I couldn't believe it i went to my 12 weeks scan and i was all excited as it my first pregnancy, went in the ultrasound room and saw my lil bubba hear the heartbeat. I asked the lady if i can have a photo as she was about to print it the printer wouldn't work. so i went home empty handed, it did upset me but you think with all the money there NHS get cant they update or check there machine.

has anyone had the same problem as me?

Evening all,
could we please bear in mind the MN Talk Guidelines?

Enaj30 · 10/11/2014 21:33

Jesus! Give the girl a break, ok she maybe said something without thinking but on the flip side she wanted to show family & friends her happy news. With posters like you who needs enemies ay?! And before I get shot down I work in the NHS!

wtkt33 · 21/11/2014 11:13

People, be nice ! I'd be really upset if I didn't get a photo- but then I'd just pay for a private scan and get lots. Sorry that happened my dear, I would certainly have cried if that happened to me !

EstRusMum · 21/11/2014 12:23

I actually can understand the dissapointment. I'd probably ask to go in for a moment again and take a photo of the screen on mobile. I'm sure they wouldn't mind, as NHS workers are humans too and know how much it means to a pregnant woman.

AWombWithoutAFoof · 21/11/2014 12:26

I know you're disappointed, OP, but I'd be very happy to send you my 12 week scan photo, it doesn't look like anything in particular, so nobody will be any the wiser.

Tiredemma · 21/11/2014 12:32

Its make you think where does that NHS money go to

Im not often speechless........

TittyBojangles · 21/11/2014 12:37

This can't be serious, surely?!

Emstheword · 21/11/2014 12:43

Goodness me, the OP was disappointed she didn't get a scan picture....it's her first pregnancy and she's excited. Have some compassion! She was clearly just letting off steam, why on earth would you all want to berate her about complaining about the NHS. I sympathise OP....I'd be disappointed too about the scan pic, it's a tiny thing, but every tiny snippet becomes hugely important when it's your first. Take no notice of this unnecessary firing squad and enjoy the news that you have a healthy baby growing. I agree a private scan in a few weeks might be worth paying for.

Madamecastafiore · 21/11/2014 12:51

Really.

Words fail me.

Siarie · 21/11/2014 12:57

I understand why you are disappointed but if you want pictures get an private scan done.

I would be disappointed too so pleas all be more understanding. I remember getting my first scan picture, being so excited and showing Friends and family. There really are some nasty people on mumsnet at the moment, such a shame. Should be a place for people to come on and talk about things that are bothering them without aggressive comments.

Notsure9257 · 21/11/2014 19:58

Actually I think a lot of posters here are annoyed about the OP's naïveté towards the nhs funding. Not the fact she's annoyed she didn't get a photo.

DanyStormborn · 21/11/2014 21:32

It's a medical exam not a photo opportunity! It is nice to get a photo but it is an unecessary bonus. And what on earth makes you think the NHS is rolling in cash??!!!

plummyjam · 22/11/2014 06:33

At my trust you have to pay £5 for the photo otherwise you don't get one.

AlwaysLurking38 · 22/11/2014 07:19

Wow! What a load of nasty gits you all are!!

The poor woman is disappointed she didn't get a picture of her first baby, as would most people be! No need to be so horrible about her comment on the NHS. She probably said it to let off steam and even if she meant it, so what? Doesn't need all these comments berating her for it does she? Got me really cross reading some of these comments. Nasty nasty woman.

Op I understand, I'd be really upset if I didn't get a picture of my baby. It's part of the excitement isn't it, if you can afford it I'd try and go for a private scan. You can get some fab pictures :)
