I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.

There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos/
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk/
If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!prescribinginfosub

I would like to thank Everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Hi all!

Just popping my head in. Babalou just wanted to say I tried stemetil then cyclizine with no effect other than drowsiness, still vomitted lots before I found promethazine. I think if it's keeping the vomiting at bay it might be worth persevering a little longer as the drowsiness did wear off for me. Interestingly, I stopped taking mine on Friday, having reduced gradually from 3 a day to 1 a day. I'm 22 weeks now so thought I'd be ok without, but ended up feeling awful all weekend and incredibly drowsy!! I wonder if you need to keep a steady dose at regular times to overcome the drowsiness? Just a thought but maybe by missing a dose to avoid drowsiness that could make it worse? I think I should be paid by the makers of promethazine, that stuff was my saviour!!

Hope everyone else is ok! xx

Hello hexy and jiminy glad to hear you'll get help hexy

No worries jiminiy, you must have it bad to have to avoid any mention of stuff. If they might be easier to read for support, try the US forums HelpHer. That's the front page, the forums are around there somewhere. Take care

I am still feeling hellish. Been in bed since midday yesterday. Can't keep anything down and have stomach ache which leads me to think I might have a bug/ food poisoning on top of everything! Dp doesn't think so, reckons it's just hg and stomach ache is because I had rich food Sunday when I haven't really eaten anything for the last month. Who knows, either way I feel AWFUL. Wah.
Welcome to everyone that has joined and hi to everyone else, hope you are all having better days. X

Hexy so sorry you're having to go to hospital. Glad you'd got the famous sticks to test and I hope the fluids help a lot.
Muddy Poor you. It could well be a bug - the Hyperemesis does lower one's resistance to virtuses - and I hope it is. It could have been set off by daring to try and do something normal. Sometimes, with a very bad day, the stomach hurts from the vomiting - I had that and I get it to this day with bad migraines - a muscular thing?
Meerka and TheJiminy Great advice about Helpher.
Emysmarie Hello, lovely to hear from you as ever. That particular drug seems to be gaining in popularity; how long has it been about?
Waves to all.
Back soon, with new thread.
xx
