packing my bag for stay in hospital after ELCS. DH will be up everyday and can bring extras if needed but I just feel like I'm forgetting something.

I've got for me.

2 nursing bras
8 breast pads
1 pack of pads (another left out for DH to bring)
2 pairs of big knickers
towel,
flannel,
flip flops and slippers
toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrush, shower gel, shampoo, hair brush, bobbles and a headband)
deodorant
1 nightie.
1 pair of pj's
socks

for baby I have
6 vests
6 babygrows
2 cardigans
2 hats
2 scratch mittens
2 socks
10 bibs
cotton wool
wet wipes
nappies
2 sma starter kits (6x 100ml bottles ready to use) and another 2 at home that DH can bring if necessary.
A blanket
2x dummies (will be put in the night before in a sterilised container)

have I forgot anything? is there anything else you think will be useful?

The car seat with a jacket and hat are all together for DH to bring up when we can go home.

A book or magazine to read whilst you're waiting for your surgery- that wait is really long.

More than two pairs of knickers for you. You might be in longer than expected/ you might have a pad mishap... Trust me you'd rather have spares

Clothes to go home in/wear for visitors if you're feeling up to it.

Muslins

Snacks for you- hospital food is often grim and you need to eat if you're going to give BF a go (sorry not clear from your post if you are or not, no judgement here)

Before I had my so I found it handy to pack an extra bag with more pads etc and left it in the car as didn't know how long Id be in for, as it turned out I had an emcs so needed the extra stuff but it was handy to have it to ha feather than getting DH to search for stuff.

Only thing I would say about your list is maybe pack more than 8 breast pads?

lottie I will have my phone so ill just stay on that I can play games and read news or whatever with that. good idea though. I'll put 2 more pairs of knickers in now. my going home outfit is in the car seat with the stuff to go home (sorry meet to say that in the post) the only visitors ill have are DH DC MIL FIL and my dear old grandad and I'm not bothered if they see me in my pj's.
when I do food shopping this weekend I'll get snacks that's a great idea, what kind of things though

hello I was thinking about doing a second bag to make life easier plus means less worry that DH will get the wrong things.

Food :-) hospital food can be a bit disappointing.

More knickers and pads. It's always better to be prepared.

More than one towel. You may need to stand on one in the bathroom, there are no non slip mats or anything at my hospital. And if you're there longer than you think, you might have more than one shower and towels can get bloody. Consider dark towels and clothing too. It hides the blood very well.

Some women get sore breasts in the early stages of pregnancy. They can be tender to touch/generally just sore. If you are late for your period then I pregnancy test would normally be pretty accurate so it's likely that you're not pregnant. I would suggest waiting a couple of days then taking another test.

A sports-cap bottle of water and/or some straws - gas and air can really dry your throat and depending on what position you're in drinking from a glass might not be easy.

Phone charger. And what size are your big knickers compared with your normal size? I only ask as I really puffed up with water retention after my first elcs and had brought big pants in my normal size - ended up cutting the elastic on them as they rolled down onto my scar. This time I've bought 2 sizes bigger.

DH will being me a towel everyday so no need to take more than 1 I have flip flops to wear in the shower so I don't fall / have to walk on the floor. I've put extra breast pads and such in a bag for DH to keep in the car.

The knickers I've got are 2 sizes bigger than my normal. I had a EMCS with DD and I remember the issue with bloating.

Also I won't need my charger as I have my charging brick which gives me 5 full battery charges from it

Oh and I have my brita fill and go. so ill take that as I prefer filtered water anyway.

Honestly PP, this is about hospital stay post baby. Who wants to be thinking about exercise and beauty - I sure as hell did not.

Re the ACTUAL question - food! I was so hungry and found myself eating cereal bars in the middle of the night. Take plenty, esp if you're going to breast feed.

It was £30 but so worth it. It takes around 15 - 18 hours to charge but again worth the wait.

if you have a chance i would get hold of lactulose and peppermint tea or oil. favourite chocolate and body moisturiser (for pampering during boring times) and a dressing gown (to cover your back when still in backless theatre gowns and you have to shuffle off for breakfast). If you haven't had a cs before Get GIGANTIC pants as you want the elastic to be up past your belly button not slipping down and resting on the scar.

Earplugs? I was on a 4-bed bay for 5 nights and there was a snorer!!!!

plus one hospital i was in was disgusting in the shower so i didn't want to go barefoot but had surgical stockings so flip flops (with toe posts) were tricky crocs or pool sliders are better imo.

I hope I'm not painting too attractive a picture of my post baby days.
