Tell me this is some sort of false shit line please? I have been having regular periods, my last was around the 11th, but I've been slowly putting on weight around my stomach but I thought it must be because of christmas binging.

Anyway on Friday night I had a horrific pain in my stomach and it's all massive and bloated, I posted here about it and people asked if it was possible I could be pregnant and I said no.

I went to the emergency doctor who also asked this and I said no. I'm on the mini pill but do throw up a lot, but we don't DTD that often and we haven't been caught in over 3 years of being together so I just thought it must be fine.

But being a paranoid human I went and bought a cheap test from savers today 'clear and simple' and have just taken the test and thought it was fine but I looked closer and I saw this faint line. It appeared after 2 minutes.

It's very faint. Tell me theres other explanations for this? Please?

Oh bollocks. Can you see a line?

Hurricane I had a lot of pain in two normal pregnancies am not really sure why. I think they should have still scanned you.
Hope you get positive news Friday. Flowers

slithytove · 26/01/2015 23:58

Any chance you have trapped wind? I did in my last pregnancy and it was worse than labour. Agony to move, felt bunged up, agony to touch.

I took fybogel and got DH to very gently massage my stomach like you would a baby.

many enormous trumps later and I felt better

But it was agonising.

Congratulations on baby, I hope it all turns out as you want. I've read past threads and seen what a strong, terrific mum you are. This baby will only enhance that x

Tranquilitybaby · 26/01/2015 23:59

Hi I coukdnt read and run. Please, please keep an eye on the pain. If it gets worse on one side or you get shoulder top pain, go straight to A&E.

I had a period in April last year that dragged on with spotting for 10 days. For some reason I did a test and it was faintly positive. I had dull left sided aches that after 5 days increased to a lot of pain. I was scanned and a rupturing ectopic diagnosed. I was in surgery straight away. Hopefully it's not the same for you, but I'd hate for anyone else to go through it not knowing about the possibility. Take care.

Hurr1cane · 27/01/2015 00:31

Thanks. I am constipated. Not hungry at all, I feel like all my food is just sitting on top of my stomach and not moving Confused

The waiting sounds standard procedure actually chipping. With my ectopic, my hcg was 3000, i was nearly 8 weeks pregnant, on scan there was nothing in my uterus but lots of fluid where there shouldn't have been, but they still waited 48 hours for another blood test to confirm. They admitted me for the wait, but then they would have done that here too if op wasn't v close to hospital. Only when it was clear my bloods were not rising as they should did they rush me in for surgery. At 240, the hcg is too low to see anything, so a scan probably wouldn't tell them a great deal, and they are not going to risk surgery on a viable pregnancy.

Good luck op, it is beyond miserable being in limbo like this.

Hurr1cane · 27/01/2015 04:27

I think the swelling has gone down a bit

passthewineplz · 27/01/2015 05:38

Hope you're ok hun. Are you the lady who most of us advised to go to A&E at the weekend, but couldn't because of childcare issues with your ds and your ex had to get a relative to help out?

anyway regardless I hope you're ok. Re the scan, the drs are right they can't scan as they simply wouldn't see anything as its too small. If it's a failing pregnancy your hormones won't increase, if it's expotic they can increase but they'd need to do a laparoscopy to see if it's in your tubes if they cant see it.

I've had a laparoscopy as they thought I was having an ectopic. But I had something totally different wrong with me.....

When I was pregnant with my dd who's 4 now, I bled around 6 weeks and thought I'd lost her and had to have an internal scan, I also had another bleed around 12 weeks which lasted weeks - bleeding is fairly common for some women. There's a number of reasons why it can happen, so please try not to worry.

Re your psin - have they checked your urine to see if you've got a urine infection or anything? x

Hurr1cane · 27/01/2015 05:39

I don't know if they've checked my urine. I was pretty out of it when I was there to be honest.

Yes I'm the one that everyone told to go to A&E but went to out of hours instead.

OP one of the markers for ectopic is jumping in pain when they push in your cervix. Please watch your symptoms closely and go straight to hospital if you feel more unwell. I had so much fluid in my abdomen that I couldn't even sit down without feeling like I had a poker up my bum.

I hope you're feeling better today. Flowers

zoemaguire · 27/01/2015 08:32

Also, the peak of my pain was 4 or so days before I went to hospital. Stupidly, though I was in so much pain I could barely stand, I waited until the bleeding started to get checked out! So though I also hope you are feeling better, don't use pain as a gauge of how things are going:(

Hurr1cane · 27/01/2015 08:45

Sad I did jump in pain and I was on morphine.

I just wish I knew. I don't know how to feel.

OP posts:
Hurr1cane · 27/01/2015 08:53

Is the shoulder tip pain really painful? I'm worrying over every twinge. DP has taken DS to school and left me on the sofa.

OP posts:
Hurr1cane · 27/01/2015 08:55

If I lose it I won't even have any right to be sad will I because I didn't even plan for it

OP posts:
5madthings · 27/01/2015 09:04

Ofcourse you will have a right to feel sad, a.loss is a loss, planned pregnancy or not. From the moment you know.you are pregnant you start to mentally make plans or imagine what the future holds etc. Hell I even start thinking names etc.

Rest up and keep talking here, I will keep my.fingers crossed for you xx

Number3cometome · 27/01/2015 09:08

OP did they give you morphine at the EPAU or the walk in centre?

Wasn't they cautious about giving you that as you are pregnant?

Hurr1cane · 27/01/2015 09:16

They gave me morphine at A&E. They said it would be fine and offered me more afterwards but I refused it because I'm worried about hurting it if it is growing in the right place. I asked about my other medication to and they didn't seem bothered but when I looked online it said that you shouldn't take it, so I think they've just decided that it doesn't really matter anymore.

OP posts:
Number3cometome · 27/01/2015 09:26

Oh no, they wouldn't have decided that, their job is to preserve life, and TBH, there is nothing at the moment which solidly indicates it is ectopic otherwise they would have done a laparoscopy.
This could be something totally unrelated, baby may be absolutely fine!
Stay positive OP Smile
I'm just very surprised they gave you morphine when pregnant, I have a spinal fusion and I know no matter how much agony I have been in, nothing more than co-codamol is ever offered. Was this before they tested you? If so I can see why they gave it to you.
Did you go to EPAU?

InanimateCarbonRod · 27/01/2015 09:28

OP I'm no doctor but having been through this before your symptoms sound exactly like mine. When the doctor in the EPU Emergency room did the internal I screamed in pain and I nearly passed out. The doc said that it's one of the biggest indicators combined with abdominal pain.

I really really hope it's not and that everything is ok for you.

You have every right to feel sad. It's a loss whether it's something that was planned/unplanned. It's your right.

SueV14 · 27/01/2015 09:30

Hurr1cane, I've been watching your thread and first of all, a big hug to you. It's a very difficult time you're going through and not knowing what's going on is the worst thing ever. But hang in there.

I was wondering whereabouts you are? I know that NHS even though very good may sometimes be slow, not thorough enough and they don't like to double/triple check things cause they follow certain protocols. Have you considered going for a private scan? If you are in London you could get a viability scan for £100 at the Fetal Medicine Centre and they can see the yolk sac as early as 5 weeks if it is in the right place (they did see mine!) I know it's still a lot of money but this is the "cheapest" place I know of and they have amazing doctors and top notch technology over there.

If you're not in L maybe still worth considering going for a private scan to get a peace of mind. I had no pain whatsoever with my ectopic, only light bleeds and NHS couldn't see anything on a scan, just took blood and said to come back in a weeks time. And obviously to watch out for painful symptoms. But I couldn't bear the thought of sitting there and waiting risking my tube to rupture so went private and they found it right away in my left tube. Luckily it was already "dead" and it got re-absorbed by the body so I didn't need surgery or medication. But at least I knew what's going on.

hrpufnstuf · 27/01/2015 09:31

oh lovely this is so hard for you Flowers they won't be worrying about the other medication because it may well not be a problem to take it - lots of medication is described as "not to be taken in pregnancy" just to cover the manufacturer when actually there is no risk to it at all. I was told this by a specialist midwife when I had a scare in early pregnancy and I was taking all sorts of stuff. Also as they are observing you they won't want to change anything so that they can find out what's happening as soon as possible - if there was something you are taking that was a real no-no they would have said to come off it, they wouldn't be taking any risks.

I know you must feel desperate, but try not to add on more stress about why the hospital is doing/not doing some things. They want the best outcome for you too, so they will be doing everything in their power to make that happen.

xx

Hurr1cane · 27/01/2015 09:35

No it was after they tested me. What does shoulder pain feel like?

OP posts:
Hurr1cane · 27/01/2015 09:39

I kept asking her if it could be something else and she kept saying that I jumped off the bed when she did the internal exam thing where she pressed inside and outside me together.

I just don't know. I want to go to sleep until tomorrow when I'll have a better idea.

I could really do with a smoke but I don't want to in case it is healthy, so I'm just lying on the sofa.

OP posts:
GoldfishSpy · 27/01/2015 10:01

Hurricane, for me it felt like I couldn't take a deep breath. Agony in my back at the back of my shoulder blade. Almost like you have pulled a muscle in your back. I couldn't find a comfy way to sit at all.

I had a similar pain after my first c section because there was air in my abdomen (I mention it because you said you had had a c section so you may have experienced it; I didn't have the same pain after my 2nd section so you may not have had the same pain)

As I said before, I had an ectopic pregnancy - though mine seemed to be on the surface of my ovary rather than in the tube.
When it ruptured, I couldn't stand or sit up at all - kept passing out. There was no warning other than the pain. I lost 3+ pints of blood - all internally - externally the only sign was that I kept passing out.
If I hadn't been immediately wheeled into surgery I wouldn't have made it. I am not trying to scare you, but want you to understand how important it is for DP to understand how seriously he should take it if you suddenly get very dizzy, can't stand up, or pass out. He must call an ambulance and keep you lying down with your legs up. He must tell the ambulance people that you have a suspected ruptured ectopic pregnancy.

I do hope you get good news at your next hospital visit. Until then, take it easy. If the pain gets worse, do go back to hospital. There is a good reason they wanted to keep you in (though I do understand you have good reasons to want to be at home).

Hurr1cane · 27/01/2015 10:09

Thanks. It doesn't feel like that at all. It's just a twinge that my brain is probably imagining because I'm scared.
