I'm scared I've left it too late

I haven't felt my baby move since yesterday morning. I usually feel her when I sit down and have a rest in the evening and last night nothing. Now this morning, nothing.

I'm really scared. I'm only 23 weeks, I'm going to call the hospital this morning but will have to go just me and my toddler.

I'm scared she has died. I'm scared that even if she hasn't, I'm not 24 weeks yet, so if something is wrong there is nothing they can do. Sorry, I'm mainly writing this because I don't want to completely freak my partner out by saying it all to him

Now I think of it, I think her movements have got less in the past couple of days too, but I was too busy to pay much attention. I don't even know if 23 weeks is too early to count the kicks.

I'm not sure I have anything to say that will help or comfort I'm so sorry. But I'd go now - can toddler stay with your OH until you're back?

Even if you can't go in yet ring the hospital now for advice

Have you tried a glass of ice cold water followed by a 10 minute lie down? Sometimes that can cause baby to kick - often recommended if you've not felt any kicks in a while

Thanks for replying. He has to go to work at 7, I don't want him taking too much time off as he only been there a year. There's no buses running to the hospital until later. He is going to drive to work and talk to his boss when he gets there, hopefully they will be understanding

Sorry x post betty last night I tried chocolate, cold water and a Ice lolly while laying on the sofa (not all at once!)

when pregnant with DS I went in for reduced movements too and everything was fine. But it was much later then 23 weeks. Just holding onto that

23weeks is fairly early to count the kicks and its possible she's just in a different position where you cant feel it. However any reduced movement should be checked. Do call hospital now, to be safe and get a taxi or ask a friend/family member if they can take you.

Hopefully the baby has just moved position, they still have lots of room at this stage, I didn't feel my 1st or 2nd move at all till about 24 weeks. I would definitely go in, they won't mind. Good luck

I've had a shower to get ready to go and changed position hoping the baby will move and I can feel little kicks! Not on my belly though somewhere inside me. I know that sounds weird!

Ok thank you. DP gone to work but has driven, so I will get dressed and call the hospital. If they say to come in he'll have to ask his boss to leave for a hour.

So much to worry about when you're pregnant!

Best to get checked but the baby has probably moved so it is kicking inwards which at this stage you won't feel as much

I am 22 weeks and just had the SAME problem!!, I went twelve hours with no movement and work at 5:15am panicking. Have you been to the loo
. Try a full glass of very cold water - all tricks I was told can wake them. It took 45 minutes for my little girl to finally kick. She work for just over an hour and went back to sleep. I have had days when she hasn't moved as much. But definitely get yourself to hospital to be checked out. Let us know how you got on. X

I had exact same problem Monday evening, hadn't felt my lil fella since the night before (I'm 27wks), I'd tried all of Monday to get him to move but nothing worked, called Maternity who advised me to go in for Monitoring. As soon as the monitor went on he started moving! I think me pushing on the monitor to hold it in place woke him up and bothered him. OP your lil one was probably hiding away? Hope all is okay?

Just got back, everything is fine! She is just hiding. Heard the heartbeat (which she kicked away!) But she is too little for monitoring. The midwives were lovely, but I feel silly now

Im 24+4, and my girls movements are very varied! Some days like yesterday, she goes mental kicking all day, other days like today, she is quiet and I just feel it kicking occasionally. I mentioned it to the midwife, and she said baby is still very small and its too early to be counting kicks.

It is worrying though!

I just want to add to the chorus of DO NOT FEEL SILLY!! sorry for shouting but I went in loads with DD on reduced movements, they absolutely would rather you be there everyday than just once it being something serious that you decide to ignore because of worrying.

Funnily enough hazlenutt I 'liked' count the kicks on facebook after I had DS, but have hidden them while I'm pregnant as was worrying myself silly reading the stories. I was also confused because most advice goes from 24 weeks minimum, so I wasn't sure what to do before that
