Here we go, as promised...

Yes Dino, I am M2T. Not in disguise though, just got really bored of my name.

So this thread can be a record of the last half of our pregnancies. I'm going to print out the original as a nice log of the first 5 months of the pregnancy.

This is thread we'll all be posting on when we go into labour!! I'm all excited now.

33 weeks today!! Woooohooooo!

Don't know about any other birthing herbs, but I have my Raspberry Leaf Tea to start drinking in 3 wks time (O...M...G!). Seemed to work for me last time, so I'm not going to tempt fate by NOT drinking it this time.

I also have my birthing ball to bounce on whilst watching TV to get that cervix ripened.... and I'm starting Aquanatal classes a week on Wednesday. SOMETHING has got to work!

So SK, your real name is Mr Kipling .
Boy in here too, so evening up the numbers a bit.
Glad it's Friday, and a bit cooler here.

sponge · 23/06/2004 12:37

Toothache, I thought I might take the curry and a shag approach .
Much more pleasurable than raspberry leaf tea which from memory tastes like boiled up garden waste!

Toothache · 23/06/2004 12:43

Sponge..... eurgh..... that would involve touching DH! Such a messy business. I thought about pouncing on him last night, but then the baby started hitting me with pelters right on my ribs and I thought "how distracting would THAT be at a crucial moment!"... so fell asleep instead. Where has my passion gone?

OP posts:
sweetkitty · 23/06/2004 13:05

Passion, what's passion again? Takes me all my time to roll over in bed nevermind anything else. Glad there's some boys in here I love Sam and Max as well, I would probably opt for Sam (sorry Sibble)my granpa was called Sam and he was a lovely man.

Cooled down a lot here today even had a bit of rain ( how sad is that I'm happy it's cooler and raining.

I'm going for the RLT tablets from Holland and Barratt I think.

Love the name Ava, it was my first choice but our surname does not match!!! We are now going for Evie and Joe or Tom.
I am on maternity leave now - hurrah!!!!

sponge · 26/06/2004 14:07

Evie's really cute - I like that. I also like simple boy's names like Joe, Sam, Max, Tom etc but all out mates have taken them already .

Dino, same for us - we are moving dd into a new room and hers is to become the nursery (in due course). She's chuffed to bits tho as she gets a bigger room, bunk beds so her friends can stay and her own choice of pink/yellow colour scheme - nice .
We will have to redecorate the nursery room at some stage as it is very pink and flowery, new arrival is a boy and the room is going to have to double up as a study.

Feeling quite bog ans heavy this morning. Lucky old you Littlerach - I've still got 6 weeks to work .

sponge · 26/06/2004 14:08

That'll be "big and heavy".

muriwai · 26/06/2004 14:21

Hi everyone, 34 weeks today and feeling a bit tired this morning too, but only 8 more days of work so at least the end is in sight. Didn't have a chance to get much rest over the weekend so that's probably why I'm feeling so crap today.
Went to a BBQ yesterday where there were 6 kids between the ages of 2 and 10, all stuck inside because of the pouring rain and I really started thinking OMG what have I done . Bit late now, I know...

SpringChicken · 26/06/2004 14:47

That'll be 2 Evie's on the July thread then as that is the name DP and I have chosen for a girl too

Morning all 33+5 today feeling better since the weather has clamed down a bit. 15 more days of work to go, my replacement started today so got 3 weeks training her up (feel so sorry for her).

Will have to update the due date board we've got new members . Spent the weekend reorganising the cupboards, throwing out loads of junk so the baby can have her own shelves. She's not got her own room which I kind of feel sad about but we will be moving in 6 months so kept the spare room as it is. All the little blankets etc cheered me up a bit though .

sponge · 26/06/2004 14:57

Muriwai I had a "what have I done" moment yesterday as well. Dd woke up crying with a nightmare at about 3am (she's been doing this quite a bit recently) and I had to go and lie with her until she went back to sleep. As if I'm not tired enough. And I started thinking that I would be up like that every night soon, and possibly with the two of them at different times - aaarrrrgggh. The little beggar had better be very cute and make it all worthwhile or I'm sending him back .

Pennies · 26/06/2004 15:57

Hello everyone. Sorry, introduced myself last week then shut up completely! Very rude of me.

Am tipping the balance back towards DD's today because that's what we're expecting. Looks like she'll be called Lucy or Emily.

Feeling sooooo cold!! I read in the books about how warm you feel when PG, and for me its been the opposite. I've been bloomin' freezing and was loving last week's hot weather, and am considering getting out my skiing socks on to help warm me up!

Got antenatal appointment this PM - hate them so much. Will get a lecture about being anaemic and will be told to eat my greens and have a roast dinner.

Hope everyone else is OK.

muriwai · 26/06/2004 17:41

Pennies I certainly haven't had that problem - too hot if anything but that's mostly at night when I'm just generally uncomfortable. And no anaemia either - fingers crossed it's all been pretty smooth sailing for me - that is, once I got over the four-and-a-half months of hideous morning sickness .

At least you get to hear the heartbeat - that always makes me feel better - no matter what the midwife has to say!

I'm a lot warmer than normal. Not had many worries being pregnant no morning sickness just mild SPD from 16 weeks. To be honest I've not felt this well in ages must be all the hormones.

sponge · 26/06/2004 19:19

I'm in the warmer camp. Normally I'm always cold but whilst pregnant I'm toasty warm through to sweaty heap (depending on weather) all the time.
Apart from being really uncomfortable most of the time I feel quite well at the moment, but I do eat my greens and had a roast dinner last night!
Have started an Actimel-a-day regime now, having read that these probiotic things can reduce your child's likelihood of allergies.

Yes, I think the brain turned to mush some time ago but might still be hope for the newborn.
Actimel tasted just like runny yoghurt I thought. Much less disgusting than I was expecting.

sweetkitty · 27/06/2004 00:33

I've got feet under ribs now.

Strawberry and new Pineapple Actimel tastes better although I was reading that they are a con and have no benefit whatsoever as the bacteria are killed by stomach acid. No harm in giving it a go though.

Toothache · 27/06/2004 10:53

Morning All,
I was off work yesterday with a spotty DS.... we think Hand, Foot & Mouth..... or perhaps Chicken Pox, although we thought he had that 3 wks ago!!!! He had blisters in his mouth, on his hands and feet.... however he also had angry blisters on his knees (!!)... like 20-30 spots per knee....and all over his bum. They are all drying up and scabbing now and he's back to his old self.
I'm 33+4 today. And I finish work a week today.
We had a bit of a shakey moment yesterday, I had terrible back ache (Dull cramping pain) that came and went. It lasted for a good couple of hours and sometimes was so bad I couldn't get words out! I took some co-codamol and lay down in bed beside ds. It disappeared and now I just have a mild aching. Ds's was a backache labour and started exactly like that. So we were on edge last night, but I feel much better today.

Nesting instinct is getting ridiculous now.... I even cleaned the fridge yesterday!

OP posts:
sponge · 27/06/2004 12:32

Hopefully chicken pox. Good to get that one out of the way as early as possible.

I had the hormonal haircut yesterday - went from long, slightly choppy mess to quite short bob. Dh and dd both say they like it though (in fact I went at all because dh told me my hair was a mess - bless him!).

sweetkitty · 27/06/2004 12:38

So sorry to hear about your DS toothache hope he's better soon.

You must have been so scared about your backache I know we keep on about these babies coming a bit early but it's still too early for them. 37 weeks is fine .

Our fridge and freezer were so bad last week DP cleaned them out (first for everything).
