Evening all, sorry for the silence but finally back off holiday and into civilisation with Internet!

Gill that is fantastic news, I'm really pleased that all is going well.

Bushy, can't believe that you are due this month; how very exciting!

Loving the piccies Lady, RP and Feather, keep them coming.

Peal not long to go, you must be ready to finish, especially in this heat!

All ok here, we had a scan on Monday to check on number two, but only an egg sac. Still our little HB is coming along nicely and was moving a bit, I still cannot believe how formed it is for 9+3. I've had my booking appointment today and the midwife is lovely and figured me our quite quickly!

RevoltingPeasant · 01/07/2015 22:32

Ooh HB how lovely! You know once you have seen a HB at that gestation your chances are really good :)

What date is your 12 w scan?

RevoltingPeasant · 01/07/2015 22:33

Pffft at forgetting baby. Grin

HampshireBlues · 02/07/2015 19:11

It was pretty reassuring. Just waiting to get an appointment through for the 12week scan; the NHS at its finest couldn't possibly have the appointment booked until I had the first appointment with the midwife! Luckily I know some staff int he ANG department so may pop down on Monday and see what's happening.

pearlcrystal · 02/07/2015 20:05

hb so glad all was well at the scan and you have a nice midwife. If you were astonished at development at 9 weeks just wait for the 12 week one - it's incredible, you can see a little face in profile even if the baby is positioned well! It's incredible how quickly everything develops nad teh it just seems T be a mattress of growing lots.

rp jellie LOL at having baby as an item on the list, although it is one of my big fears that i will for get about the baby and leave it behind somewhere. I am a little bit concerned about taking adequate care of it to be honest as i kill plans on a regular basis, but at least babies make more noise.

lady ah the fibroids... So the last time I got scanned (28 weeks), the sonographer decided that in his view they weren't fibroids at all but an enlarged mass in the uterus (he helpfully added that it's probably not cancer as it wasn't very vascular) Am still trying to get to the bottom of what this means, but there appears to be nothing blocking the baby's way out which is good. I am going in for another scan on Tuesday and if they still can't give me a meaningful diagnosis I will ask to be released back into midwife care so I can have the baby at the birth centre.

gill snowy hope you're both feeling well and enjoying the second trimester.

bushy how are you enjoying may leave? Only a few more weeks to go for you... How are you feeling? Excited? Nervous? Has nesting kicked in yet?

I've got a day off work tomorrow and the just another 2.5 weeks to go until my mat leave starts. Really looking forward to it and fully focussing on nesting and getting ever closer to D - day!

pearlcrystal · 03/07/2015 07:25

Oh - autocorrect damn you.
Meant to say that it was amazing how quickly everything develops and then it was just a matter of growing lots.... I also kill plants not plans - although I probably do that too.

Jelliebabe1 · 03/07/2015 22:23

Hey everyone!

Yes HB I had problems getting my 12week scan in time I really had to fuss. The scan dept however were exceptional! And in fact continue to be super helpful. So if you can speak to them directly do!

Pearl! Eeeeeep 2.5 weeks! How exciting! About 10 weeks here if I go in mid September. I'm excited already. How many weeks till DD?

I had my anomoly scan part 2 today. Twin 2 still misbehaving! She got a lot more measurements but still not everything. Never mind was nice to see them. Its our wedding anniversary so we then went to the cinema and off for dinner. Grin. Next scan on the 17th. This is a consultant appointment too. I had a good look at my scan notes today, apparently I've got one anterior placenta and one posterior. Would explain why I can feel more on one side than the other! Lol difficult to the last! Grin

WildflowerMarmalade · 04/07/2015 16:54

Hello lovely ladies. I'm just popping my head into the 'copter from the other thread to say hello. I had my blood test results confirmed as a definite positive today by the FC. So it's official; I'm pregnant. I am in complete disbelief after taking so long to even get a sniff of a BFP, but I know I couldn't be in better company.

Bushy I can't believe how close you are! This month. Wow!

And Pearl (hello, I don't think we've met before) I look forward to growing a mattress. Confused

RevoltingPeasant · 04/07/2015 19:38

wildflower Grin for you. Such great news! How far along are you? Have you organised to see a MW yet? That was when it felt real to me. Till then I pretty much felt like an imposter - I know my mum thought it was v odd that I hadn't got A Doctor to confirm the pg!

I am lying here putting Dodo to bed in her little vintage floral print pjs - hoping to be able to sneak down soon as DSis2 and bil are over for dinner!

This is a random babyspam picture of her with her new space age teething dummy. bushy soon you will have one of these!!!

The Berry-Copter!!! (Early 2015 edition)
RevoltingPeasant · 04/07/2015 19:39

A baby, I mean, not a space age dummy. Though it might be good for biting on in labour...

pearlcrystal · 04/07/2015 19:45

Hi wild - congratulations and a massive woop woop for your BFP!! Have you got a first scan date yet? Totally understand your disbelief. I tested every second day until my first scan which I had at just over 6 weeks.
Lovely to meet you and so glad you made it into this thread.

jellie could it be a good thing that your placentas are on opposite sides? Speaking from total ignorance here, but I just wonder if them not overlapping might mean a better blood supply to the little jellie babies. How many weeks are you now?

I was 33 weeks yesterday so less than 7 weeks to go!!

pearlcrystal · 04/07/2015 19:47

Awww rp love dodo's pj's, utter gorgeousness

greatbigbushybeard · 05/07/2015 11:54

Hello everyone! Love our new arrivals!! wild I remember feeling like that & it took me a long time to go near any baby stuff. After my 12 week scan when I had told people all I had were some people asking had I bought stuff/ got pram/ done the nursery yet or when was I leaving for maternity leave!! I think these are the people who get pg v easily & have not had any losses. Even now I think blimey I'm on maternity & going to have a baby soon- it's really unbelievable!!

Eek to rp & baby soon!!! Can't quite believe it!! Got a bit worried the other day as had been lifting heavy things & baby was v quiet. I then drank 2 really cold drinks & she wreaked her revenge on me kicking like mad that night & the next!!

The nursery is coming on, been putting away clothes. Dh has put the nursery chair together- oh my god, it is the most comfiest chair ever!! Mothercare glider one with footstool. I've put a throw & cushions on it so looks v comfy. Still a bit unsure about how many baby grows/ nappies to take to hospital & whether I've got enough of the right sizes. Some friends who have had a baby recently are going to give me some that their baby has grown out of so I'm not going to buy anymore. Also another friend gave me lots of grow bags & swaddling blankets. One thing I'd like some advice on is bedding- what to put over baby in Moses basket- swaddled blanket/ cellular & how many I need. I have fitted sheets, 1 cellular & 2 flat flannelette sheets. ( my mum got me the flannelette ones- should these go over the baby?) then I have the selector of grow bags & swaddle blankets from friend.

Anyway better get on, we're meeting our antenatal group for drinks later & I am having a pedicure!

RevoltingPeasant · 05/07/2015 22:16

Bushy I thnk I packed two of each size of vest and babygro (newborn, 0-3) but just in case we were in longer and needed more, I made sure I had more washed at home and DH knew where they were only in actual fact they were still in the washing basket when she arrived Don't think we bought much tiny baby stuff as we figured if she was that small we'd just buy stuff on the way home.

We are taking Dodo on her first hols on Tuesday, to see DPIL and DM in glamorous Yorkshire. It's like a fucking military expedition, it really is Shock

greatbigbushybeard · 06/07/2015 12:03

Lol rp re military expedition!! Dh has said he's trying to be more patient as he will need a lot more patience once baby is here. We struggle getting anywhere on time as it so will be fun when baba is here!!

I have got chronic indigestion at mo, burping like a trooper last night! Been a bit slow to get going today. Got myself up for patio man & cleaned up kitchen. Did want to get our bedroom up to scratch but think little chunks might be better. Having lunch at neighbour's in half an hour so might clean & tidy a small cabinet before that. 38 weeks tom- eek!!

Jelliebabe1 · 07/07/2015 15:00

HA Bushy - You'll have to change your screen name to Greatbigburpybeard!

RP - you'll be on your way or there by now - Good luck - you'll love it when you're there - Grandparents can take over and you and DH can have a well deserved rest!

Pearl - My mum said that too that its probably good as they wont be squashed up together (she used to be a midwife many moons ago) so I'm going to take her word for it. All I can think is that its like a baby sandwich in there! LOL - I'm looking really ROUND today Grin

pearlcrystal · 07/07/2015 16:56

Hello everyone! Just wanted to share the good news that I had my 34 week scan today and the sonographer could not find the fibroids so agreed to release me into MW care and to ask if I can deliver at the birth centre but couldn't see why not... So fingers crossed this will all work out!! Baby seems to be growing well and is round about the 25th percentile which suits me just fine :-)

jellie how far along are you now? I can just imagine your baby sandwich, it's the cutest thing ever. The colleague I work closest with is auntie to twin girls and I often get to see photos and hear anecdotes about them (they're nearly two years old). I think it's a lot of fun having twins!

bushy 38 weeks!! Not long to go now. Do you feel like nesting has kicked in? I've got gas too but it tends to go the other way which is worse!

rp hope you're enjoying your holidays

wild gill how atpre you both doing?

WildflowerMarmalade · 07/07/2015 22:38

That's good news on the (lack of ) fibroids Pearl and on the 25th percentile - although I have no idea what that actually means!

RP I hope you are enjoying your trip away? If you are in Yorkshire and in need of advice on planning and running a military operation then Catterick is right there. I'm sure they would be happy to help. And such a cute photo.

Bushy it sounds to me as if you are doing more than enough.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one to suffer from extreme lack of conviction after a BFP. My first scan with the FC is a week on Friday, so maybe that will make it seem more real.

I've been to the GP to ask about my underactive thyroid and being pg. they totally failed to give me the NHS guidelines advice - which is to up the thyroxine dose straightaway. So that's annoying. I will have to go back armed with print outs from the Internet - they'll love that. I did insist on a referral to a consultant, which is standard with underactive thyroid but the GP reckoned the referral might get bounced back as my blood test showed normal thyroid levels. But now I don't know if that's because I just upped my dose myself and I've lost any faith I had in the GP. I shouldn't be making these decisions on my own. I'm really fed up with them. Sorry, that turned into a rant! I'd better go to bed.

Gill how's things?

Jelliebabe1 · 08/07/2015 21:33

Pearl! That's brilliant news! Hooray to being released! Now you can plan the sort of birth that you want! Not blinkin long now! I'm 23 weeks now.

Pixie001 · 08/07/2015 22:16

Yay pearl
Hello wild Grin, welcome to chopper! Feels like it takes forever to have the first scan and the rest but hopefully the week will whiz by.
Sorry everyone..have written 2 long posts before that I've then lost and didn't have patience to rewrite. But I am keeping up with everything!
DH currently got head on bump feeling kicks and shuffles. bless him. Smile

greatbigbushybeard · 08/07/2015 23:01

Great news pearl re the pesky fibroids doing one. I suppose I probably am 'nesting' now. Did a big clean in bedroom, Hoovered, dusted the venetians etc so v clean!! Problem is I keep unearthing new things to clean, so dust the blinds & then realise how dirty the window & frames are... Haven't done them tho!! That can wait another day!!

Popped into work to have a transition meeting with the teachers of my class next year. Was quite funny as we mostly ended up talking babies, labour & pregnancy! Have come away with 3 pearls of wisdom- do your pelvic floor exercises, try perineal massage ( haven't yet but might!) & some old lady told my colleague to brush her nipples with a toothbrush to toughen them up for breastfeeding!! Came back from that quite late as stopped to talk to others so we went out for dinner, nice to do it whilst we still can!!

wild your scan will be lovely, it's such a relief to have it done although it won't really look like much at this stage. Grr re the thyroid issues, rant away.

pixie bless your dh.

Can I ask our former chopper berries what clothes they bought for breast feeding. Jojo has some nice tops. I know my friend does a sort of vest top & shirt type combo.

Pixie001 · 09/07/2015 22:18

Rp where did you get your home birth pool from? Was it one with a heater?

pearlcrystal · 10/07/2015 15:54

wild How was your scan today? Any news?
25th percentile just means that for the same age (34 weeks gestation) my baby is bigger than 1 in 4 babies and smaller than 3 in 4 - so he is on the little side but normal. They map you on growth charts so that they can track progress and make sure that baby is growing OK in the final trimester

jellie WOOOOOP WOOOP for 23 weeks - do you realise that you are in viability territory now (I am sure you do, but doesn't hurt to reiterate)!! Sooo exciting

pixie how are you doing? Are you planning to start maternity leave soon? Not long to go now.

bushy definitely sounds like you're nesting and very busy! I'm planning to start perineal massage this weekend - eeeek! Might be worth checking with your midwife regarding the toughening up of nipples as I was told it's not recommended anymore but that you can use Lansinoh in advance, but there is so much conflicting advice all around that it wouldn't surprise me if my advice was out of date. Have you been given any estimates as to baby size. Can't believe you're full term now - that's so exciting!!!

greatbigbushybeard · 10/07/2015 19:06

Hi pearl no estimates on size but I think she'll be a decent size baby, 7 or up is what I'm thinking! Re the perineal massage what are you following to do it? In my what to expect book it explains it and says to be fairly gentle. Saw midwife yesterday& she said baby is in a good position but not engaged yet. I'd also heard that about lansinoh cream, although I've packed mine away in the hospital bag already.

Went out shopping today & got a few feeding tops & a few maternity vests as am v hot at mo. Also bought a changing bag- yay! It was in the sale in Mothercare, it is pink & white stripes so not v manly for dh but real men can wear pink!!

Can I ask if anyone has used fake tan in pg, I haven't but wouldn't mind using some gradual tan ( l'oreal summer body) to take the edge off. If it's not a good idea then I have some wash off stuff I might pop on instead.

WildflowerMarmalade · 10/07/2015 20:57

My scan is next Friday Pearl and time seems to be slowing down now! Bring it on, I say.

Bushy I'm loving your nesting activities. I smiled at the thought of you dusting Venetians and imagined dusty Italians lined up and getting a flick of your duster. The changing bag sounds nice and good work on getting it in the sale. DH will just have to live with it.

Jellie 23 weeks! On the downward slope now (sort of). When will you start your mat leave?

The midwife called and we've booked an appointment. She's coming to my house.Confused is that normal? Or is she just massively nosey?
