BFP then BFN

Last Friday at 8/9DPO ( very very early and stupid i know) I woke up feeling 'odd' and was compelled to POAS. I used FMU and the result was a feint but clear BFP. The line showed up within about 3-4 minutes and before the test had dried. I did another with SMU and I got an extremely feint, almost invisible BFP.

On Sunday I tested with FRER-FMU and got a BFN.
I bought some more tests for tomorrow but I'm not hopeful.

What has happened? Could my urine just have been more concentrated on Friday? Could it be a chemical pregnancy? I'm so confused Sad I'm such a dick for testing to early.

Just a poundland cheapie. First vue i think it's called. I've used them many many times before and have never had an evaporation line or any kind of false positive, hence the confusion.

They are 20ml sensitivity. FRER are 10ml I think. So really if i am pregnant the FRER should have been the BFP not the cheapie.

It's not looking good is it? Sad

i ha a cheap test once missed it with my wee dipped it in the loo and got a bfp. 30mins sat in a restaurant crapping myself looked again and the second line had dissapeared Hmm

do u av pics? maybe post them for advice. they do sy a line is a line tho altho i do think thats very early to test. i am ttc at mo and it says implantation usually occurs around 9 dpo.

worth a test in the morning i reckon.

Hiya, nothing helpful to add but I didn't want to leave it unanswered. 8dpo is very early so maybe it was an evap :( good luck for tomorrow though, when are you actually due on? I hope you get your BFP Flowers

I posted a picture on my old antenatal thread and the feb bus and they also saw the line.

I know it was early. I was expecting a BFN. It really shocked me to see a BFP. I just felt the need to test. I'm an idiot.

It sounds like the test was faulty or possibly a chemical pregnancy. Am sorry Flowers

The clear BFP and the feint BFP were to different brands. I doubt it was a false positive so it was more than likely a chemical pregnancy.

I will just add that to my ever growing list of unsuccessful pregnancies.

TTC fucking sucks.

dont write it off yet sarky. even if it was a chemical would it show then not show that quickly?do u bleed with a chemical?

maybe u ovulated earlier than you think. will kp my fingers crossed.

i tested yesterdy at 8dpo and got bfn.

when is af due sarky? i would hold off till day after due if it doesnt come then test again. hope u r ok.

Either Wednesday or Thursday. I don't think I will test, There is no point. Its now four days after my BFP. If then pregnancy was viable I would be receiving BFP's for sure now.

I'm okay just really disappointed. I do wish my body wouldn't keep failing me.

I got my first BFP this time on a clearblue - Internet cheapies and first response didn't show until a week later. I've also had a MMC and a chemical, so I was very "glass half empty" but I'm currently 27wks. I would leave it until Friday when you're actually late and see how it goes Thanks

maybe i future sarky wait till af or after its easy to build hopes up but at least if u wait till then u will have a better idea if af doesnt come.

I know ginger I'm really kicking myself. I am the first person to tell others to wait until AF is late before testing, it will only hurt you etc etc. I just can't seem to take my own advice.

still wouldnt count yourself out just yet see what happens with af. are you having any af or pg symptoms?

i cant talk i tested 8dpo luckily i got bfn so can still hope for a few days! this ttc lark is so hard. hope ur ok.

Hmm. On closer inspection the BFN looks like it might have the slightest hint of a line. I'm not holding my breath though. The first BFP I had was clear there was no mistaking it and that was four days ago.

Sarky - what time did you do the FRER? was it first pee of the day?

My first one was incredibly faint, the one the next morning was much stronger.

I had a chemical pregnancy. I got a faint BFP, then got AF and a BFN. Try to take a deep breath, wait and test again.
When I was pregnant with DS, I tested negative even with one of those uber-sensitive tests right up to the day before AF was due and then got a really really faint line. We're celebrating his 7th birthday on Friday, so I'm pretty sure he's real.
Good luck...nature plays such mean tricks on us x

i wasnt pregnant that time was last year i dont know what made the second line come but it wasnt my hormones ha! unless it was a chemical in which case i dont suppose i would know.

Friday-
Cheap test FMU: BFP
Cheap test SMU (diff brand): very feint almost invisible BFP

Saturday:

FRER evening: BFN

Sunday:

FRER FMU: BFN

Monday: cheapie SMU: BFN

today FMU: can almost see a line if I shine a light through the back.

Period is due either tomorrow or Thursday. Other than feeling grumpy I have no PMS. I do have a digi to take if AF doesn't show.
