History is carried dd at 40+4
Carried DS to 32+6 before my waters went and I gave birth to him at 33+4.

I'm now 32+2 with dd2.

I've never had braxton hicks before. I've felt unwell all day with high back pain (kidney sort of areas, high up to either side). Have been soaking in the bath for an hour and my bump keeps going rock hard and I'm getting lots of pain. But feels more like muscle pain around bump than the period pain type of contractions that I had with dd and ds.

It's almost squeezing my bladder and really hurting.

And baby hasn't moved for a few hours, though was kicking like made this morning.

I'm just being stupid aren't I. It's all fine.

And drama llamas are drunks who lie in the middle of the road so they get picked up by an ambulance or people who go to A&E with a minor condition they've had for weeks.

A pregnant woman experiencing reduced movement who calls her hospital is sensible.

Gunpowder · 30/01/2015 21:56

Glad you're there. Hope the baby is just being lazy. Smile

fattymcfatfat · 30/01/2015 22:00

Very smart of you driving your dhs car haha. And very smartbof you getting seen! Is your hospital another that keeps you waiting for ages before a mw fresh out of uni comes to have a look at you, only to have to go get someone more senior as they dont know what the bloody hell they are doing?

hazel88 · 30/01/2015 22:07

Hope all goes well Thanks

monkeyfacegrace · 30/01/2015 22:10

My hospital is fab. Literally can't fault the care. And it's quieter here than at home, my older two are having a 'disco' in dds bedroom!

I think I just felt her move. I'm going to look like such an idiot Blush

OP posts:
Izzy24 · 30/01/2015 22:14

No, you won't look like an idiot.

You've made the right decision!

pintofmilk · 30/01/2015 22:14

monkey you are NOT going to look like an idiot.

I have been in twice in the last week as baby was quite for 24 hours. As soon as the Midwife put her hand on my stomach the little bugger kicked her, TWICE!!

That is what the hospital is there for. Good luck

Gileswithachainsaw · 30/01/2015 22:14

No your not!!!! babies do like to trick us. but changes in movement should always be checked out.

no one will call you an idiot for doing so. and you shouldn't think. Of yourself as one either.

A false alarm is good. It's the outcome you and the hospital staff want. don't give it a second thought it was/is exactly the right thing to do

hazel88 · 30/01/2015 22:15

Don't be so silly!! You're perfectly entitled to be there and surely the health of your child is more important than looking 'silly'? Yes. So stop worrying and start trying to relax. its ALWAYS better to be safe than sorry.

fattymcfatfat · 30/01/2015 22:17

Definitely not an idiot! Ive only had the one bad experience when I was having dd but still like to moan about it lol. ...and my dd did this she didnt move for ages, went in and she started having a party as soon as I was hooked up to the machine! They didnt treat me like an idiot just told me I had dobe the right thing and to go back if it happened again!

monkeyfacegrace · 30/01/2015 22:21

Right I'm on the monitor. Heartbeat is there nicely. But I'm measuring 40 weeks Shock

I'm only 32+2. And her head is engaged. Sigh.

Jodie1982 · 30/01/2015 22:49

Hope everything is okay OP. Fingers crossed little lady behaves n stays put! Cake Flowers

lia66 · 30/01/2015 23:00

Monkey, engaged for subsequent babies doesn't really mean anything. Babies can pop in and out.

You may have been a bit dehydrated, that can cause irritable uterus. Possibly a uti also.

Oh and a VE ( vaginal exam ) may show some dilation as again, cervix can be minimally open ( 1-2cms ish ) after subsequent babies.

Hopefully baby will stay put for a while longer. Enjoy your McDonalds.

monkeyfacegrace · 30/01/2015 23:34

monkeyfacegrace · 31/01/2015 02:16

Ugh I'm being poked and prodded to death.

Had drugs to slow it down but my blood pressure has crashed.

I'm scared.

Jodie1982 · 31/01/2015 02:20

Oh my god! You poor love. :(
Is baby doing okay? I hope they slow it down for you.

I don't know what to say, how scary it must be for you though. Try n rest. Easier said than done though in a noisy hospital. :(
