Reduced movement 34+3 what would you do?

I'm 34 and a half weeks,
Yesterday I noticed baby not as active as usual. He normally moves absolutely loads and makes me really uncomfortable, today i felt a light movement this morning but still notbing much so rung the day unit.
They asked me to come in at 1.30.

At 3pm I was still sat waiting for any sort of direction or explanation. Finally at 4 they put me on a monitor for 45 minutes. He moved a tiny bit in this time but still the movements are unlike his usual.
Midwife came to tell me the day unit was shutting and if I was still experiencing the same kind of reduced movement tomorrow to ring up and they would scan me. Have tried everything since I got home to get him to move like normal and nothing
Options are -

Go to work tomorrow and leave if I'm not satisfied to go to the hospital

Organise now for someone else to open up at work and ring hospital first thing and insist on a scan.

I'm abit worried as he normally is really active and I understand he's getting bigger now but on Friday he was fine !
They made me feel like such a pain in the ass at the hospital !

Call the delivery suite and speak to them.

I would be demanding to be checked tbh

Ring them. And keep ringing them. Too important too ignore, and they should see that too!

Keep going in to the maternity unit if you are worried, I speak from experience as we nearly lost dd. I am sure that everything is fine in your case, but if you do not feel that something is right just go and be checked. .

I hope you are not reading this because you are actually on your way to the hospital. Go and get that scan!

I basically got thrown out the day unit because it was closing!
She didn't dip my urine, do blood pressure or explain the trace so I'm just worried they were so busy I didn't get their full attention!

Ring delivery suite. Insist you're coming in for another trace. Be a nuisance.

Go in NOW. Do not wait any longer. A baby that isn't moving much is telling you that something is wrong. Please, please go in. My daughter was stillborn at 37 weeks and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Not trying to scare you but by the time they're moving less (if something is actually wrong) then there isn't always a lot of time left to intervene. Stupid hospital should not have made you feel that way at all and should have taken you seriously. You need properly checking over and I would be insisting on a scan.

I've just called again- they can't/ won't scan me as it's the first time I've experienced reduction in movements.. Is this true? Surely they'd rather scan on the first time than wait!
They said I can go in for a trace if I 'really' want but that's all they can do and she told me about 12 times that id be waiting a while due to how busy they are !

Scan and monitoring and if they are refusing you go up the chain all the way to chief exec.

It's a misconception that getting bigger means they move less. They are less able to make certain types of movement, but can and should still shift around lots.

Firstpregnancy2014 - Pretty please be a nuisance. Not acceptable for you to be thrown out of the day unit. Honestly don't want to panic you - you clearly know reduced movements are not something to be messed around with. Don't worry at all about being a nuisance - make them do their job!

Also can you go to another hospital?

I'd go into/ring the labour ward. Did that at 30 ish weeks in my last pregnancy. They told me to go in and I was monitored for an hour or so. All was fine which was a relief. They fobbed you off earlier. My maternity notes clearly say 'never go to bed if you have concerns about reduced movement' and give the labour ward phone number to call. Good luck!

Get a scan. This happened with ds - his movements were reduced but fine when monitored. They decided to scan and they found low fluid levels - I was induced the next day. It is probably nothing but for the sake of someone opening up I would go and get a scan.

Firstpregnancy2014 is there another hospital you can go to OP? Otherwise I would just turn up and demand to be seen. I'm sorry the hospital don't seem to be supportive. Don't give up - the hospital is very likely in the wrong here.

Ok, call them back and if they refuse to scan you again then ask for their name, tell them you will be holding them personally responsible should anything happen to your baby. I would also then ask to speak to the consultant on call. If you make enough noise then they will listen. Remember that you are advocating for your baby who cannot speak for themselves, he/she is telling you everything they can right now so you need to listen, and act. Insist and do not take no for an answer. Once you start taking names and holding people responsible then they will be far less inclined to say no.

I would hope that the trace you did have showed nothing to concern the midwives or they'd have done something about it.
However if you're still concerned I'd go back and wait as long as it takes to get what you need.

The trace was hours ago, anything could change in that time. It does not discount the continued lack of movements at all.
