Hi Ladies

As a busy working pregnant woman I am looking to get some inspiration from what you're all all eating throughout the day at work. I am trying to stay healthy but complete hunger often leads me astray into empty carbs. Also I find it hard to find interesting varied lunches so hoping to get some inspiration here. Today I have eaten

Breakfast - chocolate croissant
Mid morning - Pret fruit salad
Lunch - Eat Mozzarella and Tomato toastie, yoghurt, banana and grape nut pot

A butternut squash risotto is planned for tonight. Should I get the energy up to make it Grin

tuffgingernut · 04/02/2015 18:10

Today I've had:
2 choc chip weetabix for brekky number 1. pre 2 mile school waddle.

Brekky number 2 was wholemeal toast with peanut butter. Can't get enough of this.

Cheese salad sandwich, soup and crisp for lunch.

Dinner is on the go and it's fish, spuds and loads of veg.

May have some crumpets before bed.

Have a massive craving for ice cream but am supposed to be on a low sugar diet. Angry

BreeVDKamp · 04/02/2015 18:14

2 pieces fudge Blush
2x potato cakes with marmite

Lettuce, cucumber and salad cream sandwich on seedy bread
A couple of pecans

Handful choc drops

But I have since decided I don't eat between, so tomorrow will be better.

Scrambled eggs on toast for tea I think, and fruit, if I can choke anything down! Raging heartburn and squashed small stomach (already!! Only 26 weeks, waaah).

BreeVDKamp · 04/02/2015 18:16

I woke up burping and it's never stopped, unless I eat every 1.5 hours ! porridge for breakfast
half a croque monsieur and some butternut squash for lunch 1
slice of pizza for lunch 2 (I am admiring my self restraint on only having 1 piece..Blush)
crackers and a ginger nut as snacks
veg curry for tea

MissTwister · 05/02/2015 19:56

Today has not been so bad - maybe because I keep feeling sick when I eat even though I am 15 weeks now!

Yogurt with berry compote and granola
Slice toast with marg and jam
1/2 egg and tomato sandwich
1/2 cheddar sandwich
Coconut pot (yuck, made me feel sick for hours!)
Mushroom risotto ready meal

On a normal day I eat:

Cereal breakfast with a large glass of fruit juice (partially watered down) 7am

Second breakfast (most days at mo!) which is X2 toast at work (prob 2hrs since main breakfast). 9.30am

Mid morn snacks (everyday in lunch bag)= Apple, oranges (x2 satsumas), banana, grapes, snack bar (cereal bar, or small lunchbox choc bar thing). Anytime I'm hungry!

Coffee x3 max in morn (decaf, milky).

Sandwich, crisps, yogurt for lunch. 12.30 to 1ish

Often several biscuits with cuppa teas (1 or 2 throughout afternoon) etc. Anytime!

Main dinner, meat or fish, potatoes/rice/pasta and plenty of veg. Always home cooked. 7pm

Squash drinks. But also partial to a can of pop!

If I get hungry later at night. I've been having peach slices n yogurt at 9pm ish again!

Water by bed for thirst / night.

Now that does sound a lot but all the fruit is normal lunch bag for me (&hubby). It's the toast and work biscuits (we have a tea club which inc a biscuit tin!) and evening nibbles which are extras when hungry!!

I'm 17weeks, had no morning sickness at all (v lucky) and since about 12weeks been eating like a Trojan! Only put on 3lb between booking apt at 8 weeks to today, so my body is obv using all the food to do the baby growing! 3lb in 9 weeks is ok isn't it?

MissTwister · 05/02/2015 21:33

I've no idea - my MW hasn't said anything about weight at all!!

OP posts:
MrsFbabyNo1 · 05/02/2015 21:39

Well my booking was early December and it's now early Feb, so my unprofessional opinion is what with xmas/new year/winter (reduced exercise - I'm a keen gardener) then I'm not too bothered bout 3lb in that time period! In fact I normally put on a touch of "winter weight", that's that's without ever being preggo! Wink Grin

gaggiagirl · 05/02/2015 21:42

mrsF that is good! Is that all you have gained in your pregnancy? Or did you gain before your booking in appt? Either way I think that's good.

I've eaten more today than usual.

Breakfast. Never
Lunch. Chicken pieces, multigrain crackers, banana with fat free yogurt.
Tea. Weight watchers meal with spinach and mushrooms.
Snacks. Bag of crisps and hot chocolate.

Breakfast: porridge with honey and decaf tea
Snacks: bit of a tray bake cakes, few mini eggs, fudge bar!
Lunch : jacket potato, beans, cheese, lettuce and cucumber, grapes
Snack: slice of cake (work friends birthday cake)
Dinner: ham on toast, Sunbite crisps, wagon wheel
.....ok today has been a carb and sugar fest it would appear....

BalancingStick · 05/02/2015 22:32

Scrambled egg on toast with sun-dried tomatoes, teriyaki salmon bento box, slice of homemade carrot cake, slice of rye bread with humous, salad of mixed leaves with feta, beetroot, tomatoes, broccoli and a creamy dressing, handful of chocolate buttons.

MissTwister · 06/02/2015 10:52

I have to admit after my healthy day yesterday I ended it with a small tub of green and blacks ice-cream in bed!

I don't know if I am meant to put on weight, I am 15 weeks and haven't really put on anything but have been eating like a pig, and not particularly healthily esp for first trimester. However my BMI was 33 at 7 weeks so I am overweight so know I am not meant to put on as much. I think 11 pounds overall.

Today I started with a pain au raisin....

14 weeks here.
Breakfast: 2 slices toast with vegemite
Mid morning - yogurt and apple
Lunch - grilled vegetable wrap and chocolate milkshake
Mid afternoon - Massive piece of cheese
Dinner - Chicken Stir fry.

Weirdly I have gone off chocolate but LOVE chocolate milk! I have never really been a snacker but can't go more than an hour or two without eating in the morning now. On three days this week I have had two lunches, one at 11 and then another at about 1.

I have also become weirdly sensitive to sugar. So white bread rolls taste of sugar and peanut butter tastes completely of sugar to the point where I can't swallow it. I used to be able to eat peanut butter out of the jar!

PrincessOfChina · 06/02/2015 12:27

This is interesting as my appetite has really ramped up in the last couple of weeks. I'm 32 weeks.

Today I've had/will have

2 x Toast and Lurpak
Roasted Tomato Soup
3 Pumpkin Seed Ryvita
Grated Cheese
Banana
Apple
Prawn, tomato and feta bake for dinner with garlic bread and salad
Ice Cream

I suspect I'll also throw in a couple more snacks into there - maybe raspberries/blueberries but more likely a chocolate bar!

I've only put on 5 kilo this pregnancy which is showing me how overweight I was beforehand. I'm probably consuming less calories now, with giving up the booze.

MissTwister · 06/02/2015 12:36

Yes I think am saving 4000 calories a week in wine!

OP posts:
fattymcfatfat · 06/02/2015 12:39

ive had 3 bags of crisps today, and two frijj milkshakes. .
I was a fatty when I got pg at 11 stone, I weighed 13 at booking! im now 16 weeks and scared to weigh myself. I dont even eat that much! I think its just that what i do eat is oure crap! (except my tea, always have a healthy home cooked tea as I eat that with my kids! )

MrsFbabyNo1 · 06/02/2015 17:01

Gaggiagirl, I'm not totally sure what I was before finding out I was pregnant. So I'm gonna use my 8wk booking weight as my baseline as that's the only definite weighing I've got.

We went on hols in first two weeks of sept and do think I put a bit of weight on then. But can't for life of me remember what I weighed when we got back. Lmp was 9th oct, we had bfp on 4th nov (so in between those dates shouldn't actually gain any baby weight as its all just period and cells then for those 4 weeks). Then booking was 8th dec.

I've got the "what to expect" app and have been taking weekly belly pics and at 17wks it's mad to see the difference to my first 5wks belly pic. But all good as that just means baby growing n belly expanding!

I'm not bothered about weight gain and will keep on eating what I want! Was worried being a "sugar addict" bout it affecting my GD risk though. Writing as eating mini pack of love hearts, a lollipop and can of coke! But a poster in another thread reassured me on that one. Phew.

MissTwister · 06/02/2015 18:10

My day today was rather fancy!

Pain au raisin
Fruisli bar
lobster and chips
Rhubarb tart

Although I think I might have pizza for dinner.....

NaughtyDoggie · 06/02/2015 18:17

some of you are doing really well. i really need to try and eat better. crisps and chocolate are my down fall, and dH doesn't help as he keeps buying it!

Today I've had:
breakfast: bowl of oat granola cereal with a banana.

lunch: cold left over pasta bake from last night (a much bigger portion than was absolutely necessary!) plus crackers and hummus and bits of melon & apple.

snack: 2x space radar crisps (my craving) plus hand full of winegums (gave me a headache)

dinner: ready meal curry with a the extras plus chocolate brownie dessert.

drinks: water and decaf coffee (x2) in the day. Should be drinking more water really. Plus will have a glass of diet coke in eve.

I'm trying hard to eat fewer crisps. I wouldn't dream of eating so many when not pregnant and don't usually buy the multi packs but I can't resist. I had 5 yesterday! Shock I'm going to eat them down and never buy them again .....

NaughtyDoggie · 06/02/2015 18:18

Ha that wasn't supposed to sound like some of you are doing well. .. and some of you not!Grin
17 weeks btw

worriedmum100 · 06/02/2015 19:56

7 weeks here and can mostly tolerate only plain carbs, plain protein, cheddar, fizzy drinks (which I never usually have) and fizzy sweets.

I have to eat little and often to stave off the nausea. I muched my way through a
family sized bag of salted pretzels at work yesterday. I also crave citrus so have drunk my body weight in San Peligrino lemonade

today I've had:

Breakfast: 2 × wholemeal toast one with marmite one with peanut butter. Tried a decaf coffee but went off it

Lunch: A ham and cheese panini, salt and vinegar crisps, fizzy water

Snacks: another packet salt and vinegar crisps, 4 oatcakes, 2 baby bel, mini ice cream cone.

Dinner: pasta, cheese and ham. will try and eat an avacado with it.
