Hello,
I'm new to this but wondered if anybody was in or has been in the same boat. I had a miscarriage on 22th August at 5 and half weeks (first pregnancy). Me and my husband weren't advised not to try straight away after but weren't trying religiously or anything. After reading online I did a pregnancy test after 2 weeks to check all was gone, that was negative.
Today after feeling pretty rubbish all week I decided to do another test, clear blue digital came up pregnant 1-2weeks, am excited but completely terrified same is going to happen again. Going to ring docs tomorrow and see what they say. Would really appreciate some advice/stories. Thanks xxxx

After some reading I'm now wondering if what I thought was a light period might've been implantation bleeding. Bleed on and off for 3 days, very light. Some bright watery red and some like the end of a period. Usually I have a heavy ish clotty period for 5 days. Only time will tell I guess x

Funkyfairy2004 · 28/09/2014 21:40

Fingers crossed everything goes well. We lost a baby at 11 weeks at Christmas and were not actively trying straight away, I felt hideous and had a dreadful cold a few weeks later and hubby suggested that I should do a test, it was positive! After being terrified of everything for months we have just reached 36 weeks and all has been fine! I hope you have the same luck as us xxx

Sarahlouisa1983 · 28/09/2014 22:07

That's great news funkyfairy2004! There is hope for us all when we hear stories like yours! X

I, too, am pregnant after a recent miscarriage - 23rd of August at 8 weeks. I did a test (negative) this day last week and off we went on holiday. I tested again today, really just to keep an eye on things because I've had no period since, and it was positive.

Funnily, I tested positive the last time the day after coming back from holiday. It was the day after my birthday. Today's the day after our wedding anniversary.

Bizarre.

Sarahlouisa1983 · 28/09/2014 22:26

Awe that's wonderful! Wishing you a healthy rainbow baby xxxxx

Sarahlouisa1983 · 29/09/2014 16:32

Just back from the hosp. They have taken bloods for my HCG levels and will tell me tomorrow if they want me to have another on Wednesday depending on what they are. They are also testing for my clotting and other tests to see if there is any reason for our miscarriages (this is our 3rd). We also had our little angel tested for any chromosome abnormalities and they came back normal but we found out we would've had a little girl the midwife seemed quite positive about a new pregnancy but I'm not getting my hopes up xxx

Jaffakake · 29/09/2014 17:46

Both times I've got pregnant I had an unusually heavy period the cycle before. My guess is they were chemical pregnancies that weren't going to last but I'd not got as far as testing. I doubt it's a coincidence and my body just is in the zone, so to speak.

Jaffakake · 29/09/2014 17:47

Good luck to everyone who's waiting on good news x x

Beau5y · 29/09/2014 18:05

Hey Sarahlouisa, that all sounds pretty positive to me glad it went ok and there wasn't any bad news. I've rang the docs and have an appointment tomorrow evening so hopefully can push for early midwife appointment or scan or anything ha. Still really worried keep praying there's no blood when I go to the loo which is silly but can't help it. Let me know how you get on tomorrow too. Glad lots of people seem to have similar stories with positive rainbow baby outcomes :-)
Everything crossed xxxx

Haha I know what you mean. Checking the toilet every time you go. I'm just worried it's all too good to be true. I took the strips out of all my clearblue digital tests to see f they were getting darker but they weren't. All the same darkness so don't know if that's significant at all.

I'm praying you have good news. Are they taking any blood tests? X

Beau5y · 29/09/2014 19:40

I'm not sure yet. It's a evening appointment so suspect I'll have to go back during the day. Praying for a nice doctor, there's a real mixture at the surgery I go too. I have funny blood anyway so am guessing they will do, I have an appointment at the hospital on Friday anyway for my funny blood so maybe they might do more there too. Just keeping everything crossed for both of us hoping it'll be good news this time :-) x

Fingers crossed for good news! I got miscarried at 12 weeks last year, got pregnant after one AF, and have now got my beautiful 6 month old rainbow baby asleep on my chest :)

ChippingInLatteLover · 29/09/2014 21:43

I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage :( I hope this is good news for you, and if it's not, it will be soon x

Sarahlouisa1983 · 30/09/2014 17:29

Hi guys. So just spoke I my EPAU And they don't think I an pregnant, or if it is I'm a threatened miscarriage maybe but they didn't say much because they want to speak to a consultant tomorrow. The clearblue said I was 1-2 weeks pregnant, but my HCG levels taken yesterday have come back at 16 and my progesterone is only 2.5. Ok asked if it could be retained tissue and she said it could be but she will phone me tomorrow and let me know the plan. Bloody great! This is such an emotional roller coaster!!!! I can't cope with this after such a traumatic miscarriage! Just want answers Sad

Beau5y · 30/09/2014 18:19

Oh gosh I'm so sorry to hear that Sarahlouisa. Hopefully they'll let you know first thing tomorrow so you're not worrying for ages. Fingers crossed if it is a new pregnancy they can properly monitor so the same doesn't happen again. Off to the docs later so will let you know how it goes. Sending you hugs xx

Wishing you so much luck and love. It's such a roller coaster but I hope they give you good news.
I've been looking at hcg levels and mine should be normal for 1-2 weeks, and my progesterone. I'm wondering if the nurse I phoned didn't know my history as I has to phone a different ward, and she may have thought I was further along than I was.

Beau5y · 30/09/2014 22:10

Sounds to me like she may not have know all the facts. Went to the docs she said she definitely thinks it's a new pregnancy, hubby made her do a test whilst I was there!! She didn't seem too worried about doing a earlier scan though just said use the miscarriage as the date to date the pregnancy from and until I have the dating scan I won't know, guessing I'll get a letter in the post. Hoping I won't have to ring them all again and say I don't need to come because I've lost it. I have my appointment with my haematologist on friday but going to ring and let her now tomorrow just incase she needs to do any extra tests. Keep having some funny feelings in my tummy that feel sort of like a pressure sensation but not a painful one, praying it's just normal twinges. I really hope you get some more answers Sarahlouisa its the waiting that's the worst!! Xxxx

Beau5y that is amazing news!!!! Sending you positive positive vibes and thought and a prefect pregnancy!!! Insist on having your HCG levels and Progesterone checked my your haematologist, also ask them to check your clotting incase you have that sticky blood. Although the miscarriage midwife I saw said there is no harm in just taking low dose (75mg) of aspirin just incase so maybe do that too in the meantime. It won't harm your baby and it will prevent any possible clots! But most of all make sure you breathe and make yourself think positive thoughts! I know you must be feeling all over the place, in disbelief, joy, worry, nervous, happy, surreal! But it's happening and all will be well.

I spoke to the EPAU again this morning. They have booked me in for another blood test on Friday and the lady i spoke to was lovely. She did say my levels were very low, but she also said that they have to start somewhere. But she did say it was very strange so will have to see what those results say.

Fingers crossed for us all, although I'm not overly confident now. I'm just so worried if it is retained tissue that it will cause problems! Don't want anything to start an infection or worse! They will scan me next week if my hcg has not changed much x

Sarahlouisa1983 · 01/10/2014 08:57

P.s. I too keep getting twinges and just feelings of stretching, but is it in my head?! It feels real!!!! X

kitkat321 · 01/10/2014 09:24

Something similar happened to me - mc at 5+4, fell pregnant again right away but unfortunately had a second mc at 5+4.

The MW said I shouldn't have tried again so quickly as my body was still recovering from the first one but I'd heard so many positive stories about women getting pregnant immediately after a MC so I think I was just unlucky.

Decided to take a break for a couple of months and fell pregnant again on first attempt and am now almost 7 months gone.

Fingers crossed for you that this one is sticky! xx

Beau5y · 01/10/2014 20:53

I actually do have sticky blood that's why I have to go to the haematologist :-) it's been under control for years though and I take an aspirin every morning as well as an injection once every two weeks, which is a very low dosage. Is HCG levels on a full blood count? I rang today and she said all the blood tests she does already will be fine. Been having more twinges today! Starting panicking earlier cause I had a shooting pain in my tummy but think it was too high up to be anything sinister and reckon it was just wind. We will both be giving blood on Friday then hopefully it'll be good news for both. I can't stop eating cheese!! Apparently according to somebody at work that means I'm carrying a boy haha!!
Praying for sticky beans xxxx

Hey. Going back tomorrow for my second hormone test. Not sure when I'll get that result. Going in at 10am but not sure if the results will be ready by the afternoon but I'll keep you informed. Have you got any update about your blood work Hun? X

Beau5y · 02/10/2014 22:19

Blood work is tomorrow I'm going at 9.30, going to beg for an early scan, she's normally pretty good with referring me for tests so fingers crossed she'll let me. Hope it goes ok tomorrow for you xxx

Hello, hospital trip was good, she I'd all my usual blood tests which were fine, she also requested the lab to check my HCG levels, she said she will phone me and let me know results. She's also going to request an early scan and for me to see a gynaecologist too which I guess she'll let me know more when she rings. Also as I have the blood condition she wants me to visit a professor who specialises in blood conditions in pregnancy she's in London, I'm up north so that'll be interesting.
How did the hormone tests go??? Xxxx
