ever!!! Baby not born yet though, it might be a bit awkward to use elbow-wise but I don't care, it is sooooo comfortable.

CheekyWeeGandT · 08/02/2015 19:17

I always fed in bed, propped up with lots of pillows.

Augustwedding · 08/02/2015 19:17

Thank you for all the quick responses! Think we will buy one!

Just an upright armchair from ikea. It's amazing. Spent about half of the last 11 months sat in it I reckon Grin

callamia · 08/02/2015 19:18

No, I use my bed. I had no space for one of those giant chairs, and they're just so 'mumsy' looking, I couldn't bear it.

Dogsmom · 08/02/2015 19:19

I didn't but I chose to bottle feed, she was in our room for 6 months so I sat on the edge of the bed, it only took 15 minutes for her to drink it so I didn't have time to be uncomfortable.

namelessposter · 08/02/2015 19:20

Yes, loved it.

barmybunting · 08/02/2015 19:20

We have one but I struggle to use it now our daughter is bigger and she is only 12 weeks, so not much use in terms of breastfeeding longer term I find. However, great for bottle feeding still and cuddles before bed.

Augustwedding · 08/02/2015 19:20

I will have a good look round ikea as an armchair might be good!

No, I had other places which were suitable. However I do remember sitting in one and thinking it was the dogs bollocks, so comfortable.

Nolim · 08/02/2015 19:21

No. I used the bed sofa etc

Yes and still use it for sitting in to read to DS who is nearly three.

Sizzlesthedog · 08/02/2015 19:24

Yes I did, but it was my grandmothers nursing chair! So comfy.

ChazzerChaser · 08/02/2015 19:28

No, I did night feeds in bed as we bed shared

Pointlessfan · 08/02/2015 19:29

I meant to get one but never got round to it and DD is nearly one now! I feed her in bed.

AbsInTheClub · 08/02/2015 19:29

Yes, and I loved it. We had this one: www.kiddicare.com/p/Kiddicare_Cloud_Nine_Deluxe_Glider_Chair_and_Stool_Marshmall.htm. I loved that I could rock, and swivel. MUCH better for me than our sofa, and though I loved nursing laying down in bed, that wasn't always practical with visitors.

DeladionInch · 08/02/2015 19:29

not specifically a nursing chair, but yes I had and used a padded rocking chair in ds's room. 4-15m for breastfeeding, 15-27m for bedtime story cuddles!

Augustwedding · 08/02/2015 19:37

We're going to have baby in with us for a while so will feed in bed for start but I like idea of chair for later. DH nan offered to buy something around general price range of the chairs so will ask her for that.

Thank you all for your help!
