Not felt any movement/kicks

I'm 19+3 & I'm still yet to feel my baby move .
This has got me pretty worried & I'm not sure wether I'm been daft or not as this is my first .

I asked my Midwife & she said the hospital will not do a scan to check baby is ok as they are too busy & I should just wait til my next scan (which is next monday)
.Should I just leave it ?

Pretty normal with your first. I didn't feel my first till about 24 weeks. Your MW or gp might be able to find the heartbeat though. Good luck.

That's normal. I didn't feel anything until the day before my 20 week scan and even then I wasn't sure. Since the scan the baby has been moving more and more. I'm 25 weeks now and have lots of movement.

I didn't feel mine until 20 something weeks. My mW did find HB at 16 weeks though so surprised she didn't offer to do that.

The placenta maybe at the front (anterior) so maybe thats why you cant feel anything yet . An anterior placenta is perfectly normal by the way . x

If you are worried then you should be reassured. You could contact the labour & delviery ward & raise your concerns.

I didn't feel proper definite kicks until about 21 weeks and I have an anterior placenta. My midwife gave me a booklet yesterday that said they wouldn't really do anything about lack of movement until after 24 weeks. At that point they'd just listen to the heartbeat and then after 28 weeks they take it more seriously and you go to hospital.

I don't remember feeling anything before about 24 weeks fortunately I hadn't read anything so wasn't worried I will have to try not to worry this time around!

I read that with your first it could be up to 24 weeks before you feel anything - I felt kicks at 18 weeks but my baby is very, very, very active.

Everyone I have spoke to have told me I should feel something between 16&19 weeks

I rang the hospital and they wouldn't do anything to reassure me either , I did hear the heartbeat two weeks ago though

They tend not to do much at this stage because there's not much they can do. It's so heartless.

Normal. I didn't feel anything until around 20 weeks and that was fairly faint and I might not have noticed if I had been rushing about.

Do you have your 20 week scan coming up? My baby was going properly crazy during mine, doing flips and all sorts as the sonographer chased her about. I felt one small movement out of all of that!

That's pretty normal. Didn't feel anything until 22 weeks or so with first. Had an anterior placenta which masked things too.

I haven't felt anything either (18+4, first one). It's frustrating but I have been told it could be over 20w and it depends on your anatomy. For instance, although I'm slim if I have excess fat it's mostly on my tummy so I think I'm a bit padded! Plus I'm bloated too so all this could be a factor. Maybe you too?

I didn't feel a thing until 23 weeks so don't worry. It's a bit of a funny time between your 12 and 20 weeks scans, it seems such a long time to wait with no proper physical reassurance. I am sure all is fine, nearly at that next scan and the next 20 weeks will go quicker than the first.

My 20 week Scan is on Monday thankfully so not too long to wait though it does seem to be dragging

I didn't feel anything until 23/24 weeks, even with a posterior placenta, so I wouldn't worry too much. I had seen him/her wriggling around at the 20 week scan, but hadn't felt a thing.

It is possible you have felt baby move but not realised it ... to begin with you are looking for something like very light tapping, flutters, bubbles ... All of which you might dismiss as normal digestion traits. try sacking on a couple of ice cubes then laying down quietly and just wait ... you may just get a reassuring nudge but first timers can wait til beyond 20 - 22 weeks

I didn't feel any movement till 19+6. Perfectly normal. I've heard they won't scan just for movement concerns till 24 weeks but not sure if this is just local policy.

I am currently 18 weeks and been told its normal for first time not not feel nothing untill 24 weeks somtimes.
I was also told might be longer for me as i have more padding due to being bigger so i might not feel much.
Try not to worry im just taking each day as it comes.

I'm 21 weeks and have still felt nothing. though ive had my 20 week scan and baby is kicking away inside, I just can't feel it, which is a bit annoying. you might have an anterior placenta - that's what i have and the placenta acts like a cushion between your tummy and baby so makes it harder to feel movement

I am 20 weeks and sone days feel loads and some days nothing. Found out at 20 week scan today that my placenta is on my left side and realised that all the movements I feel are on the right so placenta definitely hides sensations. Ask at your 20 week scan where your placenta is and you might well find it's covering the front. From 24 weeks the mw will start listening to the heartbeat so that should help reassure you as well x

I didn't feel anything for quite a while, now I'm 25weeks, I'm finally getting more regular movements. My placenta is at the front so it's hiding those little bubbles! Glass of child water and sitting quietly can help bring on some flutters. :-)

I'm pregnant with number 2 and hardly felt any movement until around 22 weeks, I do have an anterior placenta so I think that made a difference, I felt DS(1st baby) at around 19-20 weeks.
Try not to worry too much, hope your scan goes well
